This detached luxurious villa is in a quiet area yet a stroll away from the centre of upmarket Begur with its tapas bars, restaurants, shops and markets.
Sa Riera beach is 5 mins away with cliff top walks and beach restaurants. The villa is built on 3 levels with modern design and contemporary furnishings, ideal for a self catering family holiday.
The split level living/dining with double height ceiling is stylishly furnished. Patio doors open to a large raised terrace with seating for 10 people.
All 5 bedrooms are generous in size and comfort-the master bedroom is en suite with dressing room and outside terrace. A second en suite bedroom has patio doors to a large sunny terrace accessing the pool/garden area. A large family bedroom has bunk beds-the children love it!
The outside terraces invite you to cook and dine alfresco while enjoying the romantic sea, pool and castle views! The pool is
8m x 4m with loungers. The garden and BBQ area is large and ideal for children to play! Enjoy!
Large well maintained planted garden with lemon and olive trees. Private pool 8m x 4m, tiled surround with 10 sun loungers-ideal for sunbathing followed by a leisurely dip! Pool can be lit at night to enhance the holiday ambiance.The pool can also be heated to a comfortable 23-26 degrees1 BBQ area with wooden patio table and chairs-the Weber barbecue does an excellent job.
Upper terrace off bedroom 2 -ideal for catching the morning sunshine. Upper raised terrace off the living area with extend optional glass top table and seating for ten. Best seats in the house-enjoy the view!
5 minute drive from the villa to the sheltered sandy beach at Sa Riera. Cliff top walks with breathtaking views will work up an appetite for the seafood available in the beach side restaurants. A safe family beach. Small coves and sandy bays abound in this area such as Sa Tuna, Fornells and Aiguablava. All within 10-15 minute drive. Huge sandy beach at Playa de Pals -you can walk for miles! Good windsurfing here too. Scuba diving and snorkeling are excellent in this area - diving school in Begur.
The Costa Brava has recently won an award for The Best Emerging Golf Destination Worldwide by IAGTO. Why? Because the Costa Brava now hosts some of the finest golf courses in Europe. In the last decade the area has become host to nine excellent golf courses,ranging from par 3 up to championship level, all within a 45 minute drive of our villa. What's more, the very reasonable green fee rates and the ready availability of tee times make the Costa Brava a real rising star in the world of golf. We provide specific details of all golf courses within an easy drive of our villa in our house manual. Bring those golf clubs - you won't be disappointed!
Skiing in the French Pyrenees and Andorra within 2 hours
Girona airport-35 kms-45 minute drive approx. Ryanair have several daily flights to Girona from London Stansted and also daily flights from most UK airports. Ryanair also have flights from most leading European airports to Girona.
Barcelona-100kms-1.5 hours drive approx.
Perpignan-just over the French border-1.5 hours drive to this airport.
Calais-12 hour drive.
Car hire recommended-Hertz, Avis and Goldcar are the major car hire companies in Girona airport and are bookable on-line.
Begur-500m walk-charming hillside village overlooking the sea.
Sa Riera-sandy cove just 5 mins by car.
Calella de Palafrugell and Llafranc-pretty seaside resorts with good sandy beaches, restaurants etc -10/15 mins drive.
Peratallada - medieval moated village -20 mins.
La Bisbal-famous for ceramics.
Girona -wonderful cultural city-a must see! -45 min drive.
Barcelona - magnificent architecture-vibrant city teeming with character - 1.5 hour drive or take the train from Flaca - 20 mins away.
Begur is a pretty medieval village with cobbled streets and whitewashed houses draping the hillside below the ruins of a stone castle. Catalan bars and restaurants specializing in seafood surround the central pedestrianized square. Service is friendly and children are welcomed and cherished by the Catalans. Locally produced wines compliment the fare. The vineyards producing the wines will welcome you to wine tasting. There are excellent supermarkets and specialist fishmonger and butcher shops. Freshly baked bread is available in many shops.
The local park is very close to the villa and is host to many fiestas and fieras during the summer months. Outdoor markets are commonplace in many local villages -on Wednesday Begur hosts it's own, selling fresh local produce and clothes/shoes.
For the fit among us, local activities include cycling, diving, fishing, golf, mountain biking, sailing, swimming, tennis, walking and wind surfing. The area is renowned for terrific diving with many local diving schools. Fabulous beach and cliff walking.

Why the Owner Chose Begur
We fell in love with the Catalan region over 20 years ago and visited Catalonia and Barcelona many times before buying our villa in Begur in 2007.We love the beauty of Begur and the many different villages ,coves and towns of the area-there are a great variety of beautiful places to visit.We think the ambiance of Begur is special-it is truly Catalan in nature and the area has not been spoilt by over- agressive tourism.The area is safe and we feel very comfortable allowing our child to grow up in Begur. We enjoy the good food of the region and the authentic feel of the local cuisine.Finally,we just love the Spanish and Catalan way of life!

We had a lovely vacation in this holiday villa in July 2010.The facilities of the villa are top class and the owners and managers were prompt,helpful and really pleasant to deal with throughout our stay.The location of the villa is superb -it is a short walk into the beautiful village of Begur and the lovely cove of Sa Riera. The villa is spacious and very well equipped and everything was spotless upon our arrival.All in all,we had a memorable and relaxing vacation and I would return in a heartbeat!To be highly recommended.

We had a wonderful time at Villa Rosa! Thank you so much for your information, courtesy and willingness to provide us with what we needed for our vacation. Your managers were very helpful and prompt to requests, which was greatly appreciated. The housecleaner was thorough and did a wonderful job. And the house was great! We enjoyed the pool often and enjoyed sitting out on the porch and eating meals out there. All in all a great trip and we miss Begur already. We will definitely be back.

All too often in life expectation exceeds experience. Thankfully this can not be said of our 2010 family and friends vacation at Villa Rosa in beautiful Begur. This house is a charming contemporary and perfectly located villa with five proper bedrooms and all the creature comforts we needed for our stay. This was my first experience of booking a vacation off the internet and I was naturally aprehensive, particularily as friends were joining us from further afield. As the owners know too well I contacted them frequently prior to our confirmation constantly seeking clarification and reassurance. I must say they could not have been more available responsive and helpful. Their management team in Begur "Bob and Kerrie" were fantastic too. It was a great comfort to know that should any difficultys arise they were near by. As we arrived in early summer it is memorable that without asking they had the presence of mind to turn on the swimming pool heating system a couple of days in advance. This was inspired foresight as we traveled with five children under fourteen all of whom were happily swimming within ten minutes of our arrival. The house exceeded our expectations in all regards and was Stylish spacious and comfortable for a party of eleven. it was also equipped with high speed wireless internet which was essential for three of our party throughout our stay. We had forgotten that the house also had a garden which allthough slightly sloping was great for sun loungers, bar-b -queing and most of all for the kids to play in. The other surprise was just how close the villa was to the centre of Begur village. In literally five minutes and following a delightful stroll through the charming backstreets of Begur the village square revealed itself to us. I simply cannot recommend this villa highly enough. We will be back.
