ENJOY THREE OF THE ISLANDS' BEST RESTAURANTS AND A GROCERY STORE WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE OF OUR VILLA!
Indulge in a taste of tropical paradise at this prime Belizean getaway. With 5000 square feet of property for your enjoyment, this three story house is perfect to comfortably accommodate 14 people located at the fringes of the Caribbean Sea on Ambergris Caye, this completely BEACHFRONT villa offers many amenities to make your vacation to the island one that will keep you coming back again and again.
This home boasts two spacious balconies where the breathtaking view of the clear blue waters of the Caribbean Sea and egdes of the Barrier Reef is in front of your eyes. On the second floor patio, the large pool reaching down to 11 feet is available for anything from lap swimming to just splashing around in the refreshing water. However, there is an ample amount of room around the pool for relaxing in a chair or having a BBQ. Moving up, the third floor veranda has plenty of space as well to sit in a chair with a good book or to enjoy the amazing island breeze. Also, the flat roof shares incredible sunsets, views of the sea and lagoons for a place to just get away. We have added a beautiful owner's unit on the ground floor connected to the villa to accomodate your extra guest. An additional fee would apply for this.
Villa Aurora wouldn't be complete without the 300 foot long private dock with a palapa at its boundaries for shade protection from sun and tropical rains. In addition, the space beneath offers benches to rest on after a long day of fishing or just to appreciate the tranquility from the wind and sea. Plus, there is a full length hammock where one can doze off. In fact, all you need is a couple pillows and blanket to have a camp out on the dock where you can admire the sparkle of millions of stars in the sky, a truly unique sight.
If you would like to swim or snorkel from the dock, there are stairs for easy access in and out from the shallow waters. This front dock is easily accessible by water taxis, dive boats, and fishing captains to make your stay a breeze, as a fun day of fishing, scuba diving or a afternoon in town is only a call away. Additionally, behind the house, the lagoon is situated where a short dock can be found. Also, for the avid fisherman, catches are obtainable off both docks.
Inside the grand villa, there are four bedrooms and three bathrooms, as well as a sofa bed for extra sleeping room. There is one bedroom on the second floor and three on the third, and all of the rooms have an expanse of space for your disposal to keep you always content. Two bedrooms on the third story have entrance to the veranda. The rooms present the outside from full length windows replacing a wall that allows the rays of the sun to flood the room all day. The bathrooms are connected to two of the third story rooms. The third bathroom is adjacent to the bedroom on the second story. All bathrooms have showers. In the master bathroom, there is a bathtub and colossal separate shower. This shower is exclusive because of its non-existent ceiling, meaning a washing in the warm, fresh air of the tropics, simply an extraordinary cleansing feeling.
Along with the rooms, there is a cozy living room where more than 500 channels are waiting from the satellite television that you can watch from a snug couch. There is also an enormous kitchen (with all the essentials to create a delectable meal) that extendes to an area for dining. Lastly, this humble abode contains a laundry room with washer and dryer to make your vacation less complicated.
For all your vacation needs so that it is one filled with activities and fun, there are countless places and individuals to guide you on a fascinating experience. With a fishing captain, there are various spots in over 2000' of water less than 5 minutes from the dock within or past the reef that are teeming with massive fish that can be cooked back at the house. For fisherman, your haven for fishing is located extremely close. Also, snapper are available at the front dock and the lagoon is home to tarpon and barracuda. Other fish that can be caught inside or outside the reef include: marlin, tuna, snapper, grouper, dorado.

My family (4 adults, 2 seniors, and 3 children ages 4-8) had a great time staying here with a few caveats. The villa: The place is nice. Some of the living room furniture is dingy as a previous reviewer stated, but that should not affect your stay. There was plenty of space so the 9 of us never felt cramped or on top of one another. The kitchen was more than adequately stocked with any item you need for cooking (minus the food). The 2 features of the house that I found least desirable were: 1) the narrow winding steps you need to take to get upstairs (difficult to get luggage up and down) and 2) the middle bedroom guests for simplicity sake share the master bathroom. I would advise weak bladder guests to stay downstairs or in ensuite bedroom upstairs. If this is not possible, light sleepers definitely should not sleep in the master bedroom. Pool :) The caretaker: Erbano made our staff extremely pleasant. He was very attentive to our needs, including helping us catch fish at the end of the pier each night as well as filleting them for us. Our vacation would have been less enjoyable without him. Food: Bring as much food as you can from back home. I had 1 1/2 suitcases packed just with food. Things to pack: Oatmeal packets, Bisquick pancake batter in plastic jar, Cookies, Tuna (not in cans), Rice, Granola Bars, Fruit Snacks, Mac and cheese, Microwave popcorn, Tea, Coffee, Hot Chocolate, Wraps, Milk (almond and rice if you like it. there's only whole milk on the caye). If you want to bring meat/chicken you will have to fill out special papers to give to customs. The Jambel restaurant next door wasn't open consistently and is way overpriced for the portions received. Being 5 miles from town, you'll be on your own for food. Some restaurants provide free round trip transportation if you dine with them (we didn't choose this option). Also you can't drink or cook with the tap water, so bottled water is a must. Transportation: We rented a golf cart for the week ~$298 US. I wouldn't rent from G and H. They don't maintain their carts properly. My cart didn't reverse and the parking brake didn't work either. If something goes wrong they will charge your $20 just to come check your cart. The ride to town takes about 30-40 minutes. It's very bumpy in the beginning, but gets smoother as you approach town. Water taxi is expensive $11 US per person each way. Food prices are cheaper in town. Excursions: Plan your own. Armando from Tropic Ferry was MIA for the week.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.

We visited Vilal Aurora in February with a group of 4 couples. We were picked up at the airport in a van and stopped at a grocery store, vegetable stand and meat shop before boarding our boat to our villa. Don't expect to see a supertarget. The grocery store was limited in what we could purchase and prices were about one and a half times those of home. You should pack a few things in your bag that travel well like coffee, peanut butter, snacks. We purchased some beer before the boat trip to our villa since we had to wait for another group to arrive. Belikin is basically the only beer they serve there but it is good. We also enjoyed rum punch on the boat although they ran out since we had a couple of other groups on our boat. Once we arrived at villa aurora, the caretakers next door (consuello and javier) welcomed us and brought our bags to our rooms. They were awesome the whole trip. There were fresh flowers in vases around the home. During the week we enjoyed two snorkeling trips, one was not too far from our place. A guide name Ernesto took us fishing, spear fishing, snorkeling and conch diving. He cleaned the conch on board and made fresh ceviche for us. Awesome!! We also spent time at the pool which was beautiful. It was a little windy when we were there but it was a warm breeze. The guys also did fishing off the dock and caught grunts and snappers that we cooked up for dinner. The last day we went cave tubing on the mainland before we left for the flight home. It was really fun. We went on a day that the cruise ships were not there so there weren't many people. We also saw howler monkeys from the river. The accommodations were nice. The beds were very comfortable. The living room furniture is a little dirty and probably needs cleaning or replacing soon. Our on-site caretaker was sick so we had a couple people fill in. They were super nice and cleaned up the beach and were there if we had any questions. The conceirge, Armnado, will coordinate your transportation, and any activities you may want to do. There is a cute little grocery store about a 15 minute walk each way in case you need to restock. Many places took credit cards and you may also use US money but will give you change back in Belize $ Be sure to use up your Belize money before you leave. Also bring snorkel gear since you can snorkel right off the dock. It would have been nice to have kayaks at the villa. We would definately stay again!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

We had a fantastic stay at Villa Aurora. I don't think the pictures do it justice. The huge sandy area out front became a daily sports arena for the kids. The beach is very nice but expect to do your swimming in the pool due to the shallow water at the shoreline. We had kids from age 1 to 7. The pool was a bit deep for the little ones so I suggest bringing a float for non-swimmers. There are about 4 good places to eat in walking distance. The small grocery is about a 15 minute walk each way but they will deliver if you order $15 or more. The caretaker was awesome. He took care of any need we had and keep the exterior spotless. He was friendly and available but not intrusive. Don't count on using the road if it has rained recently but the water taxi is convenient. Many restaurants have a pick up and drop off service.Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

We are so lucky to have found such an amazing paradise! Fortunately we have had the opportunity to stay at Villa Aurora 3 times in the past 6 months! Paradise. My son (12) and I have travelled all over the world, the only continent we have not visited is Antarctica, and our favorite place we want to return to is Villa Aurora. The home, fishing, snorkeling, service (the property managers live on site), the whole environment is perfect for us. I can recommend this home to any family or group that is looking to experience a special holiday.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

The pictures do not do this place justice; it is an island dream home. The house was immaculate, it has a huge kitchen area, great for cooking. The pool is on the second flood and is a dream come true. There is a palapa on the end of the dock with hammocks - we refered to this as our thearpy room. The couple who are the caretakers are extremely helpful and made to visit seamless. They helped with everything from taxi service to what to eat at local restaurants. Our activities included scuba, diving, fishing, dinning out, relaxing at the house, swimming and horse shoes. We had 10 in our party and we're very comfortable. Highly recommend - loved it.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

What a wonderful experience! The villa was as exactly as described. Our group was greeted at the airport and transported to the villa by their wonderful property manager who helped with all our needs. We fell in love with San Pedro and hope to make it back soon.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

We stayed here in September 2008 for 1 week We loved Belize , the House was nice and comfortable the pool was great and cool for the kids every morning we went to town with the ferry for cappuccino and getting the grocery's for the day . there is nothing by the house , you are on a island . you are in the middle of nowhere it feels you alone on the island but there are two great restaurants on either side of the house , a 15/20 minutes walk at night We went snorkeling one day in shark alley , never seen so many fish and sharks in my life. When you arrive in San Pedro town you think you arrive on fantasy island . Love to go back againDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 4/4

We (10 adults) stayed at Villa Aurora over Thanksgiving week and the house (and our vacation) was just spectacular. The house is fully furnished, well appointed, and exactly as described. While reasonably far north of town we found the seclusion and beaches nicer and great to be so close to the reef. Further it was beyond easy to get into town when we desired. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook our meals but the house is also within easy walking distance to some of the islands best resorts and restaurants. Would recommend this vacation rental again and again.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 3/3
