Grandparents, parents and grandkids had a wonderful time. The layout of Mountain Vista was perfect. Seating areas where we could all dine and visit together and enough areas where you could have some 'me' time as well. Big Canoe amenties were terrific - we made numerous trips down the rock slide and took lots of paddleboat excursions. Both pools were lots of fun for everyone. We did some geocaching in the area and visited the mines in Dahlonega. A wonderful week of 'summer camp.'

Thanks so much for your help with the arrangements for our recent weekend away at Big Canoe. As always, the house at Laurel Ridge is a warm and cozy place for some busy Mommies to get away for a few days of R&R and time to scrapbook. This year we also enjoyed some of the rental extras like the bar soap, hand soap, shampoo, kleenex and other items. These are small touches but, they all add up to a pleasant experience staying in this lovely home. The only down side of our trip is that 2 nights is simply not enough and we need to do this more than once a year! So, we are all looking at our busy schedules to see if we can squeeze another trip into our plans. Again, thanks for all of your help and your warm hospitality on the day of our arrival. It was certainly the perfect weekend to stay inside!

Thank you so much! We truly enjoyed your home. Having a separate floor for each family made it so nice for different children's bedtimes, etc. And you were right about the kitchen being fully stocked -- we prepared full meals every evening and had everything we needed. The high chair and baby gates were put to good use as well. The kids really enjoyed roasting marshmallows over the outside fireplace...well, actually ALL of us enjoyed that! Awesome mountain views

We plan a family vacation every year for our grandchildren, and children who live all over the country. Our desire is for the grandchildren to get to know each other, and spend a vacation together. We all agreed this home was the best home and location we have ever rented. The home is complete with all you need or want , and the vierws are just beautiful. We loved the fireplace, the screened in porch, the bedrooms, and especially the Family room and computer room. We hiked every day, went golfing, fishing, boating, swimming & grilling! It was a perfect weather week, loved the cool temps. Our son, a chef loved the equiptment in the stocked kitchen. All family agreed, we want to return next year! Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Just wanted to drop a note to say thank you so much for the wonderful wedding weekend we spent at both Mountain Vista and Treehouse Lodge homes. The houses worked out perfectly for our family members and friends! We had plenty of room for all...and it was so nice that they were located so close together. We, also, loved having the two master bedrooms in Treehouse Lodge. It was the perfect solution for my mother, as she has to use a walker and couldn't have managed the stairs at all. Both homes were absolutely lovely.... Thank you so much for working with us and allowing us the extended stay on Sunday. It really helped us out so much! Even though the weather was a bit less than perfect, our weekend still was! Thanks again for everything!

Lake Michelle Bridge Group

Played bridge, laughed, sat around the porch, fireplace and reminisced. We ate wonderful shared food and a Friday Night delicious meal at the Club House. Hiked around the lake and across the bridge. We fels so "at home" here. We have been coming annually to Big Canoe and stayed in 3 different homes but feel we have found our place. We hope to be back in February or March 2010. Your place is so wonderful! It's conducive to friends enjoying a great time together, and very accomodating for a large group of women.

We arrived from all locations for our Family Vacation. It was mid 50's when we arrived and snowing when we left. Enjoyed playing games, Gin Rummy, Apple-to-Apples, Yahtzee and more. Knit Wit Weekend

Knitting weekend for the Knit Wits. Caught up with friends, food, wine and unfinished projects. Temperature was a mild 50-60 degrees, so we sat on the porch and knitted most of the weekend. We had a great time eating, knitting, told inappropriate stories, shared supplement advice, ate grapefruit, talked about pets, ate some more, shared recipes, made future plans and never turned on the TV. We are truely grateful for the group of friends we all have become. Wow - what a beautiful and well accomodating place Mountain Vista is for any size group!

30th Wedding Anniversary Family Celebration We had a joyous time of family fun, games and special moments. This trip had two purposes, Thanksgiving and a milestone anniversary, which was enjoyed by laughing, eating and sleeping. I would recommend to anyone that comes to Big Canoe to visit the North Georgia Premium Outlet Mall which had more stores and discounts than we could have imaged!! The tribute to Papa & Grandma was one of the most special times. We must not ever take each other for granted. Thank you, Hines Family

This home is perfect for a weekend crop. The family room works great for lots of tables for cropping. We ate out on the screened in porch, so never had to disturb our scrapbooking area. Lots of individual beds and plenty of bathrooms for our big group. I'm a repeat renter. The house has everything you need to feel at home and the owner has been wonderful to work with.

Owner response:Mountain Vista works great for all kinds of mens and womens groups. Here, they used the kitchen area that opens up to a large screened porch - plenty of room. Additionally, the house sleeps up to 13 people and can sleep 10 in their own individual beds. Recent Upgrades include a New 42" LCD TV above the fireplace, a computer installed in the office/loft area, and an IPOD Stereo in the Den.

Friends Wedding Vacation

The house was so cozy. We had everything we needed: kitchen utensils, wine openers, glassware, towels, beds, seating areas, everything, you name it. Out of the three or four other cabins we visited, we had the nicest porch, super roomy. We loved it and we will be back again.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! We all had a wonderful time! The location of the two houses was perfect for the cousins to bounce back and forth and easy for everyone to get together. Your house is beautiful and accommodated us well. We enjoyed the new country club restaurant (as per your recommendation) for dinner to celebrate my parents' 50th- the food, service and private dining room was excellent. As my parents own the time share and visit every year, we hope to make this a regular traditional reunion. If you have any pull as to additional suggestions for facilities. If there is anyone out there planning a family reunion STOP you have found the place!!!!!! We rented mountain vista, eagles nest and treehouse lodge for our reunion and Kevin from mountain vista was the bomb. The homes are all beautiful, the staff at big canoe was outstanding, the property was breath taking,and I must also comment on Fireside restaurant as well. Take it from experience this is the only place for a vacation. Single family,2 families or the entire family. Kevin I must say thank you for everything!!!! Oh yea I do not want to forget the towels that we made for everyone to take as a memory. (Again Kevin mountain vista rental)If I can help answer anyone's questions I will. This is the only place to go and the price is great as well. Call before it is to late!! Book for next year you will have no regrets!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful home. It was the perfect set up for us, my sister and husband, plus 4 children in the bunk room. The porch was one of our favorite places to be, and especially loved having a fire at night out there. Being able to roast marshmallows in July was the best. Thank you for a great getaway that was so needed by all of the 12 Tennis moms in our group! It was really convenient to the Tennis Courts, fully stocked for all the meals and just a perfect weekend. Great Family Getaway, explored the GA mountains for the first time, since moving to the South. It was snowing en route just enough to make a snowball, but melted quickly. Saturday, we hiked in the snow, spent time together as a family, visited amicalola falls, and watched football. Best time was watching the snow fall outside through the big window in the den, and spending time with the family. We loved your house, so beautifully decorated and well equipped. This is the first time in several years all the Moore boys have been together at the same time. I enjoyed seeing all fo them together. The children's favorite moment was seeing a waterfall especially the one at Amicalola Falls. Living in South Florida, they don't have any around their home. The house is beautiful and even with 13 people around, we had plenty of room. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

We did so enjoy your home at Big Canoe, and we had everything we needed. It was a beautiful home and very well decorated. Our son and his wife loved the downstairs bedroom, and the grandchildren loved the bunk beds. We had a fire on Christmas, and it was raining, everyone loved it, and it seemed so much more like Christmas being up in the Mountains. Our guest from Brazil loved everything about the house, and also the Big Canoe area. Weather was in the 70's during the week and cooled to 40's. We hiked, ate, traveled to small towns like Dahlonega, and Amicalola falls in the surrounding area, talked with family, shopped, sat around the fireplace on the porch and roasted marshmallows. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving, your house is just perfect for a family getaway. I wish I had your talent for decorating. My mom said it was one of the nicest houses she's ever seen. We had 13 ladies at Mountain Vista for our annual Stamping Christmas Card weekend. It was the perfect house for all of us. The rooms wokred out great for sleeping arrangements and we even used the top bunk beds! The house was stocked perfectly for the kitchen and the bathrooms. We appreciated all of the extra bath towels. We will definately plan to book this house again next year for our card making weekend!

Absolutely Perfect! Cool evenings by the fire and sunny days - food, fun, fellowship and rekindle 35 years of memories as friends. There wasn't much time to do many things because we were always at the table eating! Some great naps were had, while Andy won the card game. Watched the Bulldogs beat Florida 42-30 - WOW. You've done a beautiful job with this place, so comfortable and beautifully decorated. A+ for the outdoor fireplace in the screened porch. Is it time to eat, yet?

The house was awesome in every way!! Perfect for 3 couples and still room for kids!! We enjoyed our stay immensely. Relaxed and enjoyed golf, boating, "adult beverages", and bridge. Special time with great friends! Great meals prepared on the grill, eaten while visiting on the porch. Mountain Vista was beautiful in every detail, perfect to entertain 8 guests and all want to return in the Fall to see the leaves change. Look forward to many more good times!

Elizabeth, Mike and Jeannie joined two other families to relax with friends that moved to Dawsonville, GA. Enjoyed the view, golf, movies, swimming/sliding rock, and just sat & relaxed by the fireplace on the screen porch. The older children didn't get to come, so I hope to come again with them. We are originally from NH, coming here made me realize how much I missed the mountains. It's a lot warmer here therefore better. Thanks for providing all the little extras that helped make this a perfect place! Large movie selection, candles, essentials that may have been forgotten and most of all the great linens. Mountain Vista at Big Canoe far exceeded our expectations for the perfect weekend retreat! The house located in Big Canoe's beautiful Laurel Ridge was only an hour from our home and was very near all of resort's amenities; ie. the general store, gas station, post office, health center, chapel, marina, golf course, pool, restaurants and lakes. Nine of our family members came to Mountain Vista to celebrate two special birthdays. We enjoyed wonderful food and fellowship, but also a nice round of golf and a fantastic electric boat trip on Lake Petit. The house is beautifully decorated and has every convenience of home to include a well appointed kitchen, gas grill, charcoal grill, office with wireless DSL, printer, cable TV, many games, golf clubs, kites, and much more. I guess the most popular place in the house for our family was the beautiful screen porch with fireplace overlooking the mountains, lake, and golf course. Our family would highly recommend Mountain Vista for the perfect get away!! My wife and I are going back with our golfing friends in two weeks, and we can hardly wait! It was well furnished and had all the cookware, utensils, spices, and appliances that we have at home, preventing us from having to go to the store for any of those things. Even an office desk and chair w/ wireless DSL, printer, phone and headset allowed my husband to dial in to work, which allowed us an extra day in peace and tranquility. We were real close to the pool, running trails, sliding rock, and fun amenities that the kids wanted to do. There was Fireworks over the lake on July 4th, and within walking distance, too. Even a small general store, post office, and gas pump are right around the corner for ice cream, or other missed/forgotten items.
