Our trip started off with rain, but ended with fabulous weather. House was ok. You could not really see the gulf from the widows peak. Mosquitos were terrible. Bug spray will be needed the moment you step outside. House was ok. A little run down. Killed 2 palmettos in the house, but keep in mind it had been raining. ALOT. Not sure if I would stay in this house again.
Recommended for:Girls getaway, romantic getaway, age 55+, tourists without a car, pet owners, sightseeing.

We just returned from a week at this home on North Captiva. The owners were very nice and answered all our questions before we went down to the island. When we arrived, we were met at the dock and helped with all our luggage and groceries. The home is less than 3 min from the dock and we were pleased to find it a very short walk to the beach. It takes about a one min.and you are on the beach. The home is decorated nice and we found everything in working order. I have to say that we rent homes each year at the beach and this home was the most comfortable we have ever stayed in. The beds were wonderful and I liked them as much as I like mine at home. There is a king in the large master bedroom and two full/queen beds in the second bedroom. They have everything that one needs for a beach trip at the home. Chairs, beach towels, and various other items are provided. A club membership comes with the home so you are able to access a pool and other things like a large ice maker.(the ice from the ice maker can be used for drinking water as it is filtered and you don't taste sulfur like you do in most Florida homes) There is a large TV with sat and internet connection along with DVD and music. The owners provide you with a golf cart to get around. The island is perfect for those who want to get away from it all. Our only problem on the island was the mosquitoes. They are OK during the day but at night are really bad. Take deep woods off. It worked the best. Loved this place though and will go back. Thanks Micheal and Toni for sharing your home with us my family had a great time. Oh, and your other house three doors down that my brother had was just as nice. I would stay at "Nibbling on Sponge Cake" also.

Just completed second visit to this beautiful home located one house from a stunning Gulf shore beach. Bright, cheery and beautifully decorated island retreat perfect for anyone wishing to unwind from the day to day pace back home. You may not even turn on the large flat screen t.v. the entire time you're there---we didn't. Fall asleep to the hypnotic sound of the waves on the beach and you'll look forward to making this your reason to look forward to next winter. Property management on the island is prompt and helpful in answering any questions or concerns regarding your stay.

From the moment we were greeted on the island to the moment we left, our experience was top notch. Lovely,lovely beach house, decorated tastefully with the most comfortable beds I had ever slept on. Owners were accessible and accomodating. Would recommend without hestiation.
