We were looking for a place to lay back and relax. The cottage provided that and more. Super cozy, nicely decorated, new appliances including double door fridge, dishwasher, and washer and dryer. Short drive to great historic locations, great places to bike ride and walk the beach. We found reasonable places for great lunches, but always headed back to the super view at he cottage to barbeque dinner. Julia, the owner is a great host, low key and no hassles what so ever. The four legged owners, Ketchum and Timber, were a delight, welcoming and well behaved. A great place to stay, we'll be back.

This place is amazing! The pictures do NOT do it justice. It was more than we expected. We enjoyed evening sunsets on the deck and coffee in the morning on the deck as well. The view of the water is breathtaking. We brough our dog "Jake" he is a sheppard/dobi mix that is blind and he had so much room to roam in the home without running into things and the fenced side yard was PERFECT when we needed him to be safe outside. There were so many things we could have done around Whidbey but we found it most enjoyable just sitting on the deck staring out at the water, watching the bunnies in the yard and listening to all the birds. It is so quiet and peaceful, a much needed break from the city noise. We did venture to Maxwelton Beach with our dog and it was great! If you want a nice getaway that is close enough to get to but makes you feel a million miles away.... Rent this place! The owner Julia is amazing and so easy to deal with if you need anything. We give this an "A" for quaint escape, privacy and relaxation. A must see.

It was so nice to stay in a cottage that provided the peace one seeks on Whidbey Island. The mature trees, the unobstruced ocean view, and tucked-away setting combine to give you that highly desirable "old Whidbey" feeling. This authentic Whidbey cabin also has modern conviences. You have high speed internet and favorite TV channels, and you can run to the store in just minutes. This is also such a dog-friendly place! This cabin is a very comfortable place to vacation with your dog. This will undoubedly be appreciated by all dog owners who can't bear to leave their friends at home! I am so pleased to have found this gem of a vacation place on Whidbey Island. The owner, Julia Higgins, is a pleasure to work with. She is always directly available by phone. Our week-long stay was one of the best vacations we've had. I highly recommend it.

For two 60+ couples, this was great. We were able to read, drink coffee, watch the sun rise. the sun set, count birds, and cruise around the island to find the best little hide-away tourist jaunts and stores, before coming back home to kick back. The next door doggie Cooper and his owner were so friendly and helpful. The grounds were beautiful and provided all and more than we had hoped for. The island has so much quaint kitch to catch if you can find it. . . home grown green eggs, Mukilteo Coffee, etc. . good luck! The views were beyond belief, the details of the home were extremely comfortable and all things considered this would be a first choice for us to return to. Thanks Julie for a wonderful stay!

My husband and I have rented a number of places on Whidbey throughout the years but this cabin really is a special place. Beautiful piece of property and a charming cabin with everything you need to have a comfortable stay. The owner is very easy to deal with and accomodating. I almost thought about not writing this review because I don't want alot of people booking this place which would create more competition to reserve this cabin in the future!!

Thank you for sharing your beautiful cottage on Whidbey Island. My husband and I just stayed there this past weekend and had a great time. It is truly a magical place with gorgeous landscaping and the cottage is very comfortable and peaceful. Our dogs LOVED everything about the cottage and it was so refreshing to go to a place that is so dog friendly.

My wife and I had a wedding to attend on the island. Since there are not many hotels we decided to try this cottage and we loved it! The cottage is somewhat secluded with great views of the water. The furniture is very comfortable ad the entire property is very well maintained. I would recommend this cottage to anyone looking to get away.

What a fun time we had! The kids loved the loft and enjoyed watching the bunnies hop about in the yard. The cottage has everything you could possibly need. The yard is large and well maintained. We brought our Lab and he enjoyed it immensely. The communication with the owner was easy and efficient. Highly recommended!

Our owners brought us (two rambunctious French Bulldogs) to this beautiful place for a weekend stay. Our 86 year old grandma came, too. We all arrived to a fresh flower bouquet and homemade strawberry shortcake (yum). The fenced yard was large and manicured and we were allowed to run free with wild abandon. The setting was tranquil, with unsurpassed views of the Sound and glorious sunsets. The 1940's "cottage" was comfortable, charming and kitschy - although we weren't allowed on the furniture. It was fun to discover the outbuildings scattered around the property (one had a clawfoot tub, the other a fireplace). Our people barbecued (again, yum) lounged around on the deck, and dozed off in the adirondack chairs. It was a great time for everyone!

The cottage and grounds were lovely: low-key, relaxed, comfortable, and the homemade desserts waiting for us were great! Wonderful view. Our young daughters absolutely ADORED the loft - they are still talking about how perfect it was, just for them. We don't have a dog, but we love them, and much appreciate the dog-friendliness. We'll be back!

My husband and I loved our week at the Holmes Harbor cabin. We found it immaculate, comfortable and cozy with many artistic touches. The owner was accommodating and provided excellent communications before, during and after our stay. The cabin's location on nearly 2 acres features stunning views of the water and sunsets, plus a peaceful, private setting that's hard to replicate on Whidbey Island. We enjoyed fishing, beachcombing, Farmer's Markets, fresh salmon, halibut and crabcakes; homemade pies; and postcard scenery everywhere we went. I don't think you can beat the price/value and amenities of this very charming cabin.

"We had a 5 day stay in July and had an outstanding time on the island. The cottage was just perfect - it exceeded our expectations. From the awesome flowers and treats upon our arrival to the stunning views from the deck - the property was just perfect for our stay. The attention to detail was greatly appreciated - especially the doggie wash as we brought our 2 black labs with us. They also loved the property - lots of room and totally fenced - even the dog toys that were provided. We will definitely return for a longer stay in the future. Thanks for providing the perfect vacation cottage!!"

We spent 4 days in June here. It was so peaceful and beautiful. The house is well equiped with everything you need. Whidby Island is fun to explore. We did a lot of hiking and beach combing. This is also a great place to stay if you want to hop on the ferry and visit the Olympic peninsula. The sunsets are gorgeous. Kitchen has enough equipment to cook what you want to cook. We stayed in to eat and enjoyed the fabulous view from the dining room. The grocery store is only 5 minutes away.

The interior was clean and clutter-free, nicely decorated, comfortable furniture, with beautiful views from every window. Outside was spectacularly landscaped with tons of seating options, shade umbrellas, a swing, hammock - I felt so spoiled! It was luxurious and I felt pampered!

This cottage on Whidbey Island could not be more perfect! It is simply but beautifully decorated, so comfortable, and so renewing. The grounds are so well-kept--beautiful flowers and greenery, a stunning view, a lovely deck to sit and watch the sunrise or sunset. The owner is a delight, helpful in all respects. I dream of returning!

I lived on Whidbey for 20 yrs and still love to come back from time to time. This is the place I will use as my home away from home. I woke up to the harbor as smooth as glass, an eagle in the tree above me, my cup of coffee in my hand and my nightgown still on, sitting in an adirondack chair on the deck. It was so relaxing & pristine. Whidbey Island always reminds me to slow down and appreciate life and this little oasis is where I will do that, again & again. Thank you Julia for sharing this with me.

I am just leaving the property after a weekend of work, study and solitude. I only wish I could stay longer :( It is a great place - very cozy and sweet - plenty of room for a small family or group of friends, for sure. The location is stellar - beautiful high bank waterfront, private setting. The house is perfectly appointed and set up to be so welcoming upon guest's arrival. Thank you so much - I hope to be back!

This Whidbey Cottage is a "storybook" place. The cottage is a dollhouse, but the two acres of manicured grass facing the most beautiful water view anywhere on Whidbey cannot be beat. Close to restaurants and shopping and a view to die for, we could not have hoped for a better place. This indeed is a find!!

This place is a real gem. We selected it as a place to get together for a family vacation with our Seattle-based daughter and it was perfect. Spacious lawn, clean, roomy, hospitable, quiet, plenty to do in the area. You name it, it's here. We want to return.

This beautiful property completely exceeded our expectations. The photos posted here don't begin to capture the gorgeous grounds and charming cottage. It was a great place to recover from the day-to-day insanity of urban life. We enjoyed a quiet, peaceful week here and were sad to say good-bye. We fell in love with Whidbey Island during this first visit. JH…we would love first dibs if you ever consider selling this awesome property. Thanks too for your special treats!Denise & Herb
