You will be staying in our Grandparent's 1925 beach house that we divided and rent out as 6 fully furnished seaside vacation rentals. You are renting Unit #3.
This is a small beachfront studio apartment that has views down the beach. It is perched up on the second floor and has a deck that you can sit out on and enjoy the cool sea breezes and read a book. Guests like the private stairs down to the beach. In this part of the 1925 house take in a panorama view of Boca Ciega Bay to your east and the warm emerald waters of the Gulf of Mexico to your west. Our location is spectacular with water all around you. This is the most coveted part of the island. We at located near the small beach community known as Indian Rocks, 5 miles south of Clearwater, where the key is only wide enough for a single row of homes. Stay here in this 1925 estate and you get that true feeling that you are living on an island. The unit may be 85 years old but we have all the modern amenities. We bought the finest queen sized pillow top bed, furnished the unit in Key West style rattan and a table for two, provide 70 channel cable TV & a DVD player, a cordless phone that is strong enough to reach down to the beach, and of course high speed wireless internet in case you need to bring that laptop.
This is just the place for a couple to get away.
We belong to " Superior Small Lodging" and undergo one of the toughest inspections in the industry. As one of the last historic beach houses we pride ourselves in offering something unique, an authentic piece of Old Florida that has withstood many a hurricane and is careworn from the nearly 60,000 guests since my grandparents opened the doors in 1966. With only 6 units we are small and personable and try our best to make you feel right at home. Each apartment is decorated in its own style and the private white sand beach is right out your door. We provide everything for a relaxing seaside vacation right down to the fresh fluffy beach towels, just like Grandma did. Enjoy!

Year Purchased: 1996
My Dad was a fighter pilot in Viet Nam. When he went off to war I was about 16. We stayed here with my grandparents. The beach is a wonderful place and made even more special staying at grandma's place. We learned to sail a Hobie Cat, experienced the full force of mother nature when a hurricane passed near by, and grew up in the slow pace of a small beach town where you know your neighbors. (Just don't let you cat wonder onto the beach. Tourist think its lost and take it home.)
I lived here from Junior High, High School, and went off to college in Gainesville where I met my wife, Kathy. When we graduated we went out west to visit relatives in Colorado where we settled and have raised 2 boys. It was satisfying to see them get the same pleasure of going to the beach that I had as a kid. They are alway introducing me to new adventures. IIn this picture Kathy and I are about to go up in this biplane once owned by Randolph Hurst to get back and forth to mansion in California. It was their treat for my 50th birthday. What a one of a kind way to see the barrier islands flying low along the shore just like the seagulls and pelicans. Hope you find your own kind of fun in the sun. Enjoy our family place in Florida.
Why the Owner Chose Indian Rocks Beach
My grandparents moved down here from New Orleans and turned the house and carriage house into 6 vacation rentals. They did this for 40 years. They turned over the keys to Kathy and me so it stays in the family for the next generation to enjoy sharing with great guests that come back year after year.
The Unique Benefits of this Suite
Far from the crowds. Most of the homes and condo's on this stretch of the beach are second homes to people living up north. Our guests remark " does anybody live there, we seldom see the lights on at night at these places that are next to yours?" So you pretty much share this 1925 beach getaway nestled in the sugar white sand with 5 other families, like a private retreat. Good way to make friends sitting in the teak rocks under the gazebo watching a red sunset at the end of a day.
