Great attention to detail was given to this separate cottage that was designed to match our Plantation-style home. The main house and this cottage share a beautiful tropical oasis that sits behind two houses offering peace and tranquility. Nestled off the road one block from Kailua Beach, it offers the charm of old Hawaii amid quiet tropical surroundings. This newly finished studio cottage boasts all of the upscale details and furnishings you would want for a lovely vacation getaway.
'Savannah's Cabana' offers a modern kitchenette with new appliances, granite counter tops, and a granite dining table. The bath's stone and glass shower will refresh you after a day at the beach. A comfortable KING-sized bed with the finest high quality 'Tommy Bahama' linens assures you a peaceful and restful night’s sleep. The cottage is luxuriously appointed with 'vintage hawaiian' fabrics, custom built in furniture and hand selected art work. The grounds are beautifully landscaped abundant in tropical palms , orchids ,and rock garden sculptures. Off street parking is right next to your cottage.
Kailua is a lovely beach town that is tucked away on the Windward side of the Koolau mountain range. It offers a nice getaway from the fast pace of Honolulu and Waikiki but is a quick 25-minute drive if you should choose to head into town. Kailua also has a wide variety and great selection of restaurants and boutique shopping.
The beaches of Kailua and Lanikai are rated amongst the most beautiful beaches in the world. Our bay is protected by a reef and provides a gentle place to play, offering an abundance of activities such as windsurfing/kitesurfing, surfing, kayaking, body boarding, snorkeling and swimming. This is truly one of Hawaii's greatest pieces of paradise because of the tranquil aqua blue water and the green backdrop of the Koolau Mountains. This is one little special place in Hawaii you won't want to miss.

We enjoyed our stay at Savannah's for two whole weeks. The owners were very helpful and generous with time and suggestions for spots to see and places to eat. From their studio we were able to access the whole island. We went to Haleiwa, the surfing beaches in the north, Pearl Harbor and their beautiful beach only a block away. We rode bikes to another beach a short distance down the road. I would recommend this wonderful hideaway to anyone who does not want the high rise hotel on the west coast, but a peaceful, small town feel that even has a Whole Foods nearby. Though the kitchen is tiny, it was perfect for breakfast, making lunch or takeout dinners. There is a grill and picnic table in their lovely backyard for a more ambitious chef than we. Their suggestion to go to Pearl Harbor very early was spot on and so worth the short and beautiful drive. Their wonderful dog was an added bonus who loved to greet us every morning. Whether swimming, surfing, golfing or exploring are your hobbies, this is the spot to stay.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

We stopped over for 5 days in Oahu after a backcountry ski trip in Japan looking for rest and relaxation. We knew we didn't want to be in the overcrowded, touristy Waikiki/Honolulu area, nor did we want some contrived resort -- this is just what we were looking for. The photos are very good but don't do it justice. It is clean and well maintained, the bed and linens are excellent, great shower with wonderful water pressure and the small kitchen is adequate. It is just a two minute walk to the very beautiful 3 mile beach and Kailua town has some very good eating options. Our favorite was Kalapawi Cafe, in fact we ate here three times. Dave and Terri are very helpful and are excellent hosts. Terri even offered us the use of her washing machine to wash all of our dirty "ski" clothes! It is conveniently located to all locations in Oahu, whether you want to go shopping in Honolulu or go hiking on the North Shore. I would highly recommend this if you find yourself in Oahu.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, sightseeing.

Our visit to Savannah's cabin was exceptional. The cabin was just like it looks in the picture. Inside was warm and welcoming. Terri and David are excellent hosts. They are available to answer any questions and give great directions to anywhere you desire to go on the island. If you like to walk on a wonderful beach, this is the place to hide out and walk to your hearts content. The beach is easily accessible from the cabin. We used the barbeque for most of our meals and we sat outside using the lantern when it was dark. The only negative was the the wifi was not always working, however it was not an issue for us.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+, sightseeing.
Owner response: We so enjoyed have Patty and Fred stay in the cottage. We have fixed the internet problem and it is up and running great now. Sorry for that inconvenience. We hope to have you return one day soon. Aloha Terri and Dave

We stayed for 2 delightful weeks at Savannah's Cabana. We lived in this quiet, peaceful Hawaiian cottage and felt like locals. It was in a great location with everything we needed, was beautifully designed and just a short walk to the beach. We road the bikes into town for breakfast every day, used the boogie boards and washer/dryer, and the internet connection was good. But really, the best part was the family we rented it from. We just wanted to just escape the pressure of work and disappear into the Hawaiian landscape. The owners, Terri and Dave, are happy to let you do just that... quietly relax. However, they are very cool people with a great sense of humor, and we found them to be one of the highlights of our trip. They were helpful in making recommendations and were very gracious hosts. We'll definitely come back to Oahu, and when we do we'll stay at Savannah's Cabana.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+, adventure seekers, sightseeing.
Owner response: We so enjoyed having Marie and Tom stay with us for two weeks. We watched them explore, discover and revel in what Kailua and Oahu have to offer. They blended in with the energy of the island and our family. We hope to share much Aloha to all our guests and we hope they return often. Thank you for such a wonderful review. Please return soon. Much Aloha Dave and Terri

Savannah's Cabana and Kailua are the epitome of relaxation. If you want to de-stress, unwind and take life at a slower pace - this is the place for you. Terri and Dave were wonderful hosts and the accommodations put us in "island-mode" immediately. The 5 minute walk to Kailua beach is easy and the beach itself has to be one of the most beautiful and uncrowded beaches in Hawaii (shh). Our week here was ideal and we can't wait to return. Be sure to have a "BFRD" at Buzz's. Aloha and Maholo!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, age 55+, adventure seekers.

The location was easy to find, in a quiet neighborhood, walking distance to the beautiful Kailua Beach. The "cabana" was immaculate and spacious! The owner was on site and very helpful, if needed. I recommend this location to anyone who doesn't want to be in the city, and wants more of a peaceful Hawaiian vacation. Close to great shops and fabulous restaurants. Try Cinnamon's Restaurant for breakfast and Buzz's Original Steakhouse for lunch or dinner, just minutes away.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/3

My husband and I have found the perfect spot on the Windward Side of the Island in the quaint town of Kailua at Savannah's Cabana! The accommodations, along with amenities, provide for a fun, relaxing vacation spot. The beach is in walking distance of our location, and our hosts, David and Terri, have all of the recreation gear for beach and biking, etc. We love the privacy and beautiful surroundings. We can't wait to return!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, age 55+, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

My husband and I searched online for weeks for the perfect beach cottage in Kailua and we truly found it in Savannah's Cabana! The website depicts it very accurately. The only surprise was that it was even better than we expected! We couldn't have been happier with the beautiful decor and super comfortable king bed. There is a super roomy rain shower in the bathroom, that was perfect after a long day of hiking and snorkeling. The bathroom was stocked with nice toiletries and a blow dryer as well as an abundance of large cozy towels. The kitchen has a small refrigerator that was perfect for breakfast/lunch items and keeping juice and wine or other beverages cold. The perfect little coffee maker with a large selection of premium coffees was just the best for this coffee lover! We enjoyed very much having coolers to use and bikes to ride into town for breakfast or the great farmer's market on Thursdays. The beach is only a short 2-3 minute walk out the door. The garden and courtyard surrounding the cottage is quiet, lush and the perfect place to relax after of long day of island activities. Terry and Dave couldn't have been more helpful and gave us wonderful recommendations whenever we needed anything, as well as providing us with as much ice as we needed for the coolers. The best thing could have been Koola, their black lab, who is just a perfect gentleman and greeted us each morning and whenever we arrived home. If you're looking for a great location, this is awesome. It's very quiet and private, yet within walking distance to downtown Kailua (which by the way....has a fabulous new Whole Foods). There are several nice restaurants close by but our favorites were Buzz's Steakhouse (Mahina the bartender makes the best Mai Tais) and Tokaname (Best Sushi Ever). We stayed for a week and enjoyed everything Oahu has to offer right from this perfect Kailua cottage. Even the popular North Shore is only a 45 minute drive from this location. Be sure to visit the Byodo Temple in close by Kaneohe and Hale Ewa Joe's (a restaurant close to the temple and built around a spectacular lush garden canyon overlooking the magnificent H3 tunnel approach). We can't wait to go back!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Savannah's Cabana! Beautiful beach, easy access, perfect for early morning walks when you're still on Eastern Standard Time. Terri and David were delightful, as well as helpful with directions, excursion tips, and restaurant recommendations. Cabana was very clean, convenient, and private. Would recommend to those wanting an experience that gets them away from hotels and highways... Mahalo Terri and David!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+.
