Just a few steps outside the cottage and down a gently sloping path is A HUGE DEEP WATER dock (not tidal) with large deck/landing and open ocean views. The is the BEST part of the cottage and a lot of fun. There is a nice picnic table on the landing so you can enjoy a quiet meal and gaze at the beautiful views. The dock is shared with Lofty. Kayak and or swim and enjoy your fresh Maine lobster on your own dock! Kids and adults alike will enjoy pulling up the lobster trap and seeing what sea treasures are inside.
Water views from every room. Located on a private dead end road this cute one bedroom cottage is perfect for relaxing on the ocean and enjoying the outdoors. Private yet only minutes from downtown Brunswick including Bowdoin College, the Maine State Music Theater, restaurants and shops. Fully renovated in 2007 this cottage features a knotty pine interior, new appliances and a full bath with large shower.
The cottage has a comfy knotty pine living room with cathedral ceiling that opens into a small deck just feet from the waters edge. Enjoy your morning coffee or evening drink as you watch the ospreys dive and the seals swim. The living room has a small color TV with DVD player for leisure time as well as mini stereo with mp3 player plug in capability. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the necessities including a big lobster pot.
Oh, almost forgot we include the use of two kayaks...a 14 foot Old Town "Dirigo" and an 12 foot Rogue River "Trekk" for your use during your stay. Forget renting kayaks, save money, no need!
Kayak to Little Snow island or interior Quahog Bay (see link below for more information on the island). This is a very neat kayak trip.
If you like hikes and are looking for a wonderful one, Karen and I recommend Morse Mountain Preserve owned by Bates College in Phippsburg.. It's a 4 mile loop that leads to Seawall Beach, the views are incredible and the hike is doable even with kids. For more information see the link below.
Attention Boaters....there is a mooring available that will handle up to a 30' boat, if you need to arrive by boat or moor at the house for the week. We are getting many inquiries from sailors who want to arrive by boat. The mooring and dock are available with prior arrangements and a small additional fee for use of the mooring. If you are interested in renting a 15 foot daysailor to enjoy on the bay just let us know.
