Stylish and hip, this new chalet is nestled in “The Kettle” of Massanutten Resort, surrounded by mountains offering privacy and serenity. Treat yourself to an escape from urban crowds and pressures, and come unwind in Virginia's Beautiful Shenandoah Valley.
Our cozy home features a main level great room with floor to ceiling windows, gourmet kitchen, spacious dining area, TV nook, and deck overlooking woods with babbling creek. The three bedrooms (linens and bath towels incl) offer the following configuration: main-level, king-bedded master and two upstairs bedrooms (1Q and 2T).
A huge outdoor hot tub completes your visit. With views of the slopes, it's a perfect way to end a day of skiing and tubing!! Comfortably seats 7 adults.
Our home is very warm and inviting, with comfortable furnishings offering a classic retro mid-century modern decor. We have had a great time traveling to estate sales for authentic and whimsical pieces that continue to delight our guests. But we have not forgotten modern conveniences...free internet, cable flat screen TV, dishwasher, washer/dryer, air conditioning, DVD player, CD player, etc.
The kitchen boasts anything a chef could need. And we make it easy: house includes all the “under the kitchen sink” necessities*. Just pack your clothes and food, bring a book, and you are all set. Don't forget your bathing suit for the hot tub!
Ideally located in the resort, at the top of the mountain, less than 5 minutes from on-site resort amenities: skiing, year-round tubing, ice skating (new!) spa, indoor/outdoor waterpark (biggest on the East Coast!), terrific hiking, golf courses, horseback riding, skateboard park, fishing, mini golf, racecars, playgrounds, Tuesday night concerts, summer festivals, etc.
We have 70 positive traveler reviews - come enjoy our little slice of paradise at THE NUT!!
*We choose to keep stocked for our guests: dish soap, scrubbies/sponges, brillo pads, dishwasher detergent, dish towels, paper towels, napkins, trash bags, cleaning spray, coffee filters, tin foil, saran wrap, big ziplocs, little ziplocs, spices, cooking spray, flour, sugar, sweeteners, salt/pepper, toilet paper, disinfectant wipes, laundry detergent, flashlights, and bug spray. This is in addition to linens, pillows, bath towels, and extra blankets.
We strive to make this the best vacation house you have ever stayed in!

Thank you to the owners for helping us plan for our sons graduation and sharing their beautiful home with us. Perfect location, perfect weather, home immaculate with great view, lots of windows, huge bedrooms, fun hot tub, and everything we needed stocked, made packing a breeze! It was nice to avoid the busy streets and hotels in Harrisonburg. Enjoyed waking up to the sound of the babbling brook out back, sipping our coffee on the deck, and was a quick drive to great restaurants, and very close to JMU!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

We arrived at night, but were pleasantly surprised with the look and feel of the place - they even took the time to label the light switches. In the morning the Zen journey continued with some wonderful sitting areas. We also were able to cook, grill and get into the outdoor hot tub. Good time for all.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

Our family (2 adults and 3 children) had a wonderful stay at "The Nut." The house was perfect! The large, well stocked kitchen, wonderful bright seating areas, and private Jacuzzi were wonderful. We loved the convenience of bringing our luggage and groceries straight from the car into the house without walking up stairs! The ski mountain and the water park are only minutes away (so close that we came back to the house for lunch and a rest midday). The owners were also very nice and treated us like old friends! We can't wait to return!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

This was our first time taking our 3 boys to Massanutten. "The Nut House" made our weekend even better. The ammenities provided by the owners of this fabulous property were awesome. The hot tub gave my husband and I a much needed break once we got the kids to bed. My 10 year old let me know repeatedly how much fun he was having and even said it was better than Disney World! When considering a rental property for your Massanutten stay, you should definitely check into the "Nut House". The owners of this property are great people to deal with.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children.

Our family loved our stay at The Nut! The Nut is a very spacious home that is great for relaxing after a fun-filled day at Massanutten. The home has a very open floor plan with lots of windows for a great view of the surrounding woods. The hot tub provided a great escape before/after dinner, which can be prepared in the fully-equipped kitchen! Not having to pack all of the paper goods and linens was an added bonus given that all of those items are graciously provided by the owners. We will stay at The Nut again in a heartbeat!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

we had our children and grandchildren w/ us for a weekend away at this lovely home in a perfect location. had never been to massanutten. it's got lots of activities for all ages and interests. the house was just right for our group of 5 adults and 2 little ones. the hot tub was a welcome and relaxing addition. the games and toys were great, too. the deck was a perfect setting, looking out over the woods. i particularly liked the kitchen, which was well stocked and supplied. i only had to bring the food!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

My parents, my sister and her husband, my nephew and I all met in Massanutten for a weekend get together. My favorite thing about the house is that there are windows everywhere looking out to the surrounding trees. The back deck is a great place for morning coffee or an evening glass of wine. The bed downstairs is really large and the room upstairs with the twin beds is great. However, if you are a couple and plan on sleeping in the double upstairs it is a rather small bed for two people. There were plenty of games available and everything you need for cooking. I would absolutely return.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

Wow! What a great time we had here on spring break! Mass resort has so many things to do but what we enjoyed most was just hanging out and reconnecting as a family. This house made us feel right at home. Equipped With so many relaxing things to do, the kids just wanted to stay here and have the parents all to themselves. We did, however, enjoy the waterpark! We will def return knowing that we have yet to conquer this resort and that we have the perfect spot to stay! Thank you!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children.
