FloAnns buddy, Maggie, welcomes the visiting local wildlife to her home
Location: Estes Park, Front Range, Colorado, USA (I am located 5 miles east of Estes Park, Co.)
Accommodations: Cottage, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath (Sleeps 5-18)
Keywords: Cottages
I have four cottages. I live in one and vacation rent the other three. I have 24 acres from river frontage that extents into the national forest. Lots of room to roam, explore and fly fish. I am five miles east of Estes Park and have so many comments on how quiet it is, except for the river. It takes about two minutes to walk to the river and can be very nice to sit by just doing nothing.
My web site really shows it all. The cottages look just like the pictures, you will get no surprises. This is a wonderful are to visit any time of year. Thanksgiving and Christmas are great and beautiful.
Look my cottage up, and Thank you;
FloAnn

Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 2000
I have a life most people including my guest envoy. I have three vacation rentals open all year and as I get older I am so glad I don't have to worry about much of anything. I just keep the cottages clean and try to do what ever it takes to make my cottages enjoyable and comfortable for my guests.
Why the Owner Chose Estes Park
Since high school Estes Park has been my favorite place anyplace. I just love my life here and I love the location. Being next to Rocky Mountain National Park is a bonus. You could stay here which is a hub to visit many great places within 100 miles.
The Unique Benefits of this Cottage
Secluded comes to mind first. I have 24 acres with river frontage with great fly fishing. You can make your own trail up my mountain and you could actually see Estes Park if you climb high enough. There is rafting within 1 hour. The Park is endless with adventures. The town is a small unique place with shopping, horse back riding, ATV rides a short ride from town, and other stuff. Lots of places to eat also.

Not as good as expected

We spent 4 nights this August at one of the cabins. The location was good. Our kids loved the outdoor fire pit. However, there were rats in the cabin... and the blinds and fans were covered with dust. This was truely disappointing after reading the other good reviews. The owner didn't seem to be very nice to us either.
Owner response:I need to respond to the RATS. I have field mice and at this time of year I have to place traps because winter is approching and they want to get inside. I am on the side of a mountain and wild life is something I need to deal with, although nature is sometimes hard to keep up with. Dust is also hard to keep up with and I will admit to not keeping up with dust although when the season starts slowing done that is the time I can catch up on a lot more that just dust on the blinds. I would have been quick to set mice traps if the guest had mentioned the MICE problem. I have never seen a RAT here or anyplace in Colo. I am a small business and am trying to make it the best I can. I don't understand guest wanting to undermind small businesses rather that talking directly to the business owner. If I was rude I apologize with no excuses. Please support individuals trying to make the best of life as they can. Just talk to the boss and make a difference. Publishing bad news just compounds the issue of trying to make a living in these hard times, and really what do you want to achieve? To post this complaint took more work than it would have taken to come to my door and mentioned what you were unhappy about. Why do you want to control my future.

Shirley and Rui have been coming to FloAnn's Cottages for years. FloAnn's Cottages are quaint and comfy with amazing views from her mountain perch, and close in to Drake or Estes Park. Enjoy BBQ's at every cabin, breath taking views of the Big Thompson Canyon with the gurgle of the river below, horseshoe pit, TV/DVD, fully furnished kitchens, quaint and comfy furniture, comfortable beds, and mountain hiking on the property. Best of all is FloAnn herself, welcoming, fun, animal loving lady who makes you feel like you just met your long lost relative! Cottages are reasonably priced, available all year around. FloAnn's Cottages, a must Stay! Warmly, Rui and Shirley
Owner response:What a joy to get a super review. It's always great to see people happy and I am doing my best to make that happen.

My sister and I spent 5 days in Cabin #3 and could not have been more pleased. The cabins are well kept and well equipped. Having coffee in the morning and enjoying the beautiful Colorado scenery was extremely pleasant and relaxing. We loved hiking the mountains behind the cabins. Great place for family reunions.

Our stay in Drake, Colorado

we stayed at this cottage during early august 2010 for 3 nights. the cottage was clean, convenient and reasonably equipped. It is also conveniently located. but beware of the driveway to the cottages. it is horrible. caused a lot of damage to our car. the owner claims, it is because of the heavy rains. well, it is her responsibility to maintain her property. certainly we would advice that unless you have an suv or a truck, it is not worth it!
Owner response:As an owner I take pride in keeping my small business the best I can and hopefully my future guests appreciate my efforts. It's always nice to hear. I just spent $2,500 on my driveway that nearly disappeared into the Big Thompson. It is lovely now and hopefully it will be another 5 years before our next monsoon rain hits. When guests decide to come to the Rocky Mountains it is my suggestion to have a car that will be able to handle any situation and in all weather. Another thought is to talk to the owner and work out anything you can at the time. No owner want to have unhappy guests.
Recommended for:Adventure seekers, sightseeing.
