Great Location! Pet Friendly! Walking Distance to Everything!

This is one of the best locations in Gulf Shores. It is located directly in front of the main beach with an incredible view of the Gulf of Mexico. You don't have to peak between two houses to see the Gulf and you don't have to sneak between someone else's home to get to the beach.
You are within walking distance from some of Gulf Shores best restaurants including Desoto's, Bahama Bob's, the Pink Pony and The Hangout. There is plenty of shopping within walking distance and even a small convenience store on the next block.
This is the place to be during the Shrimp Festival in October. It is also a front row seat to the 4th of July fireworks display. You'll be directly across from the west stage during the Hangout Music Festival. If you want a break from the crowd, you can sit on the balcony and hear the music.
"Escape" is the place to stay if you want to be in the middle of everything but don't want the hassles of waiting for an elevator, finding a parking place, or noisy crowds.
This is a large 1,500 square foot, 3 BR, 2 1/2 BA home. There is one bedroom on the main level with a queen bed and private bath. The living room has a queen sleeper sofa and a half bath. On the second floor there is a king bedroom with its own private balcony. There is a Jack & Jill bath that connects it to a guest room with 2 twin beds. All bedrooms have new, comfortable mattresses.
If you need more room, you can rent the adjoining duplex (see listing 179276 and 137201). It also has 3 bedrooms and sleeps 8. This is a perfect place for large family reunions or corporate retreats.

My family and I really enjoyed our stay. There was everything we needed at this location. The beach was right across the street with easy access. The only thing I suggest when people stay here is to shop at Walmart on 182 for your food. It is so much cheaper than Winn Dixie or Publix. We plan on returning again next year.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, families with young children, pet owners.

We spent a week at this lovely location with 3 adults, 4 children and one small dog. We enjoyed how close it was to everything, the amazing beach views and sounds, and ease of beach access. The home was neat, very comfortable, spacious and very kid friendly. We were very thankful to have 3 bathrooms and a washer and dryer! Not to mention the hot water seemed endless! There was also plenty of blankets, towels & washclothes to go around. We ate most of our meals there, having plenty to work with and cook with in the well equiped kitchen. My only conerns were the noise level from the street (I tend to be a light sleeper) and being on the busy street gave me some anxiety because of my small children. However, I am happy to report that no one had any trouble falling or staying asleep. I was pretty impressed how well my kids & myself slept! Also we had no incidents with the street traffic, as long as we practiced safety and stuck together while crossing. My kids (& husband) loved having plenty to watch on cable TV and in almost every room. How spoiled! ;0) I liked having the WiFi to check up on my e-mails, etc. Anne was very friendly and helpful in getting our stay booked, helping us find a place to rent a crib, and getting us settled in. We are so grateful to have had this opportunity to take a much needed family vacation, and are looking forward to next year!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers.

My family and I rented the beach house for the week 8/4/12-8/11/12. There were 10 adults, 2 children and an infant. The beach house was very nice, very clean and we had plenty of room. The photos on the website were reflective of property. We were able to see the beach from the balconies and only had to cross the street to get to the beach. The beach house was easy to find and keys were easy to get. We thought it might be hard to get acroos the street but traffic was not too busy and cars were very considerate about stopping. There were stop lights within a block each way. All items needed for the stay were at the house. We had a good time at the Gulf Shores Zoo, enjoyed walking on the Pier, loved the Hangout Restuarant and it was easy to get around whether we were walking or driving. We would definitely return. The owner was very friendly and easy to get a hold of. Our security deposit was returned within one week. A great vacation at Gulf Shores was had by all. This was the first time we used VRBO and were very pleased with everything.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, adventure seekers.

My family and I had a wonderful time in this duplex which sleeps 14 and which we filled to capacity. The listing was very accurate regarding the location and the facilities. The property was clean and well-maintained. Most of the activities and restaurants were within walking distance or a short drive - played golf twice, rented bikes, heard some good band music, ate a lot of seafood and souvenior shopped. The public beach across the street was beautiful and well-maintained. The only difficulty that I had was with the lock box getting into the A side. The lock box didn't seem to like me. But I would definitely recommend the property to friends and relatives.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway.

Close enough to everything, but not right in the middle of all the noise and traffic. Direct access to beach within short walking distance. It was so nice to have plenty of room for everyone. Another reviewer mentioned that the beds were not very comfortable, but we all slept very well! Nice balcony and beautiful views, great extras like the sand shower, well outfitted kitchen, extra blankets, sheets, and pillows, etc. Extremely nice and helpful owner. Can't wait to go back!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners.
Owner response: Thanks so much for setting the record straight about the beds. They're practically brand new & I think they're more comfortable than my bed at home. It's good to hear you had a great time and I hope you will come back & stay again.

The house was nice and it was clean but the beds were not very comfortable and the washer and drier were stackables so if you take more than a couple people you are doing several loads of laundry per day to keep up as you can not put much in them. Our overall experience was good and the facilities were right across from the beach so you could walk easily. Owner and staff were very helpful and easy to work with would rent from them again. If you are going to Gulf Shores, we would recommend eating at the Shrimp Basket, Scoops and Ribs & Reds, would NOT recommend Live Bait as the staff was not that great nor was the food for what you will pay. If you are going to Cosmos, make sure to make a reservation as you will not be able to dine without one but their website does not tell you this.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway.

When we first booked the house, we were worried about the area possibly being too crowded or heavily-trafficked, but the street turned out to be easy to cross and traffic moved as well as can be expected in a tourist town. The area AND house were clean and family friendly. We really loved the view and the balconies (Dad took up residence on the top one.) Such a great location- you literally leave the house steps, cross the street, and are standing in the beach sand. Also, the house was well-stocked with kitchen supplies and utensils that we didn't think to pack (such as shrimp deveiners) and extra blankets (which came in handy because the air-conditioning worked so well that we actually got cold.) My favorite part was waking up and drinking my coffee on the beach for my 48th birthday! The house was great in many ways, but among the highlights were the broad channel selection of the cable television and the life-saving sand shower in the carport. Overall, the house gave us no trouble and allowed us to enjoy an amazing week. We did not want to leave and return to reality!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, pet owners, adventure seekers.

This place is great and the service is over the top. I have never worked with such gracious people in my life. The views are great. I cannot say enough about this place. I have alreadly booked for next summer. We were there over the Fourth of July and could see the fireworks as if we were sitting on top of them. Everything is within walking distance. I only cranked my truck 2 times during the entire week. I love this place.Recommended for: Families with young children, pet owners.

My family and I spent the last week of May at the Escape. The location is the best - walking distance to gift shops and The Hangout, we all loved it! We also enjoyed the short walk across the street to the beach. Anne, your pet friendly personality is very much appreciated. We will be back. Thanks for everything.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers.
Owner response: Thanks, Beth. I hope you, your family and your dogs come back again.
