Outstanding home, owners and setting. Owner provides extensive area info both before arrival an in the house. REntal is just as described--fully furnished and equipped. Very quiet private location. Access by fairly steep gravel road but not cliff--edge. Regular car is fine in most weather. Owner available by email or phone if questions arise. We had a lovely week of relaxing on the decks and exploring the area

The cabin is very cosy and the location is perfect, secluded with a beautiful view. We enjoyed the screened porch and the large deck with hot tub very much. There was everything wie needed in- and outside the house. Communicating with the owner was a pleasure and we got lots of information. The cities of Blue Ridge and Ellijay are just a short drive away with nice restaurants. We would definitely stay there again.

We were eager to get away from the jam packed beaches of the Tampa Bay area. Antler Ridge Hideaway was the perfect getaway for our Spring Break! Sandy, the owner, sent us a plethora of information, including directions, a list restaurants, the best grocery store, and a great list of fun things to do. She made it so easy to plan out our entire trip before we even arrived. She is so easy to talk to and is eager to answer any questions we had. The drive up to the cabin was a bit scary for us flatlanders, but the road is well graded and the Antler Ridge Hideaway has a brand new paved driveway. When we arrived, we could not wait to see if the view was as amazing as the pictures. And, oh my, was it ever stunning! We really enjoyed the seclusion. The cabin was spacious, clean and comfortable for our family of four. We were out exploring most days, but in the evenings, we enjoyed the hot tub and game room. We had perfect weather while in Blue Ridge (Highs in the 70's & Lows in the 50s). We enjoyed exploring Amicalola Falls, Consolidated Gold Mine in Dahlonega, Rock Creek, downtown Blue Ridge, Mercier Orchard. We even spent a day at Stone Mountain. Harvest on Main restaurant was very good. They use fresh local ingredients and serve up really tasty food. If visiting Dahlonega, be sure to stop by The Smith House. They serve the BEST Southern cooking family-style. The hot tub wasn't working properly when we arrived. We figured something must have happened when the new air conditioning unit was being installed hours before our arrival. Sandy and Al had a repairman out immediately and the hot tub was in running order just in time for an evening dip. We were very impressed with the response time. It really shows they take pride in their cabins and ensure their guests have a pleasant stay. We can't wait to visit Blue Ridge again! We have raved to all of our friends and family about the cabin and all of the fun things to do in Blue Ridge and the surrounding area. Our daughters 3 yrs & 7 yrs old haven't stopped talking about this vacation. What more could we ask for than a vacation our family will never forget?!

Another dad and I and five boys had a nice weekend in this cabin. They boys had a great time with the pool/airhockey table. And the Xbox came in handy when we had a very rainy day. Sandy, the owner, is very detailed and everything was in perfect order. Going here is like going to a hotel. You don't need to bring anything special, just some food. The cabin has a nice view of a valley, and you can access the Benton-McKay trail by a short walk down the road. We would go back here.

My Husband, Son, Mom, and I had a lovely stay at this cabin. There was plenty of room for all and the suite downstairs with games and was another great place to hang out as well as the living room upstairs. The owners are extremely helpful with information about the area, couldn't have been nicer! The cabin was well stocked in the kitchen in order to make your own meals or downtown BlueRidge is only a few minutes away with restaurants and shopping. The fireplaces worked great along with the fire pit outside with plenty of room for our dogbtomrun around. We also ventured to the Benton Trail at the bottom of the mountain which follows a creek with great views. The cabin has a great cabin feel with all the fun decor andmwas very clean, we can't wait to go back!

We enjoyed the upstairs very much. Very cozy environment. We cooked all our evening meals in and found the kitchen a bit lacking in some things, but we made do with what was there. No problems. The hot tub was nice. The stairs inside are very steep so getting to the hot tub was done very carefully. The hot tub and downtairs can be reached from outside stairs, but when it is freezing we chose the inside staircase. Again, no problems, just needed to be careful. We enjoyed our stay very much. The photos of the of the rental were accurate. Very cozy is what we thought when we saw them and that is what we found. The house was clean and well maintained. The owner was so very helpful. The fireplace would not work when we arrived so we called the owner. Not only did they help us over the phone, but sent us an email of instructions to make sure we knew how the fireplace worked. So nice and so helpful! I would recommend this property but not to elderly or families with young children due to the inside stairs. That is the only reason I would not recommend. Everything else is great! The restaurants in Blue Ridge are nice, but the one we really enjoyed was Harvest on Main. It was great !!! We had lunch there every day this time in Blue Ridge and everything we had was delicious!!!! We have been to Blue Ridge several times before this visit. This was our favorite visit and Antler's Ridge was responsible for this being our favorite visit. I would definately go back to this home.

What a great place! We’ve stayed at a number of vacation rentals and Antler Ridge was by far the best in terms of comfort, cleanliness, and being provided with everything we needed for a very enjoyable stay. The view is outstanding. We greatly enjoyed the outdoor hot tub and the fire pit (well stocked with split wood). There are many excellent places to see and hike in the area. For a rigorous hike, we followed the Appellation Trail to the top of Blood Mountain and were rewarded with a fantastic view of the surrounding mountains and valleys. Fort Mountain provided a less strenuous hike with another very nice view. Our rock climbers enjoyed our visit Rock Town in the Crockford-Pigeon Mountain WMA.

This Cabin is wonderful. It is just the right size for family trips and the owners are very accommodating to pets. The rooms were very comfortable and having the gas log stove and fireplace was AWESOME. We were very warm considering how cold it got a night. The drive up to the cabin was a lot easier than we expected and the paved driveway was really nice. The view was the best we've seen from a cabin rental. The cabin was perfectly located between Blue Ridge and Ellijay and not very far from all the activities in the area. The owners were very helpful and informative at all times. We will definitely be repeat business.

We had a wonderful time. The cabin was great, comfy beds, very well appointed and very well stocked with everything we needed in the kitchen. The owner, Sandy couldn't have been more accommodating and thoughtful. The views from the huge decks (with lots of chairs, tables and swings) were spectacular. We will absolutely be back! Dear Sandy and Al, We had a wonderful time at your beautiful cabin! The leaves were at their peak and were breathtaking! The weather was perfect! Mid 40's at night, low 70's during the day. The view from both decks (and the queen bedroom) unbelievable! We could hardly believe how gorgeous the view was! We saw deer while driving up and down the road to the cabin! The town of Blue Ridge was so pet friendly. Our pups were welcome to come in all the shops! They had such a good time! We all slept like logs every night after hiking the property and site seeing all day! We had such fun at the firepit, and the fireplace inside was cozy to snuggle in front of after dinner. We will definitely come back and we will recommend your cabin to other friends and family. It is awsome and in an incredibly beautiful setting. Thanks for everying! John and Amy
Owner response:We are so thrilled when guests enjoy their stay! Blue Ridge is an amazing pet friendly community with well behaved dogs welcomed in most shops and outdoor eateries. With the Benton MacKaye Trail only steps away from the cabin, hiking is enjoyed year round.

It's always tricky to find a place to rent sight unseen. You never know what might be waiting for you. We were pleasantly surprised to discover exactly what we were hoping for. This cabin had everything we needed to enjoy a peaceful, relaxing time. The deck was huge and the view was lovely. It sits almost on top of the mountain and you do not see another cabin or really any other hint of civilization. We loved it! Sandy, the owner, was very attentive and completely thorough in her communication. She was a wealth of knowledge on where to go and what to do which was so nice for us b/c it was our 1st time to the area. We will definitely be back and have to try one of their other cabins. If you are looking to get away, this is the place.

We enjoyed our week long vacation with our two labradors very much. This cabin is very nice and have beautifull view.It was nice to seat on porch, listen the nature and watching the hummingbirds. We was lucky to see bear mother with two cubs under this cabin second day of our visit. To be anest,we had problem to get to this cabin with our Honda Pilot SUV with front wheel drive, but it was because of the weather condition,it was very dry weather.Third day start rain, and after that the road was much better. In local area is lots of things to see,and local people was very nice.We also lost power for 4hours,but this cabin had lots baterys and candles,it was fun.We had no complain about this cabin, accept few spider webs around all cabin and porch, and dirthy bubles in the hot tub, even the hot tub gets clean after each visitor,my opinion is that dirthy water allways stay in pipes. But after 3 days the water was fine.Owners should remove the picture of biliard from this add, there is air hockey. Afterall,we have to say that we enjoy this cabin very much, and i have to thanks to the owners for everything.Sandy was very helpfull with advices, and everytime i needed to talk to her about something, she was allways on the phone or email.I met a lots of rentiers, and Powels (owners) is one of the nicest people i had to deal with. We are originaly from Czech Republic EU,and To remind our moutain country ,this part of North Georgia was it best choice.Next year we will go again.
Owner response:We are so glad that the Hideaway and its view reminded our guests of their homeland. We do want to note that we do have a 7 ft. pool table that can be turned and becomes air hockey. The driveway is being paved with texturing next week so we can avoid problems with dry weather.

Beautiful Cabin w/ 5 star accommodation, the up keep exceeded any of our expectations. The extras left around the cabin made us feel like we had the comforts of home brought on our vacation. There was hot coco in the cabinets, laundry detergent, charcoal for the grill etc. the little things you may forget being on vacation. The kids we're occupied non-stop while inside the cabin. cable tv, Xbox, board games, pool table, air hockey, movies on VHS & DVD....this allowed us a lot of relaxing time in the jet style hot tub that was super clean and much needed. The endless view from every room, porch/patio was breath taking. I have never had such gorgeous family pictures taken. The outdoor activities kept us on a new adventure everyday. We went on mountain hikes, with the walking sticks that we're left for our use by the owners of the cabin. (fantastic idea)!! The no shoot zone at the Antler Ridge HideAway allowed the kids and I to experience up close and personal encounters with rabbits, deer, birds, reptiles & the pictures of the black bear family we're simply amazing and exciting to see. We are city folks so having the small town with unique stores and a walmart close by was fantastic. All in all I have to say if having to choose my most fond memory, i honestly would not be able to pick just one! This is on the top of our list for best family vacation.

My family and I spent a very relaxing week here. The cabin was very well maintained and suited all of our needs. The view was lovely and the kids enjoyed the games and activites in the cabin. The road to the cabin was a little treacherous, but doable once we got used to it. My daughter and I really loved the little town of Blue Ridge. Very cute shops lined the streets. My favorites were "Feezey Wigs" and "River Junction Photography". Our favorite restaurant was in Ellijay, "The Blue Door". It provided great food at a reasonable price. Hiking, rafting and gem mining were all well within a managable distance. Overall we had a great trip!

I am def going to suggest to all my friends and family to go stay at this beautiful log cabin!!!

This is our second time to rent a cabin from the Powells, the first time, however to rent this cabin. We were very satisfied!! The cabin is exactly as it is listed--secluded--at the end of a road in fact, so there is NO traffic coming anywhere near the cabin. We really liked that. It has fantastic living space outside--something we love--our kids love to be outside as well, and this cabin has a wonderful deck and a screened-in porch with cool breezes from the ceiling fans. Our family really enjoyed the fire pit--I think we had a fire every day/night that we were there. The cabin was well stocked; we had everything we needed, and then some! It was very clean and orderly, beautifully decorated, and comfortably appointed. The bedrooms were comfortable--we loved having two bedrooms on the main level since we had our mom and dad along and they don't do stairs well anymore at their ages. We also like to bring our dog along and Sandy made sure that he had everything he needed during his stay. It was nice not having to pack a crate and food bowls. The game room was nice--the kids enjoyed playing air hockey and pool, as well as the x-box 360. Sandy was very helpful in making sure that we had tons of information about the area--we had plenty of options and it was nice of her to provide that so I didn't have to spend the time online researching activities. The only disappointment about this cabin were the stairs going from the main level down to the basement level. They were treacherous. I'm glad my mom and dad didn't have to use these stairs--the rest of us had to go up and down them sideways to keep from falling, and our dog couldn't traverse them at all. Just be aware if you aren't able to get up and down almost ladder-type stairs, this might not be the cabin for you. We would definitely recommend this property to friends and we hope to stay there again in the future. We've been to the Powell's cabins in the spring, the summer, and next we hope to do a stay during the fall. The views from the deck and porch are breathtaking!!! We saw deer and a coyote during our stay. No bears though. The Hideaway is a great place to get away from everything and just unwind and relax. We took advantage of the BMT being close by and hiked some of it. It was such a nice walk in the woods! If you decide to get away to the Hideaway, you'll be glad you did!!

I really dont get the 5 star reviews. While the view is absolutely fantastic, the cabin is a bit worn down. The furniture is a bit old & weathered. The "amenities" aren't that great. I have stayed at better. Also be sure to have a mid-sized or larger vehicle, DO NOT try with a smaller car...the roads are too steep and the "grading" is loose gravel.
Owner response:While we tell perspective guests and guests who have booked the cabin to not drive small vehicles, this couple drove a small car. Roads are well graded with gravel on top of graded road.

For almost 30 years, we have rented vacation homes throughout the mountains and all over north America including Canada. Over the years, we developed a wish list of things we want and don't want in a vacation property. Some of those things include a clean, well maintained, well stocked home that has beautiful views, privacy, and allows pets. Working with a property owner vs. a management company is also a huge plus. I mention all this because this warm, cozy, adorable, clean and beautifully decorated cabin is everything you could possibly want for an authentic getaway in the mountains. The outdoor space is just as spectacular! The hot tub, the decks and the fire pit allow you to take in the splendor of the mountains on this stunning piece of property fondly called Antler Ridge Hideaway. The Owners, Al and Sandy, are truly special people! The way they have stocked this cabin and decorated this cabin, and provided all the entertainment and information you could possibly want about the surrounding area and fun things to do is a true testament to the difference between truly caring Owners and property managers. Al and Sandy were always accessible and very helpful no matter what we needed. Rarely, do we go back to the same cabin...except for this cabin. We have already booked our next visit. For many more reasons than those mentioned in this review, you will not be disappointed if you choose this wonderful property!!

After working through a very busy and stressful restaurant-holiday season, my fiance took me to this wonderful mountain get-away that proved to be a much needed and very relaxing vacation. Upon arrival, we had no trouble getting in after following the directions given to us by the owner. We were pleased to find not only all of the perks that were listed in the description, but so much more. A coffee maker with coffee (something we are both dependent on and tend to forget). Plenty of linens, everything was easy to operate. There is not much to say about the cabin other than it has everything that you need, not only coffee and cable, but the views are fantastic and it's close to so much fun stuff to do. It was nice to find something that pleasantly accommodated the two of us, but it could comfortable sleep six without any trouble. We went to Amiacola Falls one day, and when we got back to the cabin we soaked in the hot tub. Walking down the mountain road to the Benton McKaye trail was also very enjoyable, although we did not venture far as it was getting dark soon. As a chef, i had no trouble preparing what i thought was a wonderful meal in the kitchen. I also appreciated that the dishwasher was very quiet. The beds are all comfortable, we slept downstairs, but napped for a bit on one of the twins and the queen. The porch is very pleasant for coffee and reading, and the deck downstairs is phenomenal. Even in the middle of January, its views were appreciated. We plan to return as soon as we can!

we honeymooned at this cabin in early October (the leaves just started to change when we left). The cabin was immaculate and had almost everything we could possibly need in the kitchen, bedrooms, hot tub, etc. The decorations were perfect for the atmosphere. We could barely drag ourselves away from the view from the great deck (and hot tub) but the nearest town of Blue Ridge has a surprising amount of decent restaurants and gift shops. There were also a lot of local festivals while we were there and Atlanta and Chattanooga are easy drives. Mostly we just sat on that deck, though. There's also a screen porch which would be nice during mosquito weather. Beds were comfy, satellite TV worked well, wi-fi worked well. The owners were extremely accessible during our planning and sent us a great deal of information about the area. I would absolutely recommend this property and we hope to return on an anniversary in the future.

We stayed at the Antler Ridge Hideaway cabin for 5 nights at the end of a two week trip from Texas to Arkansas and to Georgia via Alabama. It was the first time in the USA for our two grown up daughters and they loved the contrast between the wide open spaces of Texas and the beautiful mountain scenery in Northern Georgia. We arrived at the end of a day of rain and the road up to the cabin was a bit slippery for our fully loaded minivan but that did not deter us from getting into the cabin, unpacking and getting straight into the hot tub on the lower of the two decks. There was lots to do and see near Cherry Log (just as Sandy had told us in the exchanges of e-mails we had from our first enquiry). The cabin also had lots of information about the local area which made getting deciding where to go that much easier. Sandy had given us excellent directions to the cabin and I think the service he provided in terms of information and the ease of booking was excellent. Having travelled so far it was reassuring to know that we had his cell phone number if we needed to check anything out or if there were any problems. We needn't have worried because the cabin was absolutely perfect and just as described on the VRBO site. It was clean, homely and very comfortable and was better equipped than our home! We all enjoyed the mountain views from the two decks but did not see any wildlife near the cabin but did see deer and turkey on the way down to the main road. We visited Amicalola Falls, the Consolidated Gold Mine in Dahlonega, Mercier apple orchards (fried apple pie - yum), Macaysville and the girls went white water rafting on the Ocoee river while we went shoppoing in Chattanooga. We have rented homes in the USA several times (twice via VRBO) and have never been disappointed and this was no exception. I would recommend the cabin to anyone who likes good clean mountain air and I would certainly rent from the owners again next time we stay in Georgia.

The pictures do not do this cabin justice. Seems that there have been improvements to this cabin since these pictures were taken. We spent lots of time enjoying the quiet peacefulness of this location. Hope to rent this cabin again in the near future. It is secluded. We did not see another cabin from ours. The cabin was very clean. Sandy was wonderful to rent from and very informative about the surrounding area. We highly recommend Harvest on Main in Blue Ridge. One of the bests steaks, but a little pricey. Blue Jeans has wonderful pizza. Visit Amicalola Falls and Brasstown Bald. If you are going in the fall, go to Uncle Shucks corn maze in Dawsonville. We had a great time there. We will return for sure and I can't wait.

We are so happy we chose Antler Ridge as the cabin to stay at for our five day/four night vacation. We couldn't have asked for more from Sandy as a hostess. She was so helpful with providing us information on the area in advance and fantastic directions to the cabin. When we came up the driveway and saw the breathtaking view we knew we were going to have an amazing stay just from that alone. Everything at Antler Ridge is taken care of for you from the great kitchen amenities to the soft linens and extra blankets, to the recreational games and even a treadmill. Blue Ridge was a great location that provided so many things nearby for us to do as a family. We stayed at a different cabin last year in Ellijay and Antler Ridge by far surpassed that one. My children, ages 3 and 6, and my nephew also 6, had the time of their lives that week and made wonderful memories! We would love to come back in the Fall and see the view through the changing leaves! I'm sure it's amazing! Thanks again to the Powell Family for the use of their little piece of Heaven! We won't forget this incredible time we shared together!

We had a great time! The cabin was extremely clean, nice and well maintained. Exactly what you would expect anice mountain house to be. Very comfortable. So much for us to do. My son loved the cabin, the games, and pool/airhockey table. Great views. Very relaxing and the hot tub on the deck is so great after a day of hiking. Everything was exactly as described. The owners are wonderful and were very helpful with activity suggestions, restaurants etc. We went to Amichola Falls, Consolidated Gold Mine and Ocoee white water rafting center (great place for swimming and hiking). We rode the train from Blue Ridge and tubed down the Toccoi river. Can't wait to return!!

Very comfortable. Very nicely decorated, equipped and furnished. The owner is VERY nice and made sure we had everything we needed including info on things to do and see in the area. The cabin is private yet has a great view, which is a combination that's hard to find and hard to beat. Very reasonable rates. We will be back!

We had such a wonderful time this past summer at our stay. We have 3 children and we all had such a wonderful time at the cabin. We built so many memories and had such wonderful quality time together. It was such a beautiful view we were blown away every morning we woke up! I highly recommend staying here. It will be a vacation you and your family will not forget. Everything you could possibly imagine was stocked in the cabin! We hardly even left because we were having such an amazing time. We are already planning our next stay here and can hardly wait!

This is a very nice cabin. The view at 6am in the morning was breath taking and the sun setting was just as beautiful. The kitchen is stocked well but I would bring a non stick pan for pancakes. Having cleaning supplies is nice especailly with children so that was a nice touch. My children really had a nice time playing the games and even the teenagers played twister. We visted the wolf winery and that was a real treat if you can go. I Would recommed you tour the Amacolola Fall at the beginning of your vaction it is a long walk about twenty minutes to the top with 175 steps to climb. But the best is at the top of the mountian the Loge has a buffet for all you can eat at lunch 8 dollars and supper its 11. Kids are 12 and under and they eat for 6 dollars wonderful food not a big varity but well worth the money. and the mountian view while you eat is devine. Note on Wednesday do not plan to shop many stores are closed on this day we even drove to tenn. their shops were closed. The drive way yes make sure you have tracktion control or a 4wd my van slide down and would not go back up without a running start. We had hundi's and a infinity and they worked fine. For kids if you go left on 74 they have a skate park we did not see till we were headed home. Over all had a great and relaxing vaction. We saw deer every day and heard the bears but never saw them. Great place for all ages even met a nice man that invited my son and brother in law to fish at his home and use his boat they really enjoyed that. Tocoo river has tubbing of only 5 dollars. It is worth it.

My family really enjoyed our recent stay at the cabin. The cabin contained all ammenities as advertised. It was quiet, secluded and the views from the deck were beautiful. Be prepared, it is a mountain cabin so the driveway is quite steep. We had no trouble though getting up and down the mountain. Beds were comfy and linens and towels were of excellent quality. The kitchen was better stocked than my own at home. Everything you need and more is provided. The kids enjoyed the games and Xbox. The location can't be beat! Close to everything, Blue Ridge, Amicalola Falls, Dahlonega, Ellijay, rafting, etc. The owners were very helpful from the reservation stage to check-out. We would definately recommend renting this cabin and will do so ourselves again the next time we stay in the North Georgia mountains. We even saw a bear! Great Fun!

Thank you for sharing your cabin with us. My husband and I had a fantastic time as well as our 7 and 3 year old girls. Sandy had provided us with numerous emails to make sure we knew how to get there, what was close by, fun things to do, good places to eat, etc... The cabin is beautiful and is equipped with anything you could think of. There are plenty of extra activities to do at the cabin some of which include the hot tub, books, DVD's, games, air hockey/pool table and the X-box. If you are up for a challenge, the Amicalola Falls was really neat and not too far away. We went horseback riding at Blanche Manor ( very kid friendly) and whitewater rafting at Ocoee Water Adventures. This cabin is a home away from home and you cannot find a more relaxing and peaceful place to sit but on the deck looking into the moutains!! Thanks again!

We truly enjoyed our stay at Antler Ridge Hideaway. Working with Sandy was a great experience. She is very friendly and does everything possible to insure that your stay at the cabin is a pleasurable one, including emails on things to do in the area and other guests' reviews on restaurants and area activities. We were blown away at the breathtaking view of the mountains right from the decks. The cabin was so nice and relaxing and there were so many things to do that we rarely left. We enjoyed the game tables, hot tub, the amazing view, and my husband truly enjoyed the video games. Our child (dog) also enjoyed the view from the screened porch. He loved looking at the birds and squirrels in the trees. We took a trip on the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway and enjoyed it. I had never been on a train before and really enjoyed the view of the Toccoa River. I would definitely recommend this cabin to others not only for the homey feel, amenities, and cleanliness, but also for the gracious owners who do everything to make you feel right at home. Thanks Sandy and Al!

Our stay at Antler Ridge was a perfect example of Relaxation at its finest! "Heaven on Earth" views of the surrounding mountains, nature flying overhead and mystery calls from within the woods, fresh clean crisp air filled our lungs with regenerative healing from the daily stress of life. We felt at home instantly with the cabins layout and decor. The rooms were cozy with Deer, Elk, Black Bear, and similar mountain themes reminding you while inside of your location. The steep drive up the mountain only excited us more with thoughts that this time we were on top of a mountain to view the less fortunate down below. The unbelievably large lower deck could comfortably accommodate a group of ten or more so the 4 of us never felt cramped even with a day visit of additional family members when we expressed the beauty of our location. The upper deck was spacious and screened in as well, a wonderful place to ponder the day ahead while enjoying the mornings coffee. Reading the other reviews I found myself chuckling at perceptions of negativity...the steep stairs that separated the floors were met with humor when my companions (the tallest being 5'2" with size 5 shoes) watched my size 12 feet and 6' two hundred seventy pound frame navigate them several times a day one step at a time in preschool child fashion. It's a cabin on the side of a mountain... I found the stairs perfectly suited to the location. I highly recommend staying at Antler Ridge and we intend to do so again...in the fall when the leaves will add their owe flavor to God's paintbrush. To me Heaven is God's Masterpiece and places like this are lesser works of art but still in Gods style. Do yourselves a favor and give yourselves a gift and stay at Antler Ridge, your mind and spirit deserve the treat. Peace

My mom, youngest son, oldest son and his girlfriend, husband and I celebrated my husband's birthday with a long weekend at the cabin. Road was a little unnerving but it was so nice to be secluded and not in a "compound" type setting. Cabin was very clean, very well-equipped, and was decorated very appropriately. (Many times vacation rentals look like they're decorated from the basement, attic and thrift stores - not the case here!!) Loved the little trees and lights around the windows downstairs - we kept them lit all weekend. Very festive! Also pleasantly surprised by the quality of the towels/washcloths. Rooms are small but beds were very comfortable, and room size is more than made up for by the deck and porch. Swings and chairs are extremely comfortable and view is breath-taking. Lingered over coffee on the porch each morning for over two hours -- just too peaceful to leave it! Also enjoyed the hot tub and roasting. marshmellows over the fire pit. Three deer paid a visit and were not the least bit skittish. Guys played golf at both White Path in Ellijay and Butternut in Blairsville. They enjoyed both but said White Path is the nicer course. Ladies enjoyed shopping in Blue Ridge and relaxing on the deck with a bottle of wine. Inside the cabin we enjoyed the games and TVs (had an intense game of Trival Pursuit one night and enjoyed the Ga/Auburn game another night). Lots of ladybugs, but, hey, they're good luck!! Had dinner at the Cajun Depot Grill in Ellijay -- excellent food, service and atmosphere, and very affordable. Also had lunch at Victorian House in Blue Ridge. Food was good, but service was lacking. Owner was wonderful to deal with and provided lots of information. Two things to note in cabin: Stairs are extremely steep and I was a little concerned about my mom being able to navigate them. But it wasn't a problem since we simply walked outside and down the outside steps most of the time. The other thing is that the doors from the downstairs bedroom to the living area downstairs are French doors -- i.e., they're glass with no curtains. So anyone staying in that room will not have privacy if there is somone sleeping on the sofa-bed in the living area. However, my son and his girlfriend proved that necessity is the mother of invention by temporarily relocating the spring rod and shower curtain from the bathroom to cover the French doors!! Great value for the money -- would highly recommend!!

Enjoyed a wonderful week here this fall with hubby and our pups! Great location - secluded yet close to both Elijay and Blue Ridge. Lovely home was very welcoming and well equipped and stocked by owner. Fabulous decks for relaxing, soothing hot tub and great view! Owner very pleasant and accomodating. We have great memories of sipping wine on the porch while watching the sun set behind the mountain while the colors of fall reveal themselves, watching the morning mist rise from the valley at sunrise, seeing the deer behind the cabin, hiking the BMT and no other cabins within view. Thanks for sharing your cabin and your slice of paradise!

We can only echo what everyone else has said. The cabin was exactly as advertised. Immaculately clean, adorably decorated, cozy yet spacious, comfortable beds and furniture, incredible view, lots of fun stuff to do. Nice little amenities like lap blankets, extra pillows, super thick towels, and washer/dryer. Even in the rain we could sit out on the porch or on the deck under the porch and stay dry, so though it rained almost the whole week we didn't feel couped up. The drive up the mountain was a little scary but we made it fine with a V-4 compact car. Also, the stairs between upstairs and down are VERY steep (though can also use outside steps which are much less so) so something to be aware of for a family with babies/toddlers or anyone who has trouble with stairs. All in all, highly recommended and we can't wait to go back.

We had a wonderful time at Hideaway cabin! The cabin is located in a rural location that gives great privacy and the feeling of seclusion. It had everything we needed for comfort and entertainment...the beds were very comfortable and our son loved the Xbox & pool table, not to mention the relaxing hot tub. Blue Ridge is a quaint little town with lots of character and great shops. We visited the waterfalls (beautiful!) and went tubing one day...that was a blast! Apple orchards are everywhere so we bought fresh apples and peaches to bring home with us. All in all, we spent most of our time in the cabin and exploring the woods around it...star gazing too. We will certainly be back and have already recommended it to several of our friends. Ms Sandy, expect some phone calls! Thanks for a wonderful experience!

We just got back from a wonderful week at "The Hideaway". Two couples with the husbands having a great time on their motorcycles traveling the beautiful winding mountain roads and taking a couple of days to play golf on one of the nearby golf courses. The girls brought our sewing machines and worked on our quilts, read a couple of the great books available and just reeee-laxxxxed and enjoyed the peace and quiet and the breathtaking view from the comfort of the front porch swing or rockers. We all took a couple of trips into the nearby towns for a little sightseeing, dinners and some shopping. Enjoyed the antique mall and the quilt shop too. But preferred to stay comfy and cozy at the cabin just kicking back. Playing games, poker or watching movies together at night. Everything we needed was there. We grilled steaks one night on the grill and had a visitor or two that came sniffing around the grill later that night. We saw the bear tracks all over the deck the next morning!! Cool!! Three tv's, internet access, hot tub, grill....most anything you think you'll need is there, but maybe the best thing is just the peace and beauty and having the perfect place to just not do anything at all! This was the most relaxing vacation we've had in so long and it was much needed and enjoyed. Thanks so much Sandy and Al!! You've truly thought of everything!! What a blessing it was.

What an amazing place!!! This cabin was the perfect escape for our family! The view is beautiful! The cabin is perfectly clean and stocked with many "extras" you may have forgotten to bring along! I stood out on the humongous lower deck and just stared at the mountains in front of me! There is so much to do here! We rode the Blue Ridge Railway. My 2 year old loved it! We hiked around Amicolola Falls. It's beautiful! My Golden Retriever was in heaven too! So much to explore! The owners of the cabin are very friendly and accomidating! They sent us all the information we needed from activities to do to the best places to eat! They will even help you find your way up the mountain :) We had to call on our way up there b/c we got lost! They helped us inexperienced mountain drivers through it! We will definately return to this cabin!!! Awesome trip!

I visited this cabin in June with my mother and 3 sisters for a girls weekend away. First of all, Sandy was wonderful, she was very friendly and very thorough on everything. The cabin was everything we hoped for and more. Sandy and Al have thought of everything at the cabin, don't worry if you forgot something at home, I am sure they have it supplied at the cabin. The view was amazing also, the mountains were amazing. We had a few visitors one evening....a mama bear and her two cubs came up really close to the cabin, it was awesome. You can really appreciate the beauty that God has created by staying at this cabin. My sisters, mother and I made plans to come back before we left and when I got home, I spread the word to friends about our experience. We enjoyed an afternoon of tubing and walking around town. We also enjoyed just staying at the cabin and enjoying the peace of quiet! We can not wait until our next visit.

You will not be sorry if you rent this cabin. It is extremely comfortable and the most beautiful place on this mountain. The cabin is well furnished and so inviting for you and a family. It is extremely clean and the owner, Sandy, will help you in any way possible. The restaurants in Blue Ridge are great. Just look around when there and choose a place with food of your liking and you will be happy. The grocery stores in the area are great and we did most of our eating at the cabin. We had a family reunion and the downstairs patio was great for for this occasion.

My husband and I absolutely loved the cabin. It was perfect for our romantic getaway. The cabin is located near the top of the mountain and the view is breathtaking. My husband and I spent many hours just sitting on the deck taking in the beauty. If you are looking for seclusion this is your cabin. But it also offers the best of both worlds with the comforts of town only minutes away. The inside of the cabin is gorgeous as well. From the moment we walked in we felt right at home. It is very clean and the owners have provided everything from pots and pans to video games, magazines, movies...anything you could ask for. The outdoor firepit is wonderful and the bubbly hot tub feels amazing on a cool mountain night. Most of our vacation was spent at the cabin. We never wanted to leave! We will definately be back again...very soon I hope!

You will not be disappointed in any way with this cabin! It is just like being in your own home. The owners attention to detail is incredible! Everytime I needed something (especially in the kitchen!) it was there. You really feel like you are visiting a long lost friend's house when you stay here. I was most impressed with the fact that the owners really went all out to provide top-of-the-line everything for their guests. The owners are also so appreciative of their renters and go all out to provide you with information regarding the area's activities and make sure any concerns you have are promptly taken care of. On a scale of 1-10 this cabin is a 10+. The view will take your breath away!!

My family and I recently enjoyed a stay at this beautiful property. The cabin is set in a secluded, tranquil mountain location surrounded by majestic pines and trees. Location is very private. The cabin was very clean and well-stocked. The cabin has a cute game room on the lower level that the kids enjoyed. They played pool, foozball, and air hockey. We all enjoyed the hot tub, which is located on the LARGE deck. My favorite experience of the trip was sitting in the hot tub each morning watching the morning mountain mist rise up into the sky like wisps of smoke. There are numerous things to do nearby. We went hiking at the Falls, Fort Mountain National Park, and all over "our" mountain. We panned for gold and gemstones. We visited the downtown areas of Ellijay and Blue Ridge, which both have quaint shops and cafes. Did a bit of fishing, too! We had a great experience and plan to return in the near future!
