Lilac Lounging....

Guest: Elaina (Duluth, Georgia)
Date of Stay: 07/03/11 Review Submitted: 07/13/11

We arrived with 3 adults and 6 kids, ages 3 - 16 and were pleasantly surprised with the Lilac Lounge. Despite the age of the house, the owners have done everything that they could do make it a modern experience and have still managed to maintain the charm of the original farmhouse. We used this location as a jumping off point for lots of great day trips within a couple of hours - including Monticello, Luray Caverns, Skyline Drive in Shenandoah National Park, and Washington, D.C. - all are within 2 hours of "the lounge". We found the kitchen to be well stocked and loved that fact that there was a grill to use. The house does not have air, but honestly with the fans and the mostly overcast days, it was not a problem at all - we were comfortable especially in the evenings. We booked this house at the last minute and were uncertain of what to expect, but we were more than pleased and would definitely book it in the future. Meg is a great resource and we felt like we could call her with any questions we had . Thanks for a great week at " The Lounge" we had a great time and made lots of new memories with old friends!

Owner response:We are thrilled that you loved the Lounge as much as we do! It's refreshing to know that you can get away, and spend a few days without air conditioning, cable or Internet and still enjoy yourselves.
