Owner's Profile

Owner Description

Year Purchased: 2007

Hi, I'm Debbie Bishop/owner of Mt. View Management in Orem, Utah. I have the pleasure of managing two cabins on the Provo River - please see also VRBO listing # 135230.

Why the Owner Chose Provo

Both cabins are ideal for family vacations, fishing trips, etc. We hare many guests who come to Provo to bring their children for BYU sports camps & EFY ! Perfect location for these events! We are located 10 miles up Provo Canyon on a new 4-lane highway. Drive another 15 miles from the cabin to Midway/Heber, and another 15 miles to Park City. There are many fun & interesting places to visit - the cabins each have a book with lists of things to do, sites to see!

The Unique Benefits of this Cabin

The scenery is beautiful - the color of the mountains right across the river change with the seasons. The temps are perfect - typically 10-15 degrees cooler than in town. At night, you'll need a blanket! Sit by the river and just relax, listen to gurgling river flowing by, watch the birds and enjoy the quiet! If you have kids, there's a grassy place for them to run & play! Nearby walking trails, and other nearby attractions! Fishing in the Provo River is world-class; river rafting in the summer months is very popular!
We have gas grills for BBQing and a fire pit for roasting hotdogs & s'mores around the campfire. Outdoor tables for picnics. No reason to be inside until dark, then snuggle up & enjoy satellite TV or a movie!
There are on-site caretakers nearby that manage the RV park. They can help you with anything you may need!

Fisherman's Paradise

Date of Stay: 04/18/11 Review Submitted: 04/26/11

My wife, daughter and I stayed at the cabin for the week of 4/18/2011. The cabin was clean and well maintained, the owners were great people, helpful and attentive without being over bearing. The setting is spectacular with views of the surrounding snow-capped mountains and the river literally 10 steps from the front door. What is hard to beleive is that all this is only 10 minutes from the city with great shopping and dining, but if you fish you won't want to leave. The weather was typical Utah spring, thunderstorms and cold followed by warm and sunny, and the river was high due to water releases in preparation for spring runoff. Even with less than ideal conditions the fishing was fantastic, brown trout and rainbows were abundant. including a personal best rainbow on a fly rod. The lake above the cabin was also loaded with nice rainbows if you don't fly fish. Overall, a great cabin in a perfect setting for anyone that likes to fish.

Great little cabin on the river!!

Date of Stay: 06/06/10 Review Submitted: 06/15/10

We stayed at this cabin for a week in early June, 2010. Very clean and well thought-out place. My buddy fished his brains out and caught some rainbows and brown trout. Lots of other wildlife around too (deer, beavers). Worked out great versus a hotel. Highly recommend!!
