  This condo is located in a well maintained development near some great amenities. It is within walking distance to a variety of activities like golf, beaches, snorkeling, running, restaurants, bars, and more. The greater Turtle Bay complex is a pleasant location if you enjoy being away from the fray of Waikiki/Honolulu and you like the North Shore mentality. Although I do have many good things to say about the area, the condo itself has not earned so many accolades. We are a family of 2 adults and 2 children. This was our first time at Turtle Bay. The condo's description suited our needs. We planned to sleep the 2 adults in the main bedroom and the 2 kids on the futon in the living room area. This immediately proved difficult as the main bed is made of soft foam that does not spring back when compressed and is difficult to sleep on comfortably. Since it works better on lighter bodies (I am 195 lbs), we put the kids in that room on the second night and there they stayed. We slept on the futon. We immediately found that the bed sheets were not clean, and one of the pillows had an unknown "stain" on it. Scary. After washing all the sheets and towels, we felt better about sleeping there. A remarkable aspect of this condo was the number of broken or poorly maintained items in it. Here's a short list of what we found: - Bathroom door won't lock - Shower pull-out has no handle - Soap dispenser in shower broken, empty, and dirty - Lanai patio glass sliding door is difficult to open - Shower curtain is mounted too far over tub, making it "suck" in when showering - Lanai patio door handle is loose/hard to lock - Bathroom fan does not work - Kitchen cabinets are poorly maintained/falling off - Fan above stove inoperable - Carving knife is broken-dangerous - Shower head is rusty and difficult to move/aim - Refrigerator door is so difficult to open - Dining table cannot accomodate more than 2 - "hole" in floor (see below) - Lanai picture window not properly covered - no privacy - The floor is covered with stone tile. In the center of the living room area, the tile is missing/gone and the subfloor has been covered with a throw rug. A 1/2" tile edge runs around the "hole" where I misstepped and twisted my ankle. This also makes chair placement impossible. This unit is in dire need of repair. Many items are either broken or poorly maintained, and I would not recommend the unit to anyone who is concerned with quality or comfort. You get what you pay for.

  Quite, relaxing condo. Perfect for our family of four to come back to after a busy day exploring the island. Girls loved the pool. Although it was a drive to most of our activities, I would recommend this condo. No problems with anything. Thank you Bitsy, it was a great week vacation for our family.

  Stayed here with my wife on my first trip to Oahu. After staying here, I would never in a million years stay in Waikiki. Worth the drive out of the city. Beaches are incredible and are used by mostly local folks, so it feels infinitely less touristy than Waikiki. Condo was beautiful, with everything we needed, including some beach gear that came in handy. The only thing I would recommend improving is to change out internet to make it wireless. Ethernet cord didn’t stretch very far. Easy check in/out process. Can’t say enough how much better our vacation was for staying here instead of a hotel. Only downside of location is that you’re probably 10-15 min away from food, although the Kuhuku Grill is worth the drive (best burgers on the island). Thanks Bitsy!

  Rented this property on short notice and felt very lucky. It was very clean and the kitchen was well stocked with appliances and pots/pans. We only stayed two nights, but would love to return. The back door overlooks trees, not into another condo, very restful. In fact slept in the living room on the futon sofa so that we could wake up to the view, did not use the bedroom, except for storage of our suitcases. It is right across the street from the pool and a 10-15 min walk to the beach. I live here on Oahu and still felt refreshed and away from "it all" as if I were on vacation here. Would recommend property to friends.

  Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children, sightseeing, tourists without a car.

  Aloha from Home in California. We just got back from our best Hawaiian vacation ever. Typically we stay in Kailua, when we vacation in O'ahu. Because the agent I spoke with, Bitsy Healey, was so nice, I decided to stay on the North Shore for a change of scenery. It was my best vacation choice. Our family (2 kids and us), did more and had a better time than staying in Kailua. We rented a condo at a place called Kuilima...it is on the grounds of the Turtle Bay Resort Hotel. Bitsy steered us to horseback riding on the beach, outdoor dining that was exceptional and very good for our budget, hikes through a woods that led to the banyan tree used for backround in the newest Pirates of the Caribbean movie (mermaid lagoon scene)!!! We had a marvelous and healthy vacation! I cannot recommend these condos enough. Ours was clean, tidy, had some unopened items in the pantry, completely stocked, and absolutely charming. The tradewinds keep the place breezy and comfortable day and night. We loved it. We absolutely will be renting from this agent, again. Thank you Bitsy!!! From the Hicks Family.

  We stayed for 11 nights July/August and overall found the condo adequate but in need of some attention. The shower was beginning to come away from the wall and the foot stool on the lounge collapsed when sat on; it was evident that a breakage had occured previously and the stool put together without repair; fortunately nobody was injured. There were other shortcomings (eg dud light bulbs and a bedside plug socket that didn't work), none serious but nonetheless irritating, which we reported on day 2 by way of a note dropped through the agents letter box but nothing had been attended to by the time of our departure. Maybe we put the note in the wrong box. Having said this we found the condo comfortable and clean and well situated for the beach and resort. The weather was, we were told, cool for the time of year and we had no problem keeping ourselves cool in the living area by leaving open both the entrance and sliding door from the lounge. The overhead fan helped. The aircon in the bedroom worked well but would be inadequate for cooling the whole unit. There is fast broadband via ethernet, not wireless. We don't know if the agent usually contacts guests to ask if everything is ok - ours didn't. Nor do we know when the condo underwent a thorough inspection and audit of furniture etc. Nobody checked us in or out. Our stay at Turtle Bay was most enjoyable and the condo reasonable value for money - bearing in mind the charges were at the lower end. We had the use of a car but took the local bus frequently - $2.50 takes you 100 yards or round the island. There is a bus terminal/stop about 200 yards away.

  Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car.

  Owner response: As this reviewer himself states---he put a note in the wrong mailbox? We did leave each other voice mails about the internet, which was working fine but he was confused about--got that taken care of asap. As for the bedside socket, you have to turn the wall switch on for that to work. I did contact him via email to ask if everything was OK, no response. He also says his stay was very enjoyable, with the condo clean and comfortable. I do take pride in accomodating guests, please feel free to call or email with questions, this is a great condo. Aloha
