Just 25 minutes away, Kalamazoo beckons with bike and hiking trails, fine dining, a world class museum, and many shopping opportunities.
In the summer the fishing is great and swimming is relaxing. In the fall the colors across the lake are beautiful and in the winter there is ice fishing. Something for each season...

For a very quick trip, Lawton is only about 6 miles away and also, has good resturants, a grocery store, bank, a Dollar General Store, and a gas station. If you play golf there is a nice 9 hole golf course on the edge of town. In fact there are several courses from 5 to 15 minutes away. There are tennis courts right next to a nice climbing park for children. In this same park there is a shelter house and picnic benches scattered around.
There are numerous churches in Lawton and in Paw Paw, also.
If you don't feel like traveling, you may just want to relax in the large screened-in front porch and enjoy the lake view. This spacious room has a table and 4 chairs, two large, comfy wicker chairs, a table lamp, a wicker coffee table, and a chaise lounge with side table.
The kitchen/dining room is large and airy with ample work space. The kitchen is fully furnished with all the pots and pans and cooking things you need.
The roomy, comfortable living room and two of the bedrooms overlook the lake.
The private master suite with private bath is cozily tucked away and has a view of the lush greenery that surrounds the house. the view from the master suite is of the country side. When you wake up in the morning and look out the windows all you will see is a beautiful world and not a house in sight.
Big Cedar Lake is a great fishing lake, with the boat ramp just a short distance away! Rental boats are available, also. The number will be furnished upon request.

Owner's Profile
Why the Owner Chose Paw Paw
This was my mother's home. She loved the beautiful setting.
The Unique Benefits of this House
We love walking the quiet country roads nodding to the horses and seeing an occasional ground hog. The open farm fields and lush vegetation is a welcome view for us city dwellers.
We can also see a wide variety of birds, muskrats, an occasional Blue Heron, and a family of swan as they glide past the deck where we sit relaxing.
If we keep the bird bath full of water the birds keep us entertained with their bathing antics! That in itself is a stress reliever.
This is a quiet residental lake and not a resort. It is truly a home away from home. Yes, on the week ends at times you will have the jet skis but as the evening comes the silence falls. Sitting out on the deck and looking up into the black sky filled with stars and the beautiful moon, I find tranquility and peace.

Very quiet area. It really IS as close to the water as it looks. Caught bass and bluegill from the dock. Lots of comfortable seating, both inside and out. Stocked with everything we needed.

This is a lovely place to kick back and relax from the everyday pace of life. I have stayed here two times in the past 9 months and both times have found it clean, and comfortable. Truely a home away from home feeling. The owner is very nice to deal with. Great value and a great lake.

It was a great family getaway. The house is very cozy and spacious and the view off the deck is just gorgeous. There were 4 adults and 2 little kids and everyone enjoyed it. And the owner is very pleasant to deal with.

This is a lovely get away. The pristine Cedar Lake is right off of the beautiful deck. Great fishing, boating and swimming. The rooms are comfortable with excellent beds. The 1/2 bath is actually a bath with a shower. My family loved it ! It was quiet, the neighbors 2 doors down were nice and everything is nearby. We highly recommend it.

This fall I suprised my Fiance with a getaway weekend for his birthday. With so much going on with the wedding plans the owner and property manager made it so easy for me. He(we)loved the cottage. The view is perfect, the leaves falling, and watching the lake was beautiful. Even though we only lived 25 minutes away we forgot that we were so close to home. We felt very much at home in this cozy cottage. We can't wait to come back and see what its like during other Michigan seasons.

We had a great time! This comfy cottage saw some close card games out on the screened porch (away from bugs!) and we caught some fish, too. It has a large shady side and rear lawn that helped us beat the 90+ degree days in early August. I enjoyed wading in the front, catching bass! Yes!

A quiet, cozy, comfortable haven, away from life's fast pace. Easy to settle into and relax. The lake is beautiful, the area is very "country" and scenic. Shopping, dining, and entertainment are nearby if you need anything or want to see what might be happening in this part of Michigan.
