Golondrina is one of eleven suites in condominium Villa Blanca. Designed by architect Diego Mendez De La Penas, Villa Blanca is one of the most architecturally creative buildings in Old Town Puerto Vallarta. Each unit in Villa Blanca is individually owned and is serviced by a friendly and helpful english speaking manager. Daily maid service and a night security guard are part of the exceptional services offered at Villa Blanca.
We have owned Golondrina since June 2007 and it is our home away from home. We fell in love with the charm of the building and the warm and inviting feeling of the unit. It is a small but cozy one bedroom suite, perfect for the couple wanting time together, or the single person ready to 'paint the town'. The open concept gives the unit a warm and spacious feeling, offering a full kitchen, dining area, extra large sofa, king sized bed, and an ensuite bathroom, complete with an oversized tiled shower. The kitchen, dining and living areas are one, with a three quarter wall dividing the bedroom area. When entering the unit you are met with a comfortable feeling of old mexican charm. The unit is bright and cheerful, offerng arched windows in the dining and bedroom areas, large windows in the living and kitchen areas all offering beautiful garden and ocean views. There is also a beautiful stained glass window in the bathroom. Steps from the front door is a pool with a relaxing waterfall, and a spacious deck with tables and lounge chairs. Up a set of stairs you will find the massive rooftop terrace, complete with a charcoal BBQ and entertainment area. The terrace offers a panoramic view of the Bay of Banderas from Los Arcos to downtown Puerto Vallarta. The sunsets from this vantage point are breathtaking. The whole building is draped with colorful plants and flowers year around.
Golondrina is perfectly located and is front and center to everyting the Zona Romantica, Old Town, Olas Altas areas have to offer. Cross a quiet cobblestone street and down a set of stairs and you are on the popular Los Muertos beach. The beach area offers chairs, umbrellas, drinks and food, served by friendly and attentive locals. Here you can enjoy snorkelling, diving, parasailing, jet skiing, swimming, fishing, and of course, the excellent beach food and drinks. A short walk south you will find some excellent smaller secluded beaches where you can enjoy the relaxing sounds of the waves hitting the shore, or enjoy snorkelling in the small water pools. Down the street from your front door you will find some exceptional restaurants, shopping, beauty spas, markets, art galleries; not to mention the night clubs. There is a car rental and tour operators nearby that can help you plan city, water, or jungle tours of the area. Golondrina has everything to make your stay in Puerto Vallarta, Old Town, a memorable one. It offers a fantastic location that is close to all the amenities, but maintains a quiet and peaceful atmosphere. The area has all the great amententies while still keeping the old mexican charm. It is a place you will want to visit again and again.

Golondrina a wonderful experience in the Romantic Zone!

We stayed at Golondrina from Jan 14-21, 2012 and loved it. Setting up the reservation with Lee was easy, as he was very responsive and answered any and all questions. The RZ/Amapas/Olas Altas area is our favorite part of PV and Golondrina had everything that we were looking for. The Villa Blanca complex is very nice and the condo itself is cozy and well-appointed. The proximity to the beach, the Malecon, and Olas Altas is tough to beat, and considering that you are getting what most hotels would consider a suite you can't beat the price! As mentioned elsewhere, with the pool terrace right outside your door, you end up with the feeling that you have your own personal terrace area. The kitchen was very nice, but with our love for PV dining we ended up really only using the coffee maker in Golondrina's kitchen. The Villa Blanca staff are exceedingly helpful and friendly - Jose Luis and Cheuy were both a pleasure to work with. There are no views of the beach from the condo itself - the best view is from the rooftop terrace as the beach view from the terrace outside the room is somewhat impeded by utility wires and some building construction. You can, however, hear the ocean quite clearly when in the condo with the windows open and we loved this! Our only minor complaints were that the water in the shower didn't get truly hot and the WiFi did not work well in the condo itself. I suspect that the WiFi issue is due to the construction of the building and we could get a usable connection on the terrace outside of our room. But those issues were indeed minor, and as my wife pointed out, the quality of internet connectivity shouldn't be the highest priority when on vacation! We would not hesitate to stay in Golondrina again or recommend it to a friend!

I stayed in this condo for the month of March 2010 and part of April. The owners are excellent to deal with and Jose Luis the manager is wonderful as is the night security Chewy. The room is very clean, the maids are great, the bed very comfortable and the kitchen is set up perfectly with almost everything you could need for cooking. Many of the neighbors and I BBQ'd on the roof top patio which has a gorgeous view of the sunsets every night and of coarse the fire works. Security is excellent, and everything you could ever need is within walking distance. This is a very clean, well laid out, comfortable condo that exudes all the Mexican charm but combines all the ammenities us spoiled Northerners rely on:)
