The perfect vacation getaway - rustic in appearance but elegantly comfortable! This one-level home is located in a small residential neighborhood of million-dollar homes on beautiful Chickamauga Lake. Deer, duck, geese, and cranes are routine visitors. This rustic-style home sits atop a gentle hill where there is always a breeze on the enormous screened-in wrap-around porch. Across the street, a short walk through the pines takes you to our private dock. A boat ramp access area is just a block away, so bring your boat, jet skis, and water toys, or simply enjoy GREAT fishing off the dock.
The house is panelled in knotty pine throughout with hardwood and ceramic tile floors; the bedrooms, of course, are carpeted and spacious. It features a great room with a giant fireplace and beveled-glass french doors that open onto the porch, large open-plan kitchen, and enormous screened-in porch overlooking the lake. Three bedrooms sleep 8. Master bedroom with cathedral ceiling, french doors that open onto the screened porch. Includes large walk-in closet, king-sized bed and private bath with shower and jetted jacuzzi brand whirlpool tub. Private bedroom has two twin beds and its own closet. Large back bedroom is set up to sleep five in twin and bunk beds. This large room is perfect for the kids' bunk-house.
Central air and heat are two years old. This house is fully furnished, including linens and towels. The living room is equipped with cable TV and VCR/DVD, with additional cable connections in every room. There is a large gas grill. Completely equipped kitchen with all cooking utensils, coffee maker, microwave, dishwasher, and state-of-the-art washer and dryer. This is a non-smoking home, but We are DOG FRIENDLY to those well-mannered pooches of moderate size. Please inquire.
Within a short drive you can find Ocoee River Rafting, Lake Winnipesauka Amusement Park, Cumberland County Playhouse, Tennessee Valley Theater, Atomic Speedway, The Tennessee Aquarium, Rock City, Ruby Falls, and Enterprise South. Two marinas (Shady Grove and Pine Harbor) are five minutes by water. Local restaurant five minutes by water. Downtown Chattanooga approximately 40 minutes by car. Or bring your boat/jet-ski and don't go anywhere! A bird-watching paradise is right outside the porch screen with over a dozen bird feeders filled for your viewing pleasure.
Our house is located right off the main channel of Chicamauga lake in a quiet cove. If you want unrestricted fun, this is it! You'll have 35,000 acres of water and 810 miles of shore line to explore. Bring your boat or rent one. Lakeside restaurants and marinas are abundant on the lake. Black Crappie, Blue Catfish, Bluegill, Channel Catfish, Largemouth Bass, Redear Sunfish, Sauger, Smallmouth Bass, Spotted Bass, Striped Bass, White Bass, White Crappie, Yellow Perch abound. One of the more popular marinas (offering some of the best food around, on or off the lake!) is only two miles from the house.
The setting is peaceful and serene. This is the place to get away from it all and start on that book you've always meant to get around to writing. It is a wonderful setting for a retreat - either corporate or personal. Enjoy walking the neighborhood in safety and without traffic. Listen to the owls in the evening and watch the stars come out; we are far enough from the city lights that you can see the Milky Way in its glory. This is a place you'll want to revisit time and time again. It is a little bit of paradise and just a little bit magic.

It's got absolutely everything...mountains, beautiful rivers and lakes, fabulous people, abundant cultural everything - you can never run out of fun things to do. The cottage is just far enough out of the city to be very peaceful and get the quiet we all crave and yet close enough to conveniently get to some of the greatest attractions any place has to offer. You could stay for months and still have new things to see and do.

You might get to witness a deer walking by in the back yard, that has happened to many! Just to the front of the screened in wrap around porch is bird lovers paradise and beyond that a view of Chickamauga Lake, a perfect get-away. Peaceful, quiet, cozy.

My father purchased this lake cottage home in 1952 and our childhood was loaded with many summers of family vacation memories. Learned to water ski, caught my first fish, heard Dad's ghost stories while warming our feet in front of the fireplace (until he fell asleep) this was THE PLACE!
