My wife, kids (9 & 7 year old) & sister in law truly enjoyed our time at the Nut & the Massanutten area. Our 1st time there but we will definitely be back. Jo was great to work with & her instructions were very thorough and helpful. The kids enjoyed the creek in the back & the hot tub!

Wow! What a great time we had here on spring break! Mass resort has so many things to do but what we enjoyed most was just hanging out and reconnecting as a family. This house made us feel right at home. Equipped With so many relaxing things to do, the kids just wanted to stay here and have the parents all to themselves. We did, however, enjoy the waterpark! We will def return knowing that we have yet to conquer this resort and that we have the perfect spot to stay! Thank you!

We just returned from 5 lovely days at the Nut. We enjoyed skiing, tubing, hiking and sliding at the waterpark. It was the perfect winter retreat for our family which includes two small children. The house is as charming as the owner Jo. Very responsive and informative. Absolutely no complaints.

The Nut was everything the profile promised! I especially enjoyed the feeling of being secluded even though we had neighbors. The kitchen was totally stocked for all our cooking needs -- we brought a crock-pot and waffle iron, but didn't need to! Even though we had a full house, everyone found a place to relax. There were so many cozy areas in the house to read, play games or watch movies.

Not only was the home gorgeous, but the owner Jo was very great to work with and flexible to our needs from arrival to departure. I highly recommend staying at the NUT, you will not be disappointed. We stayed for a brief getaway over the holidays and were so happy with The Nut. The decor was so cleverly put together. There were a lot of windows so the winter sunshine streamed in and lifted my winter "blah" mood instantly. We went to Hank's Restaurant for dinner on the first night then got an early night's sleep for a full day at the waterpark, which was a blast! We had dinner "in" the second night and then played Monopoly with the whole family. Oh, and a brief dip in the hot tub was awesome, especially when we heard the stream rippling in the background. What an awesome place. The only thing I would change is the length of time - I will definitely stay longer next time. Thank you Jo, we truly loved your great home. (My teens loved the lava lamp too by the way).

We had a great time at your place the week between Christmas and New Years. The house was wonderful. We loved the hot tub and we truly enjoyed ourselves. We really appreciate you going out of your way to return my son's wallet as well. He left money in there and was heartbroken when he realized he'd lost somewhere in the house- he was so appreciative that you were able to find in the cushions and mail it back!!

Loved every minute of our weekend at the Nut! We were bummed that the ski resort wasn't open yet when we got there. But the house had loads of things to do. Hours of playing countless games and the hot tub got plenty of use that weekend! There were also plenty of trails to hike and detailed information was ready and available thanks to the Nuts owners as they have written a complete guide of the area making our family well acquainted. Thanks again for let's us stay at the Nut it was perfect for me and my family for a little preChristmas bonding weekend! :))

Thanks Jo. I'll make sure to look for it in my monthly credit card statement. We had a great time! We went to Luray Caverns and celebrated their 133th year with a fireworks display. We also went tubing the day after 2 inches of rain fell on the valley - the current was so fast and I almost missed the 'get-off' point (the driver had to throw in a line for me to catch, otherwise, I would have been swept away and they would need to pick me up 7 miles downstream!) Thanks again. > >Best regards, Anna Maria >

What a wonderful home. Decorated beautifully in 1950's-'60's style, equiped with everything you'd want, with small touches everywhere - its a little piece of heaven. Our family couldn't of had a better time or a more comfortable setting. A highlight was the chat I had with my 4 year old granddaughter - out on the deck one evening. She said she wished I lived at The Nut. When I told her that her home was nice too, she said: "my house is beautiful, but this is beautifuller!". Nuf said!!!

We have stayed here twice now and have been extremely happy both times. The owner is very organized and professional and provided us with a lot of good information on restaurants and attractions. In addition, the house is very well-appointed with staples like dish soap, coffee filters, ziplock bags, and plenty of games and puzzles. It's really nice not to have to worry about those things when renting a house. As for the house itself, the two upstairs bedrooms were great for the kids, everything was clean and well-kept, and the hot tub and the deck we both great places for rest and relaxation after a long day of outdoor fun. We will definitely be back.

This house will not disappoint anyone who is looking to vacation in Massanutten Resort. It's close to everything, to include any four season activities. The house was clean, all appliances were in good working order, and there was plenty of room for parking (both in the driveway and across the street). I have had the opportunity to work with both personal property owners and realtors. I can tell you that the best to work with are the personal property owners who maintain good communication with the renter, and don't try to stretch the truth. Jo is great to work with, and is always punctual on returning questions/concerns. Whether you are planning a family vacation, or your just getting away with friends, "The Nut" will not disappoint.

This home was perfect for a relaxing fall getaway! The owner was very prompt in replying to my initial request and to all questions that I had. This is a very beautiful, clean and well-kept home. It looks even better than the pictures. Having linens and towels provided, as well as cleaning supplies and paper products was very convenient and saved on space when packing. It was nice to have information about nearby restaurants as well as activities. Our 3 young children especially enjoyed the Massanutten waterpark! Of course, the hot tub was a highlight of the trip. We ate at Hank's twice, once for takeout and once at the restaurant. The food was very good there. I would definitely recommend this home, so much nicer than staying at a hotel. My only complaint is that we should have stayed for more than 2 nights!

This was a wonderful experience from beginning to end. The house was just as described and we didn't want to leave. Jo was so nice to talk with. The only problem with saying how truly nice this place is , is I'm afraid when this secret is out I won't be able to book it. As an aspiring artist this was grand. Wildlife in the way of deer, squirrels and birds everywhere. The hot tub was such a wonderful way to relax and we just happened to be blessed with a full moon. We hated to leave and hope to come back.

We loved the home. It is a great home for families - even had some toys in the kids' closet - and two couples that like to travel together. We loved watching the deer explore the woods just off the deck. It is accessible to all the activities that Mntn has to offer. You can tell that the owner has experience in planning vacations and events. She is so detail-oriented and goes the second mile to ensure that each renter has a great experience. Looking forward to coming back and seeing the leave turn colors.

My family stayed at The Nut over the Memorial Day weekend! We took advantage of some of the areas activities such as the Route 11 Chip Factory, Luray Zoo and Massanutten Water Park. We ate at Hanks Smokehouse and had a fantastic Meal. The Nut was a perfect retreat! We especially liked the HOT TUB! Jo really helped make traveling easier with providing some of the basic everyday necessities which made it so much easier!

The NUT was very comfortable. Nice touches throughout. The hot tub was definitely one of the highlights. It was a cold week and it was comforting to dip in. The rooms were spacious, beds and sofas homely. The living/sitting with floor to ceiling windows allowed for a warm and sunny day when the sun finally made it through. Of course the resort is quite nice and has loads of things to do with kids -- snow rides, put-put golf, go karts, and the indoor water park were quite the hits. The amenities are a-la-carte. Of course with all the hiking available, there is plenty of opportunity to get fresh air, work up some sweat even in the cold and definitely lose some calories. Dining out is available within the resort. We thought the food at the water park is better than anything else we tried within the resort. The kitchen is fully equipped so no excuse for not cooking in. It was fun and enjoyable and worth another trip in a couple of years.

Oh my! what a beautiful home. We thoroughly enjoyed everything about it. We stayed for the weekend of JMU graduation and the week following. It was not too far to travel back and forth from downtown. The highlight of the stay was coming home one night to be greeted by three deer on the front porch, munching away on the bushes. The hot tub was DIVINE! Have made reservations to go back for a couple of days next month...LOVED IT!!

Comment Text: We had a lovely time in your home. It provided a much needed break for my husband and I during Easter break. My daughter's in-laws joined us and it was our first trip together. It was also special in that we are going to be first-time grandparents in October. In addition, I went horseback riding for the first time as well as a golf lesson. So a very nice short but good getaway! Your home was very comfortable, quiet and we appreciated on the special notes and instructions on various things from how to operate something to the best place to eat. However, I have to say we preferred relaxing at your home and using the hot tub. The hot tub was fantastic!

We had a wonderful visit in your lovely home! It was perfect for our two families - close to the ski lodge, snow tubing, and waterpark (all of which we enjoyed!). We went hiking in the woods behind the house down to the ski lodge, where there's a magnificent view of the ski slopes - it was really pretty. The kids loved rolling down the "hills" on the green, and when it snowed one day we found a great hill to sled down. Jo was very flexible and helpful with us - we all appreciated it greatly. We hope to come back someday for another relaxing visit!
