Stylish and hip, this new chalet is nestled in “The Kettle” of Massanutten Resort, surrounded by mountains offering privacy and serenity. Treat yourself to an escape from urban crowds and pressures, and come unwind in Virginia's Beautiful Shenandoah Valley.
Our cozy home features a main level great room with floor to ceiling windows, gourmet kitchen, spacious dining area, TV nook, and deck overlooking woods with babbling creek. The three bedrooms (linens and bath towels incl) offer the following configuration: main-level, king-bedded master and two upstairs bedrooms (1D and 2T).
A huge outdoor hot tub completes your visit. With views of the slopes, it's a perfect way to end a day of skiing and tubing!! Comfortably seats 7 adults.
Our home is very warm and inviting, with comfortable furnishings offering a classic retro mid-century modern decor. We have had a great time traveling to estate sales for authentic and whimsical pieces that continue to delight our guests. But we have not forgotten modern conveniences...free internet, cable flat screen TV, dishwasher, washer/dryer, air conditioning, DVD player, CD player, etc.
The kitchen boasts anything a chef could need. And we make it easy: house includes all the “under the kitchen sink” necessities*. Just pack your clothes and food, bring a book, and you are all set. Don't forget your bathing suit for the hot tub!
Ideally located in the resort, at the top of the mountain, less than 5 minutes from on-site resort amenities: skiing, yar-round tubing, ice skating (new!) spa, indoor waterpark (biggest on the East Coast!), terrific hiking, golf courses, horseback riding, skateboard park, fishing, mini golf, go cart track, playgrounds, Tuesday night concerts, summer festivals, etc.
We have almost 60!! positive comments - come enjoy our little slice of paradise at THE NUT!!
*Do you like easy packing? We choose to keep stocked for our guests: dish soap, scrubbies/sponges, brillo pads, dishwasher detergent, dish towels, paper towels, napkins, trash bags, cleaning spray, coffee filters, tin foil, saran wrap, big ziplocs, little ziplocs, spices, cooking spray, flour, sugar, sweeteners, salt/pepper, toilet paper, disinfectant wipes, laundry detergent, flashlights, and bug spray. This is in addition to linens, pillows, bath towels, and extra blankets.

Full rent and $300 refundable security deposit due within 5 days of reservation.

We stayed at the NUT for a quick family getaway it was absolutely fabulous! This is our second visit to the NUT because we honestly loved the place so much. Not only was the home gorgeous, but the owner Jo was very great to work with and flexible to our needs from arrival to departure. I highly recommend staying at the NUT, you will not be disappointed. The home is picture perfect and immaculate.

We had a great time at your place the week between Christmas and New Years. The house was wonderful. We loved the hot tub and we truly enjoyed ourselves. We really appreciate you going out of your way to return my son's wallet as well. He left money in there and was heartbroken when he realized he'd lost somewhere in the house- he was so appreciative that you were able to find in the cushions and mail it back!!

We stayed for a brief getaway over the holidays and were so happy with The Nut. The decor was so cleverly put together. There were a lot of windows so the winter sunshine streamed in and lifted my winter "blah" mood instantly. We went to Hank's Restaurant for dinner on the first night then got an early night's sleep for a full day at the waterpark, which was a blast! We had dinner "in" the second night and then played Monopoly with the whole family. Oh, and a brief dip in the hot tub was awesome, especially when we heard the stream rippling in the background. What an awesome place. The only thing I would change is the length of time - I will definitely stay longer next time. Thank you Jo, we truly loved your great home. (My teens loved the lava lamp too by the way).

Loved every minute of our weekend at the Nut! We were bummed that the ski resort wasn't open yet when we got there. But the house had loads of things to do. Hours of playing countless games and the hot tub got plenty of use that weekend! There were also plenty of trails to hike and detailed information was ready and available thanks to the Nuts owners as they have written a complete guide of the area making our family well acquainted. Thanks again for let's us stay at the Nut it was perfect for me and my family for a little preChristmas bonding weekend! :))

This is a wonderful place to go. Everything is exactly as listed and the property is just beautiful. Always have the best time when we come here and always hate leaving. The property owners a so easy to work with and always ready to accomodate if possible. Two very enthusiastic thumbs up!

Thanks Jo. I'll make sure to look for it in my monthly credit card statement. We had a great time! We went to Luray Caverns and celebrated their 133th year with a fireworks display. We also went tubing the day after 2 inches of rain fell on the valley - the current was so fast and I almost missed the 'get-off' point (the driver had to throw in a line for me to catch, otherwise, I would have been swept away and they would need to pick me up 7 miles downstream!) What a place!!!!!....better than the description....pictures did not do justice to the real thing.....clean....well kept... a real trip down memory lane for us seniors....lots of info from JO.... AND...AH THE HOT TUB!!!! We hope to return at a future date.
