We used this home to gather as family as we celebrated our grandchild's graduation from university. It is in an excellent location to coffee shops, the Presidio, transportation and much more. The home was clean and well appointed and a great place to host a party. Mary is accommodating and extremely helpful. The welcome cake and bottle of wine were a caring touch. We would stay here again. Guests from Seattle, WA.

My family of nine and I stayed here for my graduation from UC Berkeley. We could not have picked a better place. The house was very clean and tastefully decorated and upon arrival, we received a really nice cake and a bottle of wine which was a nice welcoming gesture. The house had a really nice lush backyard where we enjoyed having some of our meals when the weather allowed. We also used the barbeque which was in great condition. The only thing missing was a light in the backyard while barbequing as it got very dark after a while. The house was situated in a great location close to public transportation and had plenty of room for parking. With the Presidio so close by, we enjoyed many beautiful morning runs. One of the best things about the house was definitely the owner Mary who was very kind and helpful since the very first email we exchanged. As I was living in Berkeley, Mary invited me to come to take a look at the house before I made any decisions which I greatly appreciated. In addition, on the day of our arrival, we asked for an earlier check-in which Mary simply organized. We all loved our stay at Mary’s place and we would have loved to stay longer. If we ever need a place to stay in San Francisco, we will definitely stay at this property. I sincerely recommend this place to anyone as there was absolutely nothing to complain about. Thank you Mary for a wonderful visit!

Our family spent another wonderful week at this lovely home. This is our second year renting the property. We had plenty of room to spread out, and we again took advantage of the plentiful amentities to host a dinner party with our friends. The home was spotless on our arrival. We were delighted to be greeted by a bottle of wine and a "welcome back" cake -- what a nice personal touch! We love being so close to the Presidio (great place to run), shopping, restaurants and cafes. We hope to make this home our annual retreat.

Great House in Wonderful Part of the The City

This was the second time my family has rented this home. The house is very nicely appointed, and can accomodate quite a few people. It was more than enough space for my family of 4. We loved using it as our home away from home for a few days. Staying here is so much better than being in a hotel at the Wharf/Union Square! In addition, the neighborhood is excellent. The Inner Richmond/Lake St. area has a bunch of great restaurants nearby (Chapeau! on Clement is outstanding and there are a bunch of other great spots in walking distance). There's a good coffee shop a block away (@ 7th/Cal). Mountain Lake Park is behind the house, and Presidio Golf Course is a short walk away. Street parking quite easy. Owners are responsive and accomodating. Maybe I shouldn't say any more nice things or I won't be able to rent this place in the future.

This home is beautiful and, with the Presidio right out the back door and the ocean a short drive, it is an ideal location. The beds are excellent- we like firm beds and were very happy- and Mary was wonderful. Excellent vacation home and great for families!

A group of friends and I rented this wonderful home when we visited San Francisco for a wedding. It is beautiful, spacious and well-appointed, and its proprietor Mary is very sweet and attentive. We had a lovely cake and bottle of wine awaiting us upon arrival -- what a personal touch! The location is great, too -- we enjoyed several early morning runs in the Presidio. We recommend this rental without hesitation.

My wife and I used the place to host a party and couldn't have been more pleased. Nice location w/ very spacious accommodations. Everything was as described w/ a few extra touches that gave it a special feel. Bravo, Mary, to a beatiful home. Five of us -- 2 adults and 3 teens/pre-teens -- stayed at the house of a week. Everything about the stay was perfect. The house is very well equipped, and allowed us to feel at home. Very warm and accomodating. The location is great -- easy walk to great restaurants along Clement, and a quick hop into the Presidio or Golden Gate Park. It's ideally located for easy access to the rest of San Francisco, Marin and the South Bay too. Gave us a great feel on what it would like to live in San Francisco -- which we greatly appreciated. Mary also is a fantastic host. She went out of her way to make us feel welcome and to ensure everything was perfect!

We took our entire family, 8 adults, 2 children, on a week long vacation to San Francisco. Mary's house was a perfect fit for our family. We spent the days in the city and enjoyed evenings cooking and relaxing around the dining room table. Both the upstairs deck and the backyard were great places to hang out and enjoy the outdoors. The beds were very comfortable and there was plenty of room for everyone. Mary was great and we would love to return some day.

Staying Here Was A Simply A Treat

We stayed here for a week with 9 people in total in their 20's and 30's, and we really appreciated all the fantastic elements that this place has to offer. There was plenty of space for everyone to sleep, and the house itself is just gorgeous. The grill in the garden came in very handy, and the hospitality that Mary showed us from her quick and thorough answers to our questions before we even arrived to her thoughtfulness in offering to set up an extra air mattress went above and beyond. The home is located in a nice, safe area of San Francisco, and buses, cafes and a grocery store are all within walking distance. Having a car, however, was handy for trips to Trader Joe's or Shoprite.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Mary's house. There were five of us, including our three sons ranging in age from 11 to 22. We cooked meals there and we also enjoyed the great food in SF--especially the many choices for Asian food that were a short walk from the house. I especially recommend the Burmese restaurant--get the Tea Leaves Salad! The house was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. Easily accessible public transportation is nearby and there is a good walking area right in the back yard. I would recommend this house to anyone! It was a great home away from home. Also, it was MUCH better than a hotel and for our family it was more cost effective.

College reunion

My 3 friends and I (60+ but young at heart) spent 3 nights at Mary's home in June 2011. We had a fabulous time! Her home is lovely and inviting and we all got our own bedrooms. We cooked some meals there, but also enjoyed SF restaurants. We enjoyed being close to the Presidio for walks and runs. Everything worked well in the home, and we loved the garden view also. Would recommend to anyone--it also looked as though children would be welcome there (I'm a pediatrician!) Mary was warm and welcoming and even left us a welcoming cake and bottle of wine! Thanks!

THE PERFECT SAN FRAN WEEKEND!

We rented this amazing condo for a bachelorette weekend of fun - we had 12 girls in town, plus 4 girls who already lived in San Francisco. The house was perfect! Everyone arrived on Friday and we spent the afternoon sitting outside on the beautiful patio catching up. The rest of the weekend we were out and about the city, but it was so nice to come "home" in between activities, and have a peaceful place to take a nap or sit around and laugh with the girls. The house was immaculate - squeaky clean, comfy beds, spotless bathroom and kitchen, and the dining room table fit all of us perfectly. The location is fantastic, right next to the beautiful Presidio, and an easy cab ride/walk to a lot of places. The owner is FANTASTIC - one of the reasons I loved this house so much. She was so accommodating and nice. Everyone had such a great weekend, but it was largely due to this house - it was so much more fun being together than being in 10 different hotel rooms, and so much more cost effective! My friends and I are already planning our next trip to San Francisco so we can stay in the house. Can't say enough good things about this house!!

Words are not sufficient to describe how wonderful both Mary and her home on 7th Ave. were for recent family visit to San Francisco! She literally helped us at a moments notice after other arrangements fell through and provided us with a warm welcome, the loveliest of accomodations,and a wonderful neighborhood of parks, restraurants, and streets to wander! A perfect location for rest or adventure lies right out the beautiful front door! We would definitely stay her again(and plan to!) and consider Mary our new BFF!

We stayed here for 5 days with our 3 children (teens and tween). Mary is very kind and we felt most welcome. The cake and wine greeting us when we arrived was a nice touch. The location is perfect, with decent restaurants and groceries in walking distance, and easy access to public transportation. The Presidio trail is right out the door, which is great for walks or runs. The home is spacious and family friendly. Our family of 8 adults and two babies stayed at this lovely duplex over the Martin Luther King weekend; for us it was a celebration of my husband's 60th birthday, and with our grown children living in Sacramento and Santa Cruz, and us in Pasadena, this was a great idea - a weekend in San Francisco. The duplex was perfect for us, enough bedrooms, including the magnificent master suite, and with the added plus of a portacrib, blow up mattress, booster seat and the surprise of boxes of toddler toys. The kitchen was well-equipped, the dining room large enough for 10, the garden and outdoor grill easily accessible. We would love to come back in the summer and actually be able to spend more time outdoors on the property. The location, near the Presidio, and not far from Golden Gate Park, was also perfect. Even though we have spent much time in San Francisco over the years, renting this house made us feel like we actually lived in a neighborhood there. Shops and restaurants are just a walk away, and the cul-de-sac was quite secluded from traffic. It was a joy to listen to the fog horns at night. Working with the owner, Mary Gould, was also a good experience. She was beyond helpful with all of my questions about parking and markets; and thank-you for the welcome cake and bottle of wine. Her hospitality included great information about places to go in the neighborhood. Since we had cars, we did not use public transportation but I understand that it is readily available. We would love to come back some day, with our still expanding family.

The townhouse is beautiful. Everything was perfect. My family members didn't want to leave. Everyone enjoyed their own private space(s). The beds were comfortable and the house was supplied with everything we needed. Originally, we had booked several rooms at a hotel in South SF. I had many sleepless nights trying to figure out how and where we were going to prepare for the wedding. The house was the perfect solution and location.

Heaven on Seven!

We were already fans of the Inner Richmond neighborhood, having lived in the area for 2 years, so when we needed a place to live in between apartments, this home was a great option for us. This is not a rental, it's a HOME! It's a very comfortable home with every amenity imaginable. I cooked, I baked and everything and anything I could think of, was available. Washer/dryer/dishwasher/deck/grill! We sun-bathed & watched shooting stars! Now that we have moved out of the state, we will def. Be back. My son's favorite part was seeing, Gus (owner's big friendly dog); My husband's favorite part was feeling the early morning mist on the deck surrounded by the amazing presidio trees...heaven indeed.

We had a great week here even though the we had different interests. I loved the quiet of the area and the proximity to the beauty of the Presidio. Long quiet walks were what I was looking for and found it big time. My travel mates wanted the excitement of the city and found it readily available too! The house had everything we could want. The owners are next door and could not have been more accomodating. The house is well decorated and has a real feel of home vs. a stuffy hotel. We will be back!
