                Great Location in the heart of Waikiki, but best yet is an owner of multiple units who has resided on property for 32 years and has been involved in Hotel Management (four year degree in Hotel Administration), had a Contractor's License and has done numerous total and complete professional renovations. Others speak highly of the cleanliness, comforts not found in other rentals and the location on a higher floor, away from street noise and knowledgeable owners (Pat and Mana) who are written up in many travel books as a favorite(only our condos are listed as "Frommer's favorite for the last 15+years) or a "Star" type of operation.                             We have learned by experience that when you look at Pat's rates, what is offered, totally licensed and legal full time business and his complete package we do not feel it can be beat espicially for longer stays. We know it can't be beaten--been there and done that. Look at the virtual tour on this site and you can see exactly what we mean in Pat's clear and recent photos, reviews and 30 year track record/history-It is all there. Why deal with a lock box, keys mailed to you, owner's living off property or off Island or having difficulty in contacting the owner or lack of paperwork, reservations, Invoice and etc. THIS IS A PROFESSIONALLY RUN BUSINESS.

                            Recommended for: Age 55+.

                            I have stayed here before and plan on coming back again. Host was great and condo just like home with everything one needs for a long stay. Beach is close and property has large pool great gas grill and superb laundry facility. Condo was very clean and kitchen well stocked for a gourmet cook. Lanai was private and quiet and a great place to talk and relax. I recommend this condo to anyone looking for great value

                            We stayed here for 10 days in December 2011 and we were absolutely satisfied with the condo. We have never seen a cleaner place and a friendlier and more helpful owner. Pat treats his guests in a very familiar and helpful way. Ask him any question, he has a answer, you don't need to buy a travel guide book. We will come back surely. FANTASTIC

                            Owner response: This couple from Europe gave us 5 couples at one time from Europe (Norway, Holland, Spain and Germany). We enjoy people who enjoy Hawaii and this couple with their Mustang Convertible seem to be everywhere and we have bumped into each other several times which is unique. Christmas and the New years period is an excellent time to visit Waikiki and Honolulu as there is lot's going on.

                            This is the third year I have stayed at one of Pat's condos and as usual, everything was great. The condo is always ready when I arrive and very clean. Plus cleaning products and other essentials are provided, unlike many others where you have to buy them yourself. Still happy to recommend for a great stay in Hawaii.

                            Owner response: We are always looking for single travelers staying 1-3 months in the Low Season like the April-May and Sept-November periods where we can offer lower and excellent rates.                             I've Stayed in one of Pat's Condos for a month on 3 separate occasions. A couple of times I have booked with less than 2 weeks notice and it worked out OK. Great Location. Walking distance to the beach, shops, restaurants and bars.

                            If you're looking for your home away from home in Waikiki Beach, look no further. This condo ("The Honeymoon Suite") has it all. Ideally located to the beach and businesses in Honolulu (I was there on business and my husband was on vacation) we loved our condo with the private - feeling lanai, comfortable bed and full kitchen. It may not be modern but it's got everything you need and was a wonderful home for us while we were there. Check out the virtual tour on this site to see for yourself. We look forward to coming back as soon as we're able.

                            Owner response: Just a simple note: We are happy this couple enjoyed their Honolulu visit and had a positive "Hawaii Experience". Our vacation rental condos have all been furnished with 1980's/1990's good quality/style rattan furnishings. It is all kept in good condition and is a "Retro Look" that we convey in all of our rentals. This compares to chrome, brass, fully upholstered pieces, stone finishes/etc. which we have opted out of using. it is a little pricey doing repairs, continually reupholstering sofa sleepers/etc. but this look is the look of the "Tropics or Hawaii" and our decor theme. We have tried to use expensive Hawaiian Koa wood on our Hawaiian prints and other trim areas such as our floor to ceiling mirrors when possible versus metal frames/etc.

                            We have returned home after spending 2 weeks in this condo. Our stays at the Hawaiian King in Pat and Mana Winston's condos is always a pleasure. We have been coming back over the years and would highly recommend their accommodations to anyone. You are always guaranteed a very clean and well stocked condo. Having the owner on site is great should you have any questions or concerns.

                            This is our third year in the Honey moon suite(fourth coming up), as you can see we love this unit, the pictures on VRBO are accurate, it,s very clean, with all the amenities included for everyday living. We love the privacy on the lanai from the trees hanging leaves, letting the breezes through the unit, no need for the A/C to be on. We like the fact, that most of the quests come back year after year, nice to renew friendships.

                            Recommended for: Age 55+.

                            Owner response: This senior couple is a landlord's "Dream". Extremely clean and quiet, they enjoying some of the perks we have done, are conscientious guests and even take the landlord out to dinner at the end of their annual winter 3 month stays. I am happy that they have stayed at several apts/condos over the past 20+ years and with our condo no longer have the need or desire to go out and look elsewhere which can be more than time consuming and frustrating. It is like same time, same condo and a win/win for both owner and renter.

                            We had a fantastic time thanks to Pat! Right from the moment I emailed him (after a referal from Elmer) he replied fast and helpful. As we had never been to Hawaii before, he gave us suggestions for the best shuttle from the airport and how to get in touch with them. Our flight came in very late but our daughter had already checked in from Australia and Pat had gone over everything with her. We saw him the next morning and he had suggestions for tours, and great places to eat. We hit a heat wave when we were there - one day was 100degrees Farenheit - a little warm for us! We would love to go back and stay at Pat's again. We used The Bus to get around and two steps from our door was the express bus stop to every where on the island"!

                            Owner response: This couple represented what we desire from our guests. They were very clean, respected the condo, enjoyed Honolulu with their daughter and told us they had an accident with our new iron and they wanted to pay for the damage. Honesty in today's world is getting harder and harder to find, but they are welcome back whenever they can find time. We are lucky to attract this type of guest. A guest who isn't looking just for the cheapest or lowest price, but wants quality, respects the condo and it's upgrades and enjoys their stay and are happy with what we have offered them at a good and reasonable price.

                          About the owner: Patrick Winston has a background in Hotel Administration (Graduate of Washington State University-1974)and also held a contractors license, both perfect training for accumulating condominiums, upgrading to the highest standards and offering excellent prices for potential guests looking for 'AFFORDABLE QUALITY'. Pat and his wife Mana who live on property handle cleaning, repairs and check-ins of the day to day operations themselves which is quite rare in today's Waikiki vacation rental market. I am a 'HAND'S ON' person and the only original owner(since 1981) in this smaller condo/hotel who is 100% dedicated to assisting directly with each and every guest daily to help insure 'A QUALITY VACATION EXPERIENCE'. This is our main business and not a side business or part-time business run from off-island. In the Hotel Industry I would be called 'OLD SCHOOL' where I value the comfort and experience of each guest.

                          Why the Owner Chose Hawaiian King:
                          Back in 1980 when the Hawaiian King Hotel was being converted to the Hawaiian King through my furniture business the 'Winston Company' I furnished all 66 of the apt/hotel condos for the developer. The location was ideal, the apt. style layout of this condo was unique and having a full kitchen was an obvious advantage over the areas hotel rooms(no kitchens). As a licensed contractor in the 1980's I knew that this condo would take a $15,000-$20,000 renovation and be able to offer much more than hotel rooms or other condominiums running twice or triple my rate. I knew this was a win/win situation for both owner and future guests. With 'Hands On Involvement' something valuable could be offered that in the 1980's was a rare item and that was all the above put together: Hands on owner, living on property, buying and doing a quality renovations of this condo, offering this upgraded condo at 'bargain prices' and with this great ideal location helping many tourists gain access to assist in making their vacation a better one.
