Les Granges Gites are 3 self contained gites which have been sympathetically converted from the Tobacco Barn and other farm buildings of a lovely 19th century country house in the Vezere Valley. Constructed in the local sandstone The Hay Barn, The Walnut Store and Le Roque Terrace, each have a different character of their own. Each has a living area/dining area with a small but fully equipped kitchen, and a double bedroom with a bath or shower, a terrace or decking area and access to a shared pool with a wooden gazebo, sun loungers and tables and chairs with parasols.

Situated just 2 minutes walk from the river Vezere and the village of Le Moustier the gites have a view of Le Roque St Christopher. This kilometer long cave inhabited from prehistoric times until the 17th century is spectacular when illuminated at night. Le Moustier is a pretty village 5 mins walk from the properties, although small it has a bar/restaurant/tabac and a boulangerie. There are delightful walks along the riverbank and for the more adventurous canoes and kayaks can be hired at several stages along the river.

Les Granges is within easy reach of the beautiful medieval towns of Sarlat and Perigueux and the famous cave paintings of Lascaux and Les Eyzies are only approx 15 mins drive away, well worth a visit. "The land of a 1000 chateaux" the perigord noir is home to many medieval castles and delightful medieval towns and villages each offering something different. Close to Sarlat are La Roque Gageac, Castlenaud, Domme and Beynac. The old town of Domme offers stunning views over the Dordogne Valley and Beynac castle is one of the most authentic and sympathetically restored buildings in the area and has been used as a location for a number of films.
