I just returned from a truly wonderful stay at Valley Lane. We had a group of friends together for a weekend of games, cooking, and hiking. The pool and hot tub out back were great, the kitchen was well-stocked, and we had easy access to a nearby regional park with incredible hikes amidst giant redwood trees. If you do the math for the number of bedrooms, you will see that this location can easily sleep more than 14. There is the main house, and a separate side house which is also quite nice. I highly recommend this location, and would definitely stay here again.

This was a wonderful home and property for our family reunion of 17 people. The house was very clean upon our arrival. There were ample supplies of everything both in the kitchen area and the bathrooms. We found the kitchen easy to work in as all the cabinets were clearly labeled with the contents. We were very pleased with the property, overall. The outside deck and poolside areas were wonderful for "hanging out" to visit, relax, read, etc. The property provides many areas for small or large gatherings of people to visit or find quiet peace. Everyone was comfortable in their cozy beds and found the quiet neighborhood condusive to peaceful sleeping. We had a great time exploring the area as well with a trip to the beach one day, and to hike among the Armstrong redwoods the next day - so beautiful and impressive! We found the owner very pleasant to work with. He was very thorough when giving house instructions and very prompt with communication.

This home was perfect for our family gathering - really well-thought out. The amenities were fabulous -- awesome kitchen for cooks with all the updated gadgets, comfy beds, plenty of room, pool, ping pong and air hockey tables too. I was especially impressed with the gorgeous gardens and landscaping -- my sister-in-law made a delicious peach cobbler with the peaches growing there and I mixed mojitos with the mint! Owner very accommodating and communicative (checked in by phone on our first day to make sure everything was okay). A real pleasure, I would stay here again in a second!

This is a great place for a family reunion, especially with kids. The ping pong table on the deck was a winner with all of us, not just the kids. The kitchen is great. The pool area is like being at a hotel, but with none of the guests. Fantastic. The minimally chlorinated pool is a real plus. we had a great time, The house really suits a large family get together. We made peach cobbler with fruit from the property, had zucchini and tomatoes from the garden too. How nice.Thank you.

We are a group of five families all with 2 kids each, between the ages of 3-8. We all LOVED the house! The house was large, comfortable and clean, and the backyard was amazing. The kids were in the pool almost all day, and the adults enjoyed swimming, lounging in and by the pool, playing ping pong, etc. We also really enjoyed the big grill and took advantage of it each day. The kitchen was well stocked and incredibly organized. We brought loads of food with us and were able to make some great meals each day!! We were so comfortable during our 3 night stay that we didn't even feel the need to leave the house. We were perfectly content just hanging out together in this fabulous house. We have decided that we are definitely coming back and hope to make it an annual tradition!!

The location was splendid. It was a quick walk to the Gurneville town and also easy to get to Heldsburg etc. Being so close to town it was still very private and cozy. The house even though looked small from the front was big enough for 16+ people easily. The kitchen and the game room was the highlight. The deck in the back was also great for BBQ and hanging out by the pool. The ping pong table on the deck was great as we could both cook etc as well as play games in the backyard. The big screen TV was awesome. The pool was big enough for laps and the hot tub was large enough for 2 couples. We absolutely loved our stay and it was perfect for a reunion, in our case a graduation reunion with close friends.

We rented this beautiful home for a 6 family get together with several young kids. I cannot say enough about how lovely this setting is for an extended get together with a large group. Everyone in our group commented about what a perfect setting this is. The photos don't even do it justice. This is an IDEAL getaway with a fabulously stocked kitchen, great gathering spaces for large groups, a really lovely pool - everything was just perfect.

My cousins have a "Cousin Reunion" every four years and we have been many different locations, though mostly on the East Coast. This "home" has been the best by by far. It has an unbelievably well stocked kitchen! Everything -- plenty of dinnerware, glasses and large cookware, to spices, cupboard storage space and containers/baggies for leftovers. The layout of the house allows everyone to get together in a central living room and right out the back door to a large pool. But you can also slip way to your own bedroom (or cottage) for some privacy. The mattresses and bedding were very comfortable and luxurious with down comforters, etc. There are plenty of large bathroom and beach towels. All bath soaps and the laundry detergent were unscented, which I loved (I packed my own, but to my surprise I didn't need it.). The large screen TV was great and we were able to hook our computer up to it each evening to view everyone's photo's of that day! The house was located just outside Guerneville and close to many things to do. Woods, river, beach, winery's, parks, and downtown Guerneville. We took in many local attractions as well as just enjoying each others company, since this we only see each other every four years. There were enough of us to split up and go to different activities, and still enjoy the nice house. It was hard not to just hang out by the pool. The yard was stock-full of flowers, herbs and fruit trees (apple, pear, peach). All of which we used on a daily basis. And oh my gosh, the blackberries! I thought I was back in WV, only they were much easier to get too along the fence row! The swiss chard was a great surprise! If you are looking for a house that can be a home away from home, this is it! P.S. The printer was a perfect touch for the last evening since we each could print our boarding passes!

We had an amazing time at this house! We had about 20 people in our group and everyone had a bed. There are a lot of games and activities to entertain everyone in and out of the house. The kitchens were fully stocked with all the pots, pans, and gadgets you could need. I would definitely return to the property in the future and would recommend it to anyone looking for a large home to entertain a similar sized group.

Your home is beautiful and is large enough to fit everyone at the dining table. The bed rooms are roomy and it was nice that the blankets/comforters were of high quality that keep us warm at night. The house was easily heated making it very comfortable for a winter vacation. It was nice that you left some cabinets available for the food that we brought. The kitchen is well equipped and it was great for a family cooking together. The cable was a good feature so that we could watch the news cable stations. Having more than one T.V. worked out great for when you have kids who want to play video games or watch a movie. The Internet worked great, which meant a lot for those of us who had to stay in contact with our place of work. Cell reception was excellent. But, most of important was that it is in a fantastic location for enjoying time together. It is close to the beach, shopping, the river, hiking etc. We had a wonderful time.

Our stay was awesome! Great space for my 50th birthday party. The place was extremely beautiful, everyone remarked about how very comfortable the beds were. Lots of activities to keep our guests busy. The space allowed for privacy yet also had lots of areas to allow for open communication. Having wireless internet, and a T.V. in each room was a blessing. The guys had their T.V. for football while the gals could listen to music w/out the sports distraction. It was tranquil, fun, lots of nature, beautiful gardens, and swimming pool and hot tub was a joy. Also easily accessible to town. On Saturday the groups took nature walks, went to town, the library book fair, or chilled out at the house (that would be me LOL). I didn't have to do anything to entertain. Everything was there already, fully equipped kitchen, pool table, Fuze ball, ping pong... We also hooked our Nintendo Wii up to the T.V. and were able to play games. We ordered the best pizza I've ever had (Andorno's Pizza). We loved it all! The guests are already talking about making this a yearly trip.

I stayed in this home with my family and entire wedding party. The owner was extremely helpful and provided a "manual" for the house which helped with details (about turning on outside lights, how to use the sauna, etc.). He also was available to me via cell phone (and responded quickly when he couldn't be immediately reached) for any questions I had. The house also was more than adequately supplied to accommodate our large and diverse-in-age group. The pool, jacuzzi, pool table, air hockey table, ping pong table, etc. provided my guests with activities that would require interaction with one another. This was perfect both for my guests who didn't know each other really well as it provided them with an opportunity to get to know one another-as well as my guests who already knew each other and wanted to have some fun. The pictures don't quite capture fully the essence of the house. Before seeing the house, I was worried that it might not be as nice as the pictures-however, the house is much more magnificent in person. There are fruit trees and flower gardens-and the few of the mountain crest is breathtaking. Guerneville itself is a quaint and charming town. I honestly didn't spend too much time in the shops because I was busy occupying myself with my family in the vacation rental. But it is only a ten-15 min walk from the house-or about a 4 min drive. I would definitely return to this house and to Guerneville. I only hope the opportunity to do so presents itself.

We rented this home & cottage for 5 couples celebrating a 50th birthday. The location was great, in a very peaceful setting with gardens all around. The beds were comfortable with plenty of towels. The kitchen was well equipped. We enjoyed the ping pong table and the hot tub. Had plenty of room around the pool and on the decks. We really enjoyed going to the wineries in Napa, Sonoma and Healdsburg and it was great location to see the area. Thanks for the bottle of wine and you have a great vacation home.

The location and setting of the property is really superb. Great for family gatherings or for multiple families to enjoy a vacation together but still have privacy. It was especially great for us as we had lots of women and there were plenty of bathrooms!! The only thing missing from a well equipped home was an outdoor shower to rinse before entering the hot tub or the pool (they are adding one based on my comment). There was ample lawn furniture and seating for all where we never felt crowded either. It was an enjoyable time and near so much to see as well. Close to the town center, to national parks & state parks, the ocean and the vineyards. We really couldn't have asked for a better location.

Valley Lane is positively ideal for a family reunion. The house is beautiful, with a great layout for a large group. Everything was in terrific condition when we arrived. The hot tub was clean and used often. We were thrilled with the layout of the space and the ability to easily accommodate our group of 26. The outside entertaining areas were ideal, including the swimming pool and ping pong table. Loved the welcome bottle of wine! The climate is perfect for outdoor activities and long, enjoyable evenings on the deck and in the pool. The home and grounds have enough space that when someone needs to break away and have a bit of quiet, it's easy to do. In addition, the gardens across the property are breathtaking! For us, one of the best surprises was that this area is still very authentic -- it hasn't been invaded by tourists, and maintains all of it's original, rustic qualities. Geurneville is a lovely little town with many things to do within a 10-mile radius. Thank you for providing the perfect back-drop to a memorable family get-together

We rented this property for a 5 couple, 10 person family reunion for the week. It has extremely ample sleeping accomodations, and all our couples were happy with their space. The living room and dining room are nice large open spaces with great light and easy to gather together 10 or more people and not feel crowded. It has very nice decks in front and the rear deck is spacious overlooking the pool area. The pool and patio area is lovingly gardened and maintained, as is the front garden and pathways. The main house has a complete apartment fronting on the pool. We also used the very nice cottage that is adjacent and integrated into the property. Laundry facilities were great, the neighborhood was quiet, and we were blessed with perfect wine country weather. Downtown and all needs are only a short few minutes drive away. We had activities from Healdsburg, to Jenner and Bodega and Occidental and found this a perfect central location. Parking space accomodated 6 cars.
Owner response:The property will also accommodate comfortably much larger groups as well. 6 to 9 cars can park inside the front gates and another 4 cars can park on the street in front of the property.

I just wanted to tell you what a wonderful time my family and I had staying at Valley Lane. We were together to celebrate Christmas late since we could not all get together for the holiday, and your home was just perfect. I really could not have asked for anything better--every single member of my family really enjoyed the home and commented on how fortunate we were to have found a place that worked so well for our group. We found the kitchen well equipped and were so happy to be able to eat all our meals together at one table even though there were 13 of us. And the game room was popular with everyone. And, despite the storm outside, we all felt safe and warm inside and were very pleasantly surprised to find that while the power was out all around us, we didn't miss a beat because of the generator. I would confidently recommend your home to anyone looking for a gathering place and would rent again without hesitation. Sincerest thanks for allowing my family to come together in such a great location and for the lovely bottle of wine you left for us. Kristin stay: January 3-7th, 2008

We just loved the house. I went there to celebrate my 30th birthday with my husband and 4 other couples. The house was amazing, so beautiful and so much room. The kitchen was amazing, so much fun to cook and eat together. It was close to all of wine country and within 3 miles of a Redwood State Forest. It had a pool and hot tub and in the garage there was a game room. It was perfect for a large group, with 3 total kitchens and enough beds to sleep 28 people. Just know that some of those sleeping spaces include pull out couches and bunk beds/day beds. I would definitely love to stay again!
