Sunny, cloudy, perfect. Reunion Gathering from Texas, Oregon, Ohio and Illinois. We saw Dolphins, Moody Gardens, Ferry, Star Drugstore for homemade ice-cream. Best Kitchen. Best Vacation Ever according to the Grand-kids.

Very beautiful location and house! However, upon arrival, we found the refrigerator and ice machine were not working-the refrigerator started getting cold around our third day,but only to about 56 degrees. Also, oven wasn't properly working,the door wouldn't close so we had smoke the first time we used it,,it was filthy on the inside. Most of the doors wouldn't lock, we awoke in the master suite on more than one occasion with one of our doors to the deck wide open,the ocean breeze pushing it open. The second living area, with big screen tv,dvd player and gaming system, was out of order, cabinets locked - as it was to be used for the children in the group,,this was a major frustration and disappointment. The elevator worked occasionally. We began calling the management upon our arrival day, Saturday, we did not receive a call back until Wednesday! We had nine adults, 6 of whom are professionals who could not access the internet to stay in touch with their offices! We called and left messages every day,several times a day. When we got a return call,they gave us the wrong access code again. The garage doors opened on their own,while we were all sitting upstairs, more than once. The VERY large deposit required was never returned, when I inquired, I was told it was not to be returned as the oven door was broken. As I mentioned, this was noted,on paper, as well as voice mails, beginning on day one. I have been renting homes around the country for over 20 years, and have never been disappointed, until this experience. Very disappointed.
Owner response:VRBO: Below at Morning Karen, is from the caretaker of three years who arrived with the guests to show them all the amenities with no problems. The same caretaker that inspects the property immediately after the guest leave. I can forward you pictures, possibly video and her worksheet all taken upon their departure. We carefully document all rental departures. Our goal is to have the house "perfet" every time someone arrives. She goes into detail the number of appliances available throughout the house. The house is not rented without full inspection and assurance of prompt personal attention by caretaker if any questions arrise. FYI...The house is built for Hurricane Standards is why the doors are up and down handle double locks. Cabinets that are locked contain the programmable equipment. The elevator doors must be closed interior acordian style and reg. door on each floor, in order for the elevator to move. This is a safety feature. The $2400 oven was not damaged upon their arrival and was replaced with a floor model due to the high damage costs versus the deposit. After this family we have initiated a mandatory insurance to work with the damage deposit. Morning Karen I think it’s very unfair a guest be allowed to post a complaint 9 months after their rent date. They left a mess, caused damages, lost their deposit and retaliate by posting at the start of peak season, just not fair. 6 TV’s 6 DVD players 1 Game machine 2 Refrigerators with ice makers 1 Mini fridge with ice maker 1 beverage cooler 1 Under cabinet ice machine Our home has been available for many wonderful guests, unfortunately this family did not appreciate it.

Sunny & Hot Everyday! Strong winds kept us cool on the Beach. We did a little sailing on the Sound side, Bike riding on the Seawall, Kite flying too. Enjoyed new Restaurant, Wonderful Views, House Incredible, So well kept. Gorgeous decor and details.

June 26-July 3, 2009 We had an awesome time at this beautiful Beach House. It was a comfortable fit for our 5 families which is hard to find for any Beach House let alone one with this higher end quality and amenities. The house is beautifully furnished throughout. We celebrated Mom & Dad's 50th Wedding Anniversay coupled with a Family Reunion. The elevator was a plus as we have family members that cannot climb stairs. The elevator also helped with luggage and food delivery and removal. The beach location to me is the best in Galveston and this house in Beach Town is isolated from the nearby public beaches of East Beach & Stewart Beach. It was almost like we had our own private beach. The City of Galveston brought in new sand after the storm and it was quite nice to look at. Sunrise and Sunsets everyday were spectacular. The ocean breeze kept us cool and the outdoor Jacuzzi and shower were also great. We had the best time ever and appreciate the owners renting such a lovely home. "ABSOLUTELY, I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS TO MY BEST FRIEND!"

We took the little ones to Schlitterbaun and Rainforest Cafe 12/29 - 1/3/2010. We played on the beach, found seashells, fished and caught a crab. We enjoyed being together in such a beautiful place. We will be back when the weather is warmer!

50th Wedding Anniversary! 6/26-7/3/2009 We color coordinated Family Pictures on the Beach. Watched Sunset and Sunrises. Tool Cool Walks Along the Beach. Awesome Family Time. Collecting Shells, Playing in the Waves and Having Fun. Watched Gliders and Boat Parachutes going back and forth too! Very Elegant House - Thank you so much for letting us enjoy it. We loved watching the Sunrise over the horizon during our 7/31 -8/14/2009 visit. We also enjoyed Moody Garden, Schlitterbaun, Dolphin Tours, Sonny's Place and night time crab hunting! We had a wonderful vacation and the house is just beautiful. We will be back again for another family vacation! Thank you!

The East Island Villa was absolutely beautiful!!!! We have a large extended family and it held all of us perfectly, with lots of nice spaces for everyone to spread out for a little peace and quiet. We knew we would be on the beach but we were so close, it was fabulous. The only complaint we would have is there were several days work crews were there bright and early in the morning to work on the roof, which was loud but understandable after the hurricane last year. We are already checking into booking this home for next summer and we haven't even been home a week yet!
Recommended for:Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, sightseeing.

Beautiful House; Elegant Furniture; Great Home for our Family Reunion and Mom/Dad's 50th Wedding Anniversary. Great Access to Beach -- Beach View was excellent and quiet compared to other Galveston Beach sites. Excellent sunrises and beach walks. Highly Recommend this place. Elevator was a plus for those with Disabilities/Difficulty walking stairs along with bringing in food to 2nd/3rd Floors. Enjoyed having the whole family under one roof. It made the event more enjoyable. One negative comment was that they did not clean the outside windows on 2nd and 3rd floors, so I did that myself to enjoy the beautiful scenery from the rooms.

My bridesmaids and I celebrated my upcoming wedding with a bachelorette party at East Island Villa. It was catered daily by an amazing chef, we enjoyed music and laughter. It was far nicer than any bachelorette party I've ever heard of or been to. The house is big, beautiful, comfortable and amazing. Galveston Island was alot of fun, cabs are plentiful and everyone is real nice!

The house is magnificent and we were very comfortable and relaxed for our Christmas retreat. The beach seemed to stretch on forever with palm trees everwhere. The hot tub and verandas offered beautiful views of the Gulf and the Bay. We enjoyed family, food and fun in a very luxurious and pampered environment. Thank you to the owners for offering this jewel of a rental.

I still cannot believe such luxurious accomodations are available so near to town on the most beautiful part of the beach. The neighborhood is outstanding, affording everyone privacy and friendly appeal. The house is magnificent but still very comfortable for relaxing and entertaining. We enjoyed golf, shopping, relaxing on the veranda and the hot tub!

Great House! No place like it and very much worth the $$$. We had alot of fun and really enjoyed entertaining a few guests, relaxing, sightseeing, etc... Great restaurants and shops nearby and what a treat to have the dune walk-over to the beach so close. For bird watchers there is no place better than Galveston!

We are very proud of East Island Villa, so a special Open House hosting 75-100 persons here this weekend. Time spent with friends and relatives to show how grateful we are for their support. A team building on Friday with 30+ employees started the celebration. Everyone enjoyed the umbrellas and beachchairs set up down by the water. Great Day Great Place Great Friends and Great Food!

Relaxed with family, surfed, kayaked, fished, played and best of all relaxed and spent time with the family. We saw dolphins while we kayaked. Amazing. Beach walking and quality time with a "Good Morning from our grandkids." We enjoyed the sunsets and everything in between. Thank you for your hospitality.
