The region of Pelio is Greece's best kept secret. A narrow mountainous peninsula with lush Mediterranean vegetation and interspersed with beautiful villages. Often referred to as 'Greece's Switzerland', Pelio offers a wonderful combination of mountain and sea. Within a short car drive, one passes from beautiful beaches, to the marquis vegetation, and into deep shaded forests. Most of the 24 villages that form the central core of the region are listed as architectural preserved monuments. Highly recommended for the discerning traveler avoiding commercial areas. Attractions year-round
Our house is located in one of the most beautiful villages. It is a three floor old house fully restored a few years ago (exposed beams, fireplaces etc.). From our large south-facing terrace in front of the house there are unhindered views of the sea.
