This is the 2nd time I have rented this accommodation to host out of town guests. The space is very comfortable, self contained, and equipped with pretty much anything you'd need for a comfortable, independent stay. Not to mention, it's located in a beautiful neighborhood very close to Grand Avenue, so it's a lovely place for morning or evening walks as well. The hosts are wonderfully warm and helpful without being intrusive. Wonderful place, and looking forward to hosting people here again!

Just got back from a vacation at this duplex and it was great. There is a front room where they keep the kids toys so they are all contained in one room. Then the living room is large and nice. Then you have a large dining room. The kitchen is smaller, but that is how they were built in the day. The two rooms that are considered the bedroom are actually larger than I thought they would be. Then there is a back sunroom where the double bed is. This is a perfect apartment for a family of 4 cause then both kids can get a bedroom, one in the sun room and one in the room with a twin bed. The back sunroom is connected to the duplex and there is no seperation from the apartment. I am not sure if it has heating in that room but we were there in the summer. There are curtains on the back sunroom but if you have a late riser it may get a little too bright for them, we were lucky enough to have some cloud coverage while we were there.

Our stay here could not have been better! The apartment was very spacious, clean, nicely laid out, and was situated in a great spot (quiet street but within walking distance to busier areas). Beyond the actual apartment, the hosts were very friendly - willing to help us with transit questions, gave us great recommendations for interesting local spots, and even moved our car into a safe parking spot when a snow 'emergency' was called (we would've found out the hard way!!). Our only difficulty was with some new weatherstripping on the front door which made locking/unlocking a bit tricky but otherwise we couldn't have been more pleased! Thanks for sharing your space with us -- we hope to return to St Paul soon!

My husband and I spent 5 nights here in September and really enjoyed it. We cooked in the nicely appointed kitchen. Even hosted a dinner party and pictionary competition for 9 one night in the big dining room. Having bikes was a real plus, too. We walked to Whole Foods and the Blue Door (for deep fried cheese curds, of course). The neighborhood is quiet and pretty and the walk, bike or run along the river is just a few blocks away. Beds were comfortable. Thank you so much for your hospitality.

The location is convenient, the homey atmosphere is great! We felt right at home and the kids enjoyed the cheery colors. My youngest loved the toys, my oldest the wireless connection and we really appreciated the space, space and more space. A necessity when traveling with children. We really appreciated how nice Amber and Brooke were and they even loaned us a stroller becaue we forgot ours. I would highly recommend this property for anyone that appreciates old houses and a spacious, cheery, clean place to stay while in St. Paul.

Our family stayed here for our daughter's college graduation. It was wonderful--spacious, comfortable, well-located. The owners allowed us to have guests for a small open house after the graduation. We would definitely stay here again!

Our family of six stayed here for 4 days/3 nights. It was a wonderful experince. The duplex is very beautiful. We had plenty of space-even had other family members for the evening. We had full use of the kitchen, which made meals easy. It will make a good memory for our time together. Amber was always quick to return our calls or answer questions-very gracious and accomodating. We would consider this again if we are in the area. D&D from WI

Thank you for everything. Our daughters loved the dress-up clothes and our son loved the music play table and the soft soccer ball. Having toys, books, etc lightened our packing load.

Thank you so much for your kind hospitality. We came here from Oregon for the wedding of our son. It was a perfect retreat from the hustle & bustle of the week preceding the wedding. I will tell all of our friends about your duplex!

It was wonderful to be back in Minnesota and have a nice "home" like your own house. Our little girl was able to play outside....Thank you for the bicycles. We were so proud that we biked all the way to Uptown/Lake Calhoun, about 18 miles roundrip!

We stayed in Amber & Brooke's "vacation" home for a month & found it to be extremely comfortable & a home away from home. They have gone to a lot of trouble with detail & we didn't want for anything. The bikes were a great source of fun & exercise,& we did many miles on them. This place is a gem & I am hoping if we don't return we will be able to recommend it to some of our friends. Joan We really enjoyed our stay (for almost a month while I worked at U of M) in Portland Av St Paul. The house is great - spacious, reasonably priced and Amber and Brooke were friendly, flexible and accommodating - undoubtedly the highlight of our 2 and a half months travelling around the world. We will certainly come again if we can. Chris (from Australia)

Our family loved staying here. It sure beat the hotel room we usually end up staying in when we visit St. Paul. I highly recommed this rental. It's homey, has tons of space and all the amenities we needed. Location is terrific. We'll be back.
