This upscale cabin was clean and well maintained. The photos supplied do a good job of representing it. One thing that is not clear, and you might want to know, is that even though the master bedroom is on the main level, there are a couple of steps from the living room to go up to the master bedroom and the bathroom. The bed is really comfortable—and this is coming from someone who has a tempurpedic at home! There is also a gas fireplace (stove) in the bedroom. French doors open onto a deck. The bathroom is gorgeous. We had no problems with hot water, there was plenty. The shower is big enough for two, and there is a place to sit down in the shower area. Towels, washcloths, floor mats are not included with the rental. All in all, the cabin and its surroundings are every bit as picturesque as the photos supplied show. The creek really IS that close! Also, it is within walking distance to the Susquehanna River. It may be due to the time of year that we stayed there, but, we did not notice a single car going down the road while we were there. I'm sure there had to have been, as we were there three days, but I never heard or saw one. The best description is secluded and quiet, but with all the comforts of home. Everything worked, the dishwasher, the oven, etc. One tip is to not turn off the gas fireplace in the kitchen. We did the first night (they have a little placard posted on wall, but we didn't notice it until morning) We got the hang of getting it to relight, but really would be better just to let it stay on. There is a thermostat. The fireplace in the living room is converted to gas, it is easy to turn on and off. Its is stone and if not "massive" its quite large. The photos just don't do it justice. If you arrive at night, like we did, and you're looking for more light, there are pull chains to the ceiling fan lights. Keep in mind that this is located in Wrightsville, PA not Lancaster. We had no intentions of sightseeing, we arrived for our stay with groceries, previously prepared food, wine, beer, the whole shebang. As we did not come with the intention of dining out, and seeing historic Lancaster, I really can't give an opinion on these activities. If the goal is to have peace and quiet, walk in the woods, have the dog be allowed to come too, and to stay in a comfortable clean, nicely decorated cabin that has wi-fi and cable TV—this property is ideal

This is just what I needed. The cabin was quiet and comfortable. Everything was well stocked. I couldn't have imagined a more peaceful beautiful place. We loved the trail across the road that led to a wide open field. It was a great place to hike and see the river. We will be back!
Owner response:We are so happy that you enjoyed your stay and you love the place as much as we do. It is a quiet and relaxing atmosphere along the Susquehanna River. We can't help but to share this cabin so everyone can enjoy the beauty of Lancaster County, PA. Thank you so much for taking care of our cabin and we look forward to renting to your family in the future.

We are a family of four who stayed several nights in this very nice cabin. We had a very relaxing stay and would definitely stay here again should we travel back to the area. We made trips to Gettysburg, Amish communities, and Hershey and were glad to come "home" as opposed to staying in a "hotel." As parents, the master suite was a bonus and the two pull-outs in the loft accomodated our teenagers very well. We enjoyed family time playing games around the fireplace and also enjoyed the walking trails and proximity to the river. No place is perfect, but this property was awesome and helped make perfect memories for our family.

We had a l-o-n-g vacation. Silsbee, TX had 101 degree weather while we enjoyed 80 degrees here. We drove 1500 miles in 2 days to be here! I read our trip back. You need to eat at Shady maple in Blue Ball and Casa Dinoi (Pizza) in Wrightsville. Both are wonderful! Also I recommend going to the visitor’s center in Columbia (over the bridge), they were helpful. Tomorrow we will get up and head back to 100 degree weather.

We stayed for three nights and from the minute we got there everything was perfect. The cabin is beautiful, everything we needed and somethings we didn't know we needed were supplied for us. The bed was so comfortable there were days I didn't want to get out of bed. As to another guests concerns about firewood and water temperature, well this was a non issue for us. We were able to buy wood in town for the fireplace, then walk the woods to find the rest. this made for a very cozy time in front of the fire at night. The water temperature was perfect, got enough hot water for showers and dishes. Thank you so much for the opportunity to stay here and get away from our busy lives for awhile and finally relaxe. We will absolutely be back soon!! Kathryn and Christina

Great cabin...secluded, all the comforts of home, and close enough to plenty of sights in/around Dutch Country. Tremendous customer service!

We stayed 3 nights at this pet-friendly cabin with our dogs. The setting in the woods and next to the creek is really beautiful and peaceful. The owners have updated the cabin with a new bathroom, bedroom floors and provided just about everything you would need in the kitchen and cabin. (You bring your own bed linens and towels). All of the furniture is very comfortable and clean and there is a large TV with cable service. Addressing another reviewer's concerns: We never had problems with the hot water or the dishwasher during our stay. We have ATT/Cingular cell phones and were able to make calls on the bridge and parking area. It's a cabin in the woods and we actually relish being disconnected. There is much to do in the area with the lake nearby and Lancaster 20 minutes away. We took a trip to Gettysburg (about 1 hr - where you can also take dogs on leashes). We enjoyed our stay and hope to be back again.

The cabin and the setting are very pretty. But the people who own it need to pay more attention to detail. First, there are no phones in the cabin and cell phones don't work that well. So if you are staying there and some one needs to reach you in an emergency, I was told by the owner that the only way to do that is to call the local police. This seems very dangerous to me. We also had no hot water all weekend. The owners should know that's a problem and should fix it before they rent to people. They did give us a partial refund, however. The dishwasher works very poorly. We had to run it several times. Maybe that's because there's no hot water! Also, there is no firewood. since it rained all weekend we couldn't go get our own so we couldn't use the fireplace. They should supply you with some firewood or not list the fireplace as an attraction. Same with the gas grill--it had no propane so we couldn't use it. So my conclusion is that this is a nice place but if the owners want to continue renting it they should really pay more attention to problems and not be so cheap about firewood and propane and hot water.
Owner response:For future renters; As per our listing, this cabin is located in an idyllic setting in the woods. We personally have cell service with ATT/Cingular and there is Verizon service at the crest of the hill on our property. In an attempt to be environmentally conscious, we installed an expensive inline hot water heater from Rinnae and have experienced several problems with the hot water in the shower. We have had a total of eight service calls and were told two days before the guest arrived that the hot water in the shower was fixed. Since the problem was intermittent, we explained this to the guest before they arrived and told them if they experienced any problems they could leave and there would be no charge. The guests chose to stay and we discounted their stay and also sent them a gift certificate for there inconvenience. There was hot water everywhere but the shower. We have subsequently installed a water purification system and have been guaranteed that this will finally fix the hot water in the shower. We were not notified of the dishwasher or gas grill issues until after they left. The dishwasher is less then six months old as are all the appliances and has since been service. There was propane for the grill but we turn it off at the tank for safety purposes. We have subsequently left detailed instructions on how to operate the grill and turn on the propane tank. We have bought a spare just in case. As for the rainy weather………………we have chosen not to stockpile firewood in the cabin due to health and sanitary reasons. The cabin also features two gas log fireplaces, one in the bedroom and one in the kitchen, in addition to the wood burning fireplace in the living room. There is also a candle insert for the fireplace for those guest who do not which to hassle with wood. We are very sorry these guests were disappointed and have discussed these issues with the individuals that rented the cabin, Agin,we discounted the rate and sent a gift certificate for a future stay. We make every effort to make everyone’s stay enjoyable and address each issue as soon as we are notified.
