My family and I had a wonderful stay at Dan & Chris' Hilltop Retreat this past July. Since it was my wedding weekend, we were looking for a place that would be both great for a relaxing weekend and a beautiful setting for our rehearsal dinner. As beautiful as their home looks in the pictures, the real thing is even more spectacular. The accomodations are wonderful -- a clean home with everything you need for a comfortable stay. I highly recommend this home...so much so, that I look forward to staying their again soon!

I took 7 of my girlfriends and I to the "Napa Retreat" for a Bachlorette Weekend and we had a fantastic time! We were looking for a relaxing weekend under the sun in luxurious accomodations and this is just what we got! The house is fantastically modern and still offers the comfort you are looking for in Napa. The beauty of the surrounding hills sets the backdrop for lovely outdoor cocktails and casual dining on the huge wooden table by the pool. A home entertainment system is all set up and ready for your ipod, and plays music indoors and out. The kitchen is fully stocked, our group ate all meals at "home" except for one. If you are looking for seclusion, privacy and breath taking views this home is perfect! Be aware that the location of this home is quite far from St.Helena/Calistoga (about 40 minutes driving very windy roads) so be prepared to have a DD if wine tasting. And, be ready to share the property with some large bugs! I would ABSOLUTELY reccomend this home, it is perfect for groups or a romantic getaway! \ Cheers!

Stunning hilltop retreat - better than we imagined

We just returned from a great Northern California getaway, with five memorable nights at this special property. We weren't quite sure what to expect as we traversed through the hills from St. Helena but as we entered the property through the stone and iron gates and meandered up to the house, we knew we we had arrived someplace special. The home sits alone on top of a hill with stunning vistas from every angle. The remoteness of the property soon became one of its highlights as we felt both secluded yet close enough to wineries and restaurants should we choose to venture off the property, which we never did. The house has all the modern amenities one would want, with style and many unique features (we loved the indoor planted trees that met us in the entryway) that surprised us. It was even better than the pictures. The entertainment system was so advanced that it took us a bit to figure out but a helpful call to the owners was quickly returned and they walked us through it. Words can't describe how spectacular the pool is. We spent many hours lounging, swimming, reading and bbqing, and the stars at night were so close you could almost touch them. We brought our two young daughters who were quick to discover the tree house where they picnicked and played freely. We initially rented the place to celebrate my wife's birthday and we had several friends and family members join us one afternoon - a time none of us will soon forget. We hope to return to this stunning hilltop retreat in the near future. The owners could not have been more helpful, from the moment we inquired about the property. They even called to ensure we were enjoying ourselves. Their "property concierge" Lynn was also terrific. She opened the property for us just before our arrival and came back after we were settling in to ensure all was fine. It is easy to tell why they chose this location as their own family getaway. They have put a lot of time and energy to make it so special and we were fortunate that we found it on VRBO so that we could have a handful of terrific days there.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The views are breathtaking and it's so quiet. The house is perfect for 2 to 6 people and has plenty of space. The home is extremely well maintained and has everything you could ever ask for. We'd highly recommend this rental to anyone who wants to stay in a very unique property and location, as well as have a very memorable visit to the Napa area.

WOW! The drive was very fun but pay close attention and drive safe. We celebrated a very special milestone at Dan & Chris's home and now want one for our own. Huge acrhictectual buff and the layout design feature and outdoor serenity, nature, stars and privacy was AWESOME. We had local chefs come to the home for private dinners Dary Matsumoto & Adam Goldring as well as famous organic napa vintner, special friends and family coming and going... The memories were made to last a lifetime and the desire to return very strong. We arranged a limo service to pick us up for a beautiful dinner at Auberge du Solei. Yes a stretch limo can make it up the long rural drive. Heaven is in Pope Valley... Go figure! We will be back....
