An astounding renovation by a talented interior designer has created a wonderfully light, romantic and spacious one bedroom luxury apartment in the very centre of Paris.

The apartment is located on the 4th (5th US) floor of a genuine 1860 Hausmann building in a quiet and leafy avenue in central Paris at Chatelet, a few paces from the historic banks of the river Seine, and a short stroll to Notre Dame and the Louvre, or perhaps a walk to the Marais or over the river to the exciting Latin Quarter.

Transport is right outside with the main Metro and rapid transit system, RER underground stations a block away.

Access to the apartment is by electronic key, with a main double street door and a second door which is also accessed by electronic key. The freshly renovated and large hallway gives access to the elevator. There is a short set of steps leading from the elevator to the apartment.

Originally a typical Beaux Arts style apartment, the décor has been enhanced and re-interpreted by the owners to characterize the earlier, luminous and supremely elegant style of the Swedish Gustavian period, but with a modern twist. The rococo theme is given a new dynamic by the use of contemporary furnishings and complementary style icons by such famous designers as Philippe Starck.

The large and impressive living room has high ceilings and two tall double glazed windows giving attractive wide views of the sky and street below. The original marble fireplace and over mantle mirror give the classic feel while the modern queen size sofa bed is top of the range for comfort and style.

The bedroom is romantic and light, also with two tall windows. It has its own original polished marble fireplace and a very generous amount of built in wardrobe space. There is a separate flat screen television. Drapes on all windows in the bedroom and the living room are 'black-out' style. The bed is queen size with a deep but firm mattress. All bed linens and towels are of the best quality.

The Dining room also with large windows is contiguous with the kitchen but can be completely separated by an ingenious system of 'pocket doors' which slide away completely when not needed. It has a classic Gustavian style table which will seat four.

The apartment is equipped with modern domestic and media appliances. In the Swedish style kitchen there is a catalytic oven, vitroceramic hob with four hot plates, microwave, dishwasher, fridge freezer and a really effective extractor hood. All cooking utensils and other small appliances are top quality and all cutlery and crockery as well as glassware is supplied.

The large bathroom has a full size shower, basin, designer toilet and bidet and electric towel rail. A hairdryer is supplied and there is a mirrored cabinet with power outlet. There is a bathroom radio.

There is a built in cupboard with a top of the line washer and separate dryer. Instructions for all appliances are in English.

The apartment is of a high technical standard and all rooms have wireless telephones, while the bathroom has a wall phone There is also a fax and answering machine. There are two Ethernet DSL internet connection outlets.

Two LCD televisions plus cable decoders with 150 channels including CNN and BBC, a DVD player, iPod player, and two separate CD and radio sound systems complete the entertainment line up.

In the hall closet, as well as space for baggage storage, there is a cyclonic HEPA vacuum cleaner, steam iron and ironing board plus a personal safe. The apartment has smoke alarms and a fire extinguisher.

The apartment does not have air conditioning which could not be installed for architectural heritage reasons but it does have fans. However, facing North, the apartment is light but not hot and benefits from a beautiful reflected luminosity from the warm sandstone of the buildings opposite.

We spent a week here celebrating our wedding anniversary. The apartment was super. As advertised and an outstanding location and value. The district is great and the proximity to most interesting landmarks as well as being on the main metro lines through Chatelet was a huge advantage. We received an excellent welcome and were made to feel quite comfortable immediately. The reservation process, my first experience with VRBO model, was excellent as well. I would strongly recommend this property to any of my friends or colleagues going to Paris.

I was a skeptic about renting an apartment but decided to try it. After searching for an apartment for a number of days with my wife, we finally chose Victoria. It looked nice and clean and in a location we thought we wanted. We contacted the management company and they were very nice and helpful in explaining the rental procedure and providing information about the apartment and area. I must say, being the skeptic that I am, I was a little nervous about paying in advance and not seeing the apartment in person. They did their best to make me feel secure. Well I must say, I was pleasantly surprised. The apartment looked just like the pictures and was very clean. It was equipped with everything you would need for a short or long stay. The kitchen had all the amenities of home. There was ample closet space in the bedroom and the bed linens were comfortable. The management staff met us at the apartment on time and was also available to answer any questions we had while we were there. As my wife said “they seemed to think of everything we might need” even leaving us a booklet with info and tips on getting around in Paris and a CD player with CD’s in both French and English. Location was great !!! Our travel friends had also rented an apartment and they were not as lucky. They spent most of the week coming to us because they loved our apartment and location.

We spent a lovely week in Paris and our home base was the Victoria Apt . We highly recommend this apt. It's location is one block off the Seine River and one block off a major shopping area. The apt itself is lovely with large rooms, well appointed furniture and completed outfitted kitchen. It is spotlessly clean and well maintained. We were met by a lovely lady who showed us throughout the apt and answered all our questions. They have left a great manual with lots of information on transportation, restaurants, bus and metro etc.

This is an exceptional apartment -- airy, sunny, beautifully maintained, nicely appointed, and with ample space for three or four people, counting the fold-out sofa in the living room (we were a couple with my 15-year-old niece in tow). The bathroom is large and modern with strong water pressure and lots of shelves; the kitchen is large and fully decked out with working appliances of every kind, lots of counter space, and a comfortable and roomy area for dining; and the bedroom, though compact, has a good bed and lots of closet space and shelves, replete with dozens of hangers. There are guidebooks and maps, and a well-written and comprehensive instruction book -- in fact, everything we needed for our stay. The icing on the cake is its location -- perfectly situated within walking distance to the Louvre, Pompidou Center, Notre Dame/Isle de Cite, the Marais, and the St Michele area of the Left Bank. As it happens, there's also a multi-line metro station a 1/2 block away for folks who prefer transit, just beyond the exceptional boulangerie where we bought our morning bread, pastries and yogurt, and later grabbed our sandwiches for each day's outing. And finally, the price: I looked at a lot of apartments online that could sleep three comfortably and were well-located. This one was far and away the least expensive. I figured there was a catch, which we would discover on arrival, but there's no catch. It's a wonderful place to stay in Paris and preparatory communications with the manager and greeters were always easy, complete, and helpful.

My sister and I made our first visit to Paris and stayed at this fabulous apartment. We could not have made a better choice for the money. It has ample room for 2 people in a perfect location. We were a short block to the Seine near Pont Neuf. This was a very walkable area but also close to the Metro. The apartment was immaculate, the bathroom was huge and the bedroom was quite comfortable. There was plenty of storage so we could put away our suitcases, hang our clothing and live like a Parisian.

As 2011 comes to a close I need to revisit one of my favourite weeks of the year and put a review here of the time spent in the most marvelous accommodation I have found in Paris. Not, to be clear, that I have stayed in Paris often, just a few times... but this was by far the best situated and the most comfortably kitted out. To begin at the beginning: The process of booking and paying for this was made very easy by the fast and polite communications by email I had with Natalie. The only issues I had to overcome were with my bank at this end (in the US) having trouble finding the bank at that end (London)... but, in fact, all went through without a hitch. On arrival in Paris we were greeted promptly by one of the staff (I forget his name but a very nice fellow) and provided with a quick tour. What a beautiful apartment - it certainly matches the description and photos on this site. Incidentally, 'we' were 2 couples with a one year old, and a crib was happily provided for us. The other couple used the 'put-u-up' bed in the living room and we had the main bedroom - maybe a little cramped by US standards but for a Paris apartment really not bad. At the weekend the other 'family' left and we had the place to ourselves...luxury! The apartment could hardly have been positioned better. We loved being able to stroll along the Seine, visit Notre Dame not to mention many local museums and galleries (even the Pompidou and the Louvre) without having to head into the Metro (though that was no hardship and we went as far as Versailles on one of the days). We both cooked in (plenty of food stores for supplies) and dined out locally (as well as wandering further afield). So many choices! All in all, as my kids would say - "an awesome week" - and one we would wish to repeat at some time in the future without hesitation. Highly recommended!

Thank you to Natalie and Sally for helping make our stay at this charming apartment so wonderful. The location was excellent--close to Notre Dame, the Seine, shopping and excellent restaurants and cafes. Our entire trip was so much better than we ever could have hoped (thank you too for arranging the fabulous weather!) and this adorable apartment far exceeded our expectations. There was a bit of street noise below but nothing a good set of ear plugs couldn't fix. Everything came together so seamlessly and made my first trip to Paris so full of lovely memories. We would most definitely recommend this and hope to return someday. Thank you again!!

We stayed here the week of Thanksgiving and had a wonderful time. The location is unbeatable—one block from the Seine; half a block to the Chatelet Metro station; close to everything you want to see in the heart of Paris. The apartment was perfect. Well appointed and extremely comfortable. We couldn't have made a better choice! The staff was very courteous and hospitable.

The apartment was everything we expected and more. The location was perfect for sightseeing and for having lovely dinners out. The listing was accurate and all our questions were answered promptly. We wish to thank Natalie for all her help and for meeting us at the apartment to explain the operation of all the appliances. We were very pleased that WiFi was available. We would definitely recommend this apartment to friends and family.
