This cozy,whimsical,PET FRIENDLY, island style cottage is located in the enormously popular, small beach side community of Old Florida Cottages. Located on the south side of Scenic Hwy. 30-A, there are no roads to cross going to the beach...which is only 200 yards away. Or,simply step out the back door and walk TEN easy steps to the newly renovated pool and picnic area.
This tropical home is perfect for a small family or two couples. The master bedroom has a king-size bed with private bath and balcony. The guest bedroom has a queen-size bed with private bath and balcony. All bedrooms have new, flat screen cable TVs. For your convenience, each bedroom has a wall mounted hairdryer. (Both beds have quality firm, pillow top mattresses for extra sleeping comfort.) Upstairs balconies have deep hammocks that invite you to nap daily. And, acclaimed juried artist, Tim McAllister, has created - just for Mellow Yellow - an awesome Dolphin underwater viewing mural on the upstairs landing that will mesmerize you; and, bring you a sense of calm and peace. His art can also be found in other areas of the house and his efforts have truly contributed to the uniqueness of this fun, wonderfully comfortable, home.
The first floor has an open plan with front and back porches. The living room - which has art/decor reflecting the feel of a rain forest - has a queen sleeper sofa and a new, flat screen color TV with DVD/Radio. There is also a CD/tape player for your enjoyment. The dining room has an oval table that will comfortably seat six. Four adjacent bar stools allow you further seating. The fully equipped gourmet kitchen makes meal prep a breeze. Whip up a batch of margaritas in the blender to sip while watching the sunset. Or, how about a "cheeseburger in paradise" concocted on your own grill on the back porch? DSL/Wireless available.
Within walking distance are some great eateries, and delightful shopping at Gulf Place. Scenic 30-A boasts wonderful restaurants, many of which have been written up - and rated well up there! - in Bon Appetite and other food periodicals. And Goat Feathers, just steps away, has a seafood market on site. Nearby is Silver Sands, the largest outlet mall in the States, Sandestin-with its great golf, boutique shopping, and even more fine restaurants, Santa Rosa Beach and Golf Club located right on 30-A, Grayton Beach, and world renowned Seaside, where the Truman Story was filmed.
Experience beautiful beaches with sugar white sand that stays cool on the hottest day. I'm a panhandle native, lived and cruised on a 60' sailboat for well over a decade (many years in the islands) and I STILL LOVE THIS BEACH - with a passion! And, YES, our boardwalk has been repaired from the hurricanes and the beach and gulf are still deliciously inviting... :). The stroll to get there is easy for even small children. The listing was accurate and Mellow Yellow is one of the most charming places that we have rented so far from VRBO. The photos reflect some but not all of the charm of this most pleasant townhome. The access to the beach was convenient, we had our granddaughter with us as well as the dog and we had a most marvelous time. Mellow Yellow is close to 30 A and a lot of wonderful restaurants. The owner was extremely helpful with all our questions. Not only would I recommend this beautiful townhome we plan to go again!

We were provided with everything one could need prior to our arrival, from maps, directions, restaurant suggestions, etc. Upon arrival we were stunned, everything was perfect. The Mellow Yellow was spotless, so clean and cozy. There was plenty of space to set up our gigantic dog crate, which was very important for us! There was everything you could need; new washer/dryer, dishwasher, rocking chairs on the front porch, and hammocks on the two upstairs porches! It was well represented, everything you expected is what you got plus some. Pat went out of her way to accommodate us, make us feel at home, and make us part of her beach family! It was very relaxing, I cannot wait to go back down!! We had a huge grill that was ours and shared pooled in the community, but we never actually used the pool The BEACH was too BEAUTIFUL! About a block down the road is your beach access, there is a shower and a bathroom there for your beach departure. There is also a really great guy who sets up your chairs and umbrella if you choose to rent them. I suggest YOU DO! It made everything easier having it all right there, not too mention we rented a KAYAK, best decision we made!!! The pup (a 100lb German Shepherd) went to the beach and had a ball. (dogs are allowed before 9 and after 6) We went for runs on the beach, played in the water, swam, chased birds, played fetch, dug in the sand, and socialized with some other pups. If you have a dog you can definitely appreciate this. The mornings and the evenings were my favorite part of each day. The whole family got to play together....it was awesome. It is such a privilege to have your dog allowed on the beach....SO REMEMBER TO CLEAN UP AFTER YOUR DOG!!! EVERYONE DOES! The beaches are so clean and gorgeous. Santa Rosa beach was just voted #3 most beautiful beach in the nation! A short walk from the house is a business area that houses a coffee shop, restaurants, shops, bars, a pharmacy, etc... But we did drive the extra few miles every day to go to SeaSide Village. Our best dinners were down there, I got a fresh juice every morning from RAW N JUICY, my husband enjoyed many hotdogs from an airstream van, and we shopped at Modica Market which had everything from toilet paper to fine wines...their prepared foods were delicious. WE LOVE THE MELLOW YELLOW ... WE WILL BE RETURNING SOONER THAN LATER!!

This cottage was perfect for the three adults and our small pet yorkie. Very clean and comfortable. Everything was easy to locate. Beaches, pool, restaurants, shops. The only thing that didn't work was our Lap-top. Very enjoyable and would definiterly rent this place again without a doubt.

Am puzzled about your laptop not working so, to make sure it wasn't a malfunction at the cottage, have already contacted someone to explore the situation. There's a password to access the internet and am wondering if that info was somehow removed or pushed aside prior to your arrival. I'm so sorry you didn't call me -- maybe could have gotten you online asap. It's important to all of us these days to "stay connected". We truly enjoyed our stay at Mellow Yellow. The property is roomy, comfortable and very clean. The back decks overlook the swimming pool and our perfect for early morning coffee or evening drinks. Also, you can't beat the location. The house is on the beachside of 30A and a short walk to the beach--no need to worry about parking. We can't wait to go back!
