Nestled into a woodland forest in the Village of Sugar Mountain, this custom-built new log cabin, completed June 2007, is less than 2 miles to Sugar Mountain Ski Resort. With an elevation of over 4600 feet, cool breezes tantalize the spirit in summer, bring brilliant hues in autumn, and lush snow in winter.
This spacious cabin, decorated in a rustic mountain lodge theme, comfortably accommodates up to ten guests. With an open floor plan, three large bedrooms, oversized loft, and two and a half bathrooms, every comfort has been considered in furnishings, décor and functional design. The main floor master suite features a king size bed, direct access to the rear private deck stretching across the back of the cabin, and private master bathroom. The master bathroom has two large closets, double vanities, private toilet area, and a large tile-enclosed shower for two.
Upstairs, one large bedroom has a queen-size bed and comfortable rocker. With two queen beds, the other upstairs bedroom comfortably sleeps up to 4 guests, has 2 large closets and plenty of dresser space to accommodate its residents. Each bedroom in the cabin is equipped with a 20-inch flat screen TV and cable service. The loft between the bedrooms overlooks the great room and dining areas, providing additional sleeping with a double sized futon. The centrally located upstairs bathroom can easily accommodate additional space requirements, including playpens for small children.
On the main living floor, the open floor plan offers a spacious entry and foyer, great room, dining room and kitchen. The 20-foot stacked rock fireplace supports either gas or wood burning fires. A 42-inch LCD flat screen TV with cable service and DVD player are the perfect hosts for relaxing, viewing sporting events, or other entertainment. Soaring vaulted log ceilings continue to add to the charm and warm character.
With more than 2600 square feet, this rustic cabin is the perfect destination for large families and small groups wishing to tuck away into the North Carolina mountains and absorb the peace and tranquility the high country has to offer. In spring, summer and fall, enjoy the private rear deck and secluded view into the wooded forest abundant with wildlife and birds. The large covered portion of the deck allows you to continue to rock and enjoy nature at its finest during gentle summer rains. A seasonal creek flows to the side and rear of the home more than 9 months of the year. Step away from highway congestion and the stresses of day-to-day life as you relax and take in the beauty surrounding this luxurious home.
The kitchen has new stainless steel appliances, granite, and is fully equipped to support your culinary needs. Two large pantries, full size washer and dryer, and washtub are just behind the kitchen in a mudroom with easy access during inclement weather or returning from skiing outings.
In winter, the flat driveway provides for the easiest of access in and out during snow. Ample parking for 4 – 6 cars is provided directly in front of the lodge.
Nestled next to Sugar Mountain, the community of Banner Elk offers shopping, a good selection of restaurants, live theatre, and a full array of community events. Beech Mountain, also known as Ski Beech, is located 10 miles to the north of Sugar Mountain, and is another popular ski destination. Other popular vacation attractions such as Grandfather Mountain, Linville Caverns, Blowing Rock, Tweetsie Railroad,Valle Crucis and Boone are located less than 30 minutes away. |
