  As others have mentioned, the accomodations look just like the pictures. Everything was perfect. Beverly was a wonderful hostess. From my inquiry emails at the beginning to our driveway conversation on the last day, she was warm, friendly and professional. The grounds are beautiful. BBQ'd one night but it rained...lol. Breakfast every morning on the lanai was exactly what I wanted. The 2 dogs were hysterical. Always happy to see you! Very private. Location is ideal. Close enough to walk to the beach for exercise every morning. My only regret is that I didn't break out a couple of bottles of wine to share with Beverly on the lanai for more conversation the last night. LOL. Highly recommended. Would love to go back again soon! Thank you so much, Beverly and Gary!

• Paradise!

  Let me start by saying we could not have picked a better place for our 30th anniversary! We were looking for privacy, along with a relaxing, clean, affordable "home" to come back to every evening after exploring. The pictures don't do the apartment/cottage justice and Beverly has stocked it with everything you need from luxurious towels to an array of kitchen appliances, dishes, bowls and utensils, and for the beach - towels, chairs, umbrella and cooler. Gary and Beverly were wonderful hosts and made us feel like pampered guests in their home without "hovering" over us or invading our privacy. The backyard and salt water pool were amazing, and we thoroughly enjoyed the BBQ, as well as the hammock. From the airport, we rented a Jeep, which we literally drove all over the island, stopping at many beautiful beaches along the way. Although the weather did not cooperate at all, we still went hiking to the lighthouse on the Kaiwi Shoreline Trail, which had breathtaking scenery, we went to a luau at Paradise Cove, ate and watched the sunset from the porch/marina of the Kona Brewing Company (delicious food as well as their beer), shopped and walked along Waikiki Beach where I went into Pandoras and bought a bracelet with Hawaiian memorable beads on it, and of course we visited Pearl Harbor (watch out for tourists as they can be pushy). We wanted to mingle and do business with the locals, so we did a good bit of shopping right in Kailua. We have a new grandbaby, so we bought him a blanket (made right in the store) at Baby Showers Hawaii and had a wonderful conversation with the owners. Our favorite place for coffee and lunch was the Kalapawai Cafe & Deli, which had delicious salads and goodies to take back to our cottage. We went antiquing and picked up several items there, and we also stopped at a roadside stand and found some tiki statues and a turtle painting on homemade paper. On Thursday evenings in Kailua, there is a farmers market downtown, which we stocked up on and also met a beekeeper, who invited us out to extract honey from his hives, which we did! We could not have had a better time in Hawaii or picked a better place to spend it. We absolutely recommend Hale Hali'a Aloha for couples wanting privacy and R & R.

  My husband and I decided to revisit Oahu for our one year wedding anniversary. We opted out of staying on busy Waikiki and wanted a more relaxing atmosphere. We came across the listing Hale Hali'a and it immediately caught our eye. Beverly welcomed us with open arms and gave us a walk through of the unit, provided suggestions, and a map detailing the route to the local beaches. The unit was fantastic and came with the bells and whistles. The rental came with beach towels, beach chairs, and a cooler. Perfect! If you don't feel like a beach day, the property has a fantastic salt water pool and lanai that overlooks the waterway which provides for some entertainment with the local outrigger club and kayaks passing. And for me the huge added bonus were Beverly's dogs, Machu and Pichu. They were very sweet and just wanted to enjoy the day with you. If we come across another flight deal to the island, we will definitely be showing up on Beverly's doorstep looking for a place to escape the rat race of LA.

  We enjoyed 17 delightful, quiet days here. The photos accurately reflect this clean, well appointed, property. Top notch appliances; closet built ins; and luxery linens made us feel pampered. Beverly and Gary provided helpful information about restaurants; sights to see; and where to shop (Foodland has a wonderful deli; fish market; and fresh locally grown produce). We were close to the beach - and to town. This property is lush, with whispering leaves and water features lulling you to sleep at night. The breezes kept us comfortable with no need for air conditioning, even tho it was an option. We spent pleasant hours with the two well behaved dogs, on the lower lanai, watching canoes slowly pass by. This is paradise and we will definitely return and recommend this property to any couple wanting a beautiful get away. We look forward to many more conversations and dinner with Bev and Gary.

  My husband and I found this rental to be all, and much more, than it promised to be. The suite was beautiful and well equipped, the grounds were a treat to wake up to each morning and come home to each evening. If privacy is what you would like, it is yours here. However, we especially enjoyed our interactions with both of the homeowners. Bev could not have been more helpful with her advice and suggestions about everything from where to eat, to where to go in the rain, to what to do in the case of the tsunami warning our last night. She made us feel like "company" instead of people she met in the course of her business! We are returning to the island in November and tried to book our time with Bev and Gary again. Alas, the rental was not available. Looking for a superior place to stay? This is it!!

  We loved staying here! The space was the perfect size for the three of us (mom + dad + daughter) for a long stay. It was extremely clean and well cared-for. Very comfortable bed, spacious bathroom and shower, great front room with a nice kitchen/eating area, sofa and TV. It is actually much better than the pictures show. The location is great as it is an easy walk to the beach, and also close to stores and restaurants. We went to a lot of beaches while in Oahu, but Kailua Beach right near the house turned out to be our favorite. And Kailua is a great town. It has everything, but is still small, friendly and easy-going. A big plus for us was the back yard area that is shared with the owners. It is a large beautiful garden with places to sit, a hammock, a grill and a wonderful view. There is a great pool which we used almost every afternoon to relax after our adventures. It was so nice to be able to enjoy a meal or a drink sitting by the stream/lake with the golf course and hills in the background. It was such a beautiful and peaceful place to come back to after the craziness of Honolulu. The owners were fantastic! They were so friendly and helpful with directions and ideas. They really know their stuff and are happy to share it. We always enjoyed our chats with them. And their two little friendly dogs were a huge hit with our daughter who loved to play with them. We will always remember the wonderful time we had at Hale Hali'a Aloha!

  It was our first time to Hawaii and coming from Las Vegas we did not want to stay in the tourist area. Found this place, ( after many hours of searching), and just knew this is where we wanted to stay. Boy, were we right!! This place is amazing - the grounds are absolutely beautiful, the pool was amazing and Macchu & Picchu - Beverley & Gary's 2 west highland terriers - are the cutest dogs & so friendly & playful!! What you see in the pictures is exactly what you get. The unit was spotless and anything you needed was in the unit. Beverley went out of her way to make sure things were perfect for us! The units location was a 7 min. walk to the beach through the residential neighborhood which was beautiful. We would stop at the Kalapawai Market on the way and grab some goodies and head for the beach. We would definitely recommend this place if you want a relaxing getaway!! We can't wait to go back and stay again!!!!!

  We had such a lovely time here! Travelling with teenage daughters, I had to accomodate both their interests with mine and keep everyone happy. We couldnt have found a better place then at Beverley and Gary's home...it was like our home away from home, everything that we needed was right here. It was immaculately clean, well furnished (right down to beach mats, beach bags and towels that we could borrow and take with us while we visited the island). The trinkle of the water fountain, with the winds blowing through the master bedroom windows is one of my fondest memory of this little treasure of a hideaway. My daughters enjoyed playing in the pool, with macchu and pichu and miss their "home away from home". We had such an awesome time, and wouldnt hesitate to recommend your lovely home to others!

  Beverly and Gary were great hosts. Beverly is also a wealth of knowledge if you are not familiar with Oahu .Everything was just as advertised which is very important if you are staying for a month. Rooms and furnishings were updated and modern which is important to wives I believe at least mine for sure. There is off road parking and the area is beautiful and safe if you choose to walk instead of having a car.The town of Kailua is within walking distance to a variety of shopping choices,restaurants and entertainment. Would definitely go back !!

  I've been meaning to write this review for a year. My husband and I stayed at this lovely home last March and it was fantastic in every way. It is beautifully decorated, private (even though connected to the main house) and impeccably clean! A great place to stay if you want to experience Hawaii away from the tourists and if you have very high standards for the visual appeal and cleanliness of your accommodations. Easy walk to the beach and great place to come "home" to after exploring the island. We were ready to move in!
