Victorian Ocean side cottage. Completely restored, in old kid friendly neighborhood. Dine on wraparound porch while the sun sets over the water. The beach is just down the hill, a five minute walk to beach and Oak Bluffs Harbor.
After the beach, walk to cottage and have after-swim shower in outdoor shower by spacious back deck. The deck behind the house is secluded facing wooded parkland. There is also room for off street parking and parking a boat trailer.
The upstairs bedrooms have cathedral ceilings, and each bedroom has a newly installed skylight to insure cool breezes (electric mobile fans available for each bedroom). The master bedroom opens onto a balcony that overlooks the water. At night the bell buoys can be heard ringing softly through the night.
Kitchen is fully equipped with all new appliances. Full bathroom off kitchen has all new fixtures, as does upstairs half bathroom. Mudroom off kitchen provides space to store beach gear and extra luggage. Washer and dryer located here.
Living room and dining area has the original random width pine floors recently restored. Some of the original 1880s chairs and tables are still in use, but new comfortable sofas and chairs are excellent for napping, socializing and watching sail boats cruise by.
Walk to Circuit Avenue, Oak Bluffs center for many restaurants, boutique shopping, harbor, outdoor band concerts and Oak Bluffs famous Flying Circus, the oldest operating carousel in America. |
