Escape the crowds, yet stay right on the banks of the beautiful Missouri River where you’ll want to fish, sightsee, watch birds or just relax. Our four-bedroom lodge, creatively crafted in an old metal barn, is located in the heart of blue ribbon trout country. Rising rainbows and browns are visible from the window of the full, modern kitchen. The lodge also has a dining room, two bathrooms, a spacious great room, a covered front porch and private areas that make it comfortable for up to 8-10 people. The lodge was designed for comfort and privacy and is appointed with boating and fishing antiques. Located just 31 miles south of Great Falls and 60 miles north of Helena, it is on an 11-acre parcel with some 500 feet of river frontage, which gives access to almost a mile of excellent wading water. Removed from the interstate, it offers the privacy and solitude of true Montana ranch country. Floaters and fly fishers love to fish this stretch of the Missouri, but its limited access keeps the crowds mostly upstream. Birders especially are attracted to the area to see eagles, osprey, hawks, pelicans, kingfishers, ducks and geese. Our small, fly-tying cabin right on the bank of the river is a special bonus with beautiful water and mountain views. Towns nearby include the small river town of Cascade, six miles to the north; Great Falls, 30 miles north; and Craig, 25 miles south. Restaurants include the Missouri Inn, downstream about 10 miles, and the Badger in Cascade, and many choices in Great Falls. Cascade has a grocery store and meat market. Amenities: Full kitchen, microwave, dishwasher, cooking utensils, DVD and VCR, barbeque on covered porch, linens provided. Cellular phones have reception. No smoking. Activities (on site or nearby): Fishing, hunting, hiking, bird watching, floating, sightseeing. Small guest cabin right on river bank is also available to rent (suitable for one or two; has running water but no hot water).
