Hi. I'm a teacher from a small private school in Denton, TX. Three other teachers and I are bringing a group of 18 high school students to New Mexico for a study trip, and we're looking for places to rent in your area for March 4-10. Is your home available on those dates, and if so what would the cost be for us to stay for with you? Thank you for the quick response. A group from our school actually stayed with you a few years ago and loved it. We would like to book these dates. What do you need?

We rented this home in conjunction with a destination wedding. House had not been cleaned on arrival, cleaners arrived later after we had done cleaning ourselves. Coffee pot was broken, remote in master bedroom missing. On second day, water service was shut off due to account balance. Tried to contact owner and manager by phone and email; no answer. We were forced to move to another rental through another source. Owner agreed to refund of unused time, but couldn't refund; wanted to pay interest because he was starting another rental and cash was short! Really???? Received two partial refund amounts, and got the balance back through credit card claim. House had other minor issues too numerous to detail - bottom line owner lives in another state and is not giving proper management to this rental - it needs some work - same issues as with other posts here, and web pictures do not give true status of home condition. If you're forced to rent this property, USE A CREDIT CARD, and document everything. I did not find the owner to be a credible person, and I would not recommend this home in its present condition and management style.
Owner response:We understand some of the frustration experienced by the guests. We previously had a manager overseeing the cleaning, the condition of the property and everything else. Unfortunately, the manager abruptly quit due to personal reasons in September and we were unable to fill the position immediately. As a result, there was a miscommunication between the cleaning schedule. In addition, because there was no property manager for a period of time, the City of Santa Fe failed to properly notify us of the water situation. There was an unexplained huge water leak at the property, we communicated with the City relentlessly until they remedied the situation. As luck would have it, the City broke the water valve during the process and were responsible for replacing it. The property was ready for occupation the same day, but the guests decided, of their own accord, not to return. The guests decided to leave the property before we were given any chance whatsoever to respond to the issue. In regards to the refund, we were not even required to do so since the issues we fixed within a reasonable time period - due to the City of Santa Fe working hours. However, we offered the refund for the remaining schedule with interest, which was above and beyond what any hotel would have done. We are out of state owners but we do currently have a new reliable property manager in town. We have also visited the property numerous times in order to maintain a better condition and fix all minor issues as a result of wear and tear from large parties we accommodate. In short, we take all issues seriously and have worked to fix them. We attempted to work with and accommodate this particular party to the best of our abilities.

We are a group of 7 school teacher's in our fifties. We arrived to a filthy house. The cooktop covered in grease, food particles in sink ,frig and countertops. Filthy tubs and stools. We called the owner and he had someone clean the next day and promised our cleaning deposit back. The air conditioner didn't work and during the day the thermostat read 86. The owner knew it was broke and it was not repaired. We could not cook dinner in the house because of the heat which added to our expenses. Upon returning home owner never answered emails or phone to get deposit and cleaning fee back. I spent hours of time working with Visa to get my deposit money back and never could get cleaning fee back. It took 3 months to get the deposit back through Visa, not the owner. I would NOT reccomend this house. It's a shame because it is a nice size. Needless to say we were all very disappointed.

We really enjoyed this home - it was the perfect size - the accommodations were perfect. The kids, and the Dads, enjoyed playing "touch" foot ball in the back yard.. We were celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary, there were 8 adults and 7 kids, (ranging in age from 7 to 20). The home was clean, the kitchen had everything we needed. As my son and his family live in Santa Fe, we would probably rent this home again. I would recommend this property to a friend or relative.

Needs some TLC

Lovely home, good bones, but the home needs some TLC. I rented this property for a group of photographers from all over the country; we wanted a comfortable home base from which to explore Santa Fe and Taos. Our favorite part of the home - the large eating area/table in the kitchen - perfect for the six of us! Some minor upgrades are so needed - a thorough cleaning and some fresh paint would be a great start. The beds are fine, but the towels are sadly lacking; for six women, we really needed more. In addition, we found dirty linens in the laundry area when we arrived - hard to tell what was clean and ready to go, and what needed laundered from the last guests. In addition, I had challenges getting my damage deposit back in a timely manner. I love Santa Fe and Taos - visit frequently. While I loved the location of this home, I would not recommend this rental to a friend.
Owner response:Traveler comments: Lovely home, Good bones, Loved the location, Perfect for the six of us! Owner Comments: We have purchased an additional 24 luxury bath towels, hired a more professional cleaning service, have hand polished plaster walls, and have eliminated damage deposits in favor of a small insurance fee. We welcome constructive comments.

This welcoming, warm and elegant property was the perfect home base for my 40th birthday celebration. My husband, sister, niece and friends all had a wonderful stay, thanks to the comfortable accommodations, the great location and the lovely landscaping. Thanks for the lasting and joyful memories!
