We were comfortable in this house from the moment we walked through the door! We found the house to be very clean, organized and well equipped with kitchen utensils, paper products as well as games and books for entertainment. There was more than enough room for our family of four and the three additional visitors who arrived later in the week. The location is perfect for walking into town to enjoy the shops and restaurants. It is also a great location if you are visiting Woodstock to ski at one of the many nearby areas. We visit the Woodstock area frequently and are hoping we can stay in this wonderful house again - it would be an excellent choice no matter what time of the year you are planning to travel to the area.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, pet owners, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Delightful home in an incredibly convenient vacation location. The house is warm and cozy, but has plenty of room. It has a well equipped kitchen and great family gathering spaces. It is clean and well maintained. There are hiking trails accessible from the house and a short walk through the village. We went skiing at killington, a short 25 minutes away. Restaurants and shopping are in ample supply. There are two great gyms and plenty of other recreation opportunities. The owners are accessible and incredibly friendly. I would highly recommend this as a most reasonable home away from home.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

I love Vermont and have vacationed in many of the towns but always wanted to stay in Woodstock, VT. I can tell you, I will be back to this house. It is comfortable and well - stocked with towels, dishes, pans, etc. The kitchen is new as well as the bathrooms. I work 2 jobs so sleep was very important to me. The beds were soooo comfortable. The air is fresh. The night is quiet. The location is central enough to travel to all other points in Vermont, Mass, NH and even Maine and Canada. Woodstock is so charming and inviting you can end each day with a stroll through the village. And, the neighbors are nice! 3 points to remember: 1. If you are taller than 5'4, you will have to really bend to wash your hair in the shower. But, if you don't wash your hair every day, the bonus is you don't have to worry about a shower cap! 2. There is only 1 TV 3. If you are interested in night life, all of Vermont shuts down at dusk so this is probably not the vacation spot for you.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, tourists without a car, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We had a delightful stay (family of 5 - 2 adults, children ages 9,7,2).The home was very clean, well equipped (towels, kitchen tools, bath towels, etc), the location and view were a bonus! Everything was in perfect working order and was exactly as described. Deborah was easy to work with: quick to respond to all questions, etc. both prior to and during our visit. The location was perfect, as we were able to walk to many of Woodstock's nearby attractions (Billings Farm, local stores...ice cream and coffee shops!, hiking paths, Mt.Tom), and yet it is located up a small hill and just far enough outside of town to allow for privacy. The home was comfortable and easily accommodated our family of 5 and our few periodic guests. We would definitely stay here again.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway.

Wrap-around deck was great when the weather closed in as the kids had outside space to play in out of the rain. Location good, close to all village amenities. Neighbors all friendly too. Bedrooms very comfortable, kitchen well-equipped and modern. Parking very convenient and off-street. Property was clean and everything worked. Recommend for families looking for a simple vacation with traditional activities. We enjoyed cycling, walking, shopping/eating in the village and exploring the local attractions - espcially Montshire science center.Recommended for: Age 55+, adventure seekers, families with young children.

The house was absolutely lovely in the summer. The ceiling fans in almost every room kept us nice and cool and being up on the hill always felt breezy compared to downtown. The house is within walking distance of everything Woodstock has to offer and provides a lovely respite for afternoon toddler naps. Everything was in great condition and the decorating was very tasteful. The kitchen was very well-appointed. Oh, and the neighbors (Regina) were so pleasant! (We borrowed a rolling pin in order to make some pie.)Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We had a wonderful stay with many (very short) walks into downtown Woodstock. The location is perfect. The home was immaculate and charming. The bedrooms are roomy, airy and comfortable. The kitchen and baths are modern and everything worked like a charm. We spent hours enjoying the wrap-around porch watching the clouds pass and the sun set. We hope to return.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

We had a wonderful vacation in Woodstock. 30 minutes to Killington, 40 minutes to Okemo. Walk down the hill two blocks into Woodstock Village. Mountain Creamery for breakfast is a must. Mac's grocery store is right down the street, Gillinghams General Store had just about everything a person would need. Sledding on Mt. Tom just past Billings Farm was a highlight. The house was perfect for our family of four. The kitchen is spacious with the breakfast bar and the sitting room area we could all hang out while dinner was being prepared. The beds were extremely comfortable. The views from big living room window during snow showers was beautiful. Deborah was a pleasure to work with. We would recommend this home to any of our friends and family. I've said it a hundred times, thank you Deb and Chris.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, pet owners, families with young children, tourists without a car, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Our two week stay in Woodstock was one of the most peaceful and relaxing holidays we have ever had. The house was so comfortable and well equipped. Many happy hours were spent sitting outside on the rocking chairs, in the sunshine, watching the humming birds, the red cardinals and chipmunks. It is a lovely location from which to explore Vermont and all that this lovely state has to offer. it was a perfect holiday. Thank you.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

We had a great time staying at this lovely house on the hill. My husband and I came with our 22 month old daughter and right away we felt at home. The house is immaculate, the bed and bath linens were all super soft and fresh, the kitchen is well stocked with pots/pans/utensils for cooking in, and the views from the porch were a great addition to our al fresco dining every day. We also got to take advantage of the clawfoot tub--especially with some bath salts made and purchased just down the street at Thistle! The location can't be beat -- we barely used our car since it is a short walk to the attractions that our daughter favored most (every single day!) including the nearby river, the covered bridge and the park on South Street near the Woodstock Inn. Other area attractions that we loved are literally a two to ten minute drive, including VINS, Billings Farm and Quechee Gorge -- all of which make timing meals and naps ideal for young families. We will definitely look into staying here again.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Why the Owner Chose Woodstock:
We are a family of five living on Nantucket Island, MA. We moved there from Vermont 9 years ago and found ourselves traveling back frequently to visit family and friends in the Woodstock area. With three children and two dogs, it became increasingly impractical to impose on friends and family, so we decided to buy a home in the area. We found this house and asked family members to "preview" it for us. Upon receiving their feedback, we were so sure this was the right house that we made an offer before we even visited it ourselves. We have never looked back - it's just a great little house.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
We chose this particular house because of it's fabulous location right in the village. We love being able to walk EVERYWHERE we might possibly want to go in town. We spend a lot of time in the car during the course of our daily lives and really enjoy not having to hop in the car all the time when we are in Woodstock. Our kids enjoy the freedom of doing their own thing, whether it be walking down to Gillingham's General Store for penny candy, or down to the river for a picnic. My husband and I love to sit on the porch and admire the beautiful view in the late afternoons and evenings. We have spent Christmas in this house several times, and it is truly magical. Skiing is nearby and we find it very hard to leave each time we visit.
