Apt #3: The unit on the second floor has a private deck that you can sit out on and enjoy the cool sea breezes and read a book. Guests like the private stairs down to the beach. With one of the finest queen sized pillow top beds and a nice comforter this is just the place for a couple to get away.
Apt #5: You can't get any closer to the beach in this ground floor studio apartment. Lie in bed and watch the palms sway in the breeze and the emerald green waves on the Gulf. Walkout your door and you are steps from the water. We've decorated in a beachy theme All the comforts of home with a full kitchen, dining for two near the beach side window. This is the secluded side of the house with an entrance all your own. Private sitting area just outside your door....Rocking chairs, ceramic table and bench with umbrella. Enjoy the view !!

About the owner: Curtis Westphal: My Dad was a fighter pilot in Viet Nam. When he went off to war I was about 16. We stayed here with my grandparents. The beach is a wonderful place and made even more special staying at grandma's place. We learned to sail a Hobie Cat, experienced the full force of mother nature when a hurricane passed near by, and grew up in the slow pace of a small beach town where you know your neighbors. (Just don't let your cat wonder onto the beach. Tourist think its lost and take it home.) I lived here from Junior High, High School, and went off to college in Gainesville where I met my wife, Kathy. When we graduated we went out west to visit relatives in Colorado where we settled and have raised 2 boys. It was satisfying to see them get the same pleasure of going to the beach that I had as a kid. They are alway introducing me to new adventures. In this picture Kathy and I are about to go up in this biplane once owned by Randolph Hurst to get back and forth to mansion in California. It was their treat for my 50th birthday. What a one of a kind way to see the barrier islands flying low along the shore just like the seagulls and pelicans. Hope you find your own kind of fun in the sun. Enjoy our family place in Florida.
