Stayed here for 5 nights with my family. The location and the big deck alone were worth the cost of the stay. The place had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. There is some wear and tear in the place but everything was clean and worked quite fine. We have 2 young children (ages 5 & 2). I liked that there was no gate from the deck onto the beach walkway and that the deck was a little elevated. I could let the kids play out there and not worry about them running off when my back was turned. Spent a lot of time out there enjoying the sights and sounds of the beach. Would definitely repeat. The cost was about the same rate as nearby resorts but we had a full kitchen, washer/dryer and a BBQ on the deck. The owner was also easy to deal with.

This rental was the perfect place for our San Diego vacation. So many places within walking distance. Easy access to the freeways to get to points of interest North, South and East. The space was exactly what we expected from the description. Right on the Ocean Walkway. Deck was great for grilling, sunning, or people watching. Peter was very accommodating and flexible. We would definitely return.

Perfect Place

This place was perfect. The location was ideal: right on the beach, and within a short walk from all the local stores. Also, the place came fully equipped with everything you need: microwave, pots and pans, plates, towels, linens, etc. Also, the owner has set up a very smooth and easy system of checking in and out that really added to the enjoyment of the trip. I do not have a single complaint.

Great location right on the boardwalk just a block or two away from Belmont park. Nice, large patio with great views of the water. Everything was as described in the listing and Peter makes it sure you have a hassle free check in and check out. Would definately go back!

My family and I stayed here for Christmas 2011. The place has an excellent location on the beach with a large front deck with a BBQ that is a great outside space. We had perfect weather and really enjoyed the access to the beach out the front door and the cafes within walking distance. As the other reviews mentioned, we saw dolphins on several days and there is a decent surf break next to the jetty just to the south. We were able to see many of the San Diego highlights (zoo, Midway, college bowl game, LaJolla, Point Loma) with just a short drive after spending the mornings on the beach. Peter was very helpful in arranging our stay, prompt, and has an efficient, easy process to deal with the rental arrangements. This property is great for families or for a getaway with friends on the beach.

We stayed here for a week in October and though the weather was gray and chilly this time, we still had a great time. Well equipped kitchen was perfect and the bedrooms were perfect for our family of 5. Beach convenience was outstanding as was Belmont Park and the roller coaster. We would definitely stay here again when in the San Diego area.

unbeatable location and features for us

Pros: Really liked the deck, its really big, since it covers the whole front. It was perfect for us/our 19 months old daughter since the poles of the fence are spread narrowly apart from each other, so she can't slip through it. Has a washer/dryer, first thought its overkill, but then used it twice:) Garage big enough for SUV (at least my Audi Q7).Apt was very clean. Cons: Would have preferred a king size bed in the master bedroom with no food board, since I am 6"4. Fridge seemed to have problems, wasn't very cold. Told the owners, am sure they will fix it for the next visitor. Cleaning charge of 100something Dollar seems a bit excessive. I doubt you need more then 3 hours to clean the place and you should be able to find someone for 20$/hour. Overall very enjoyable experience, will definitely come back!

I am familiar with San Diego and the Mission Beach area, so when my long-distance boyfriend and I decided to spend some of our limited time together on a vacation in SD, I had pretty high standards. Peter's rental had everything we needed and expected. The house was cozy, the deck was huge, and the access to the beach, boardwalk, and surrounding area was perfect. We were blessed with perfect weather, and even enjoyed the power outage, since we were able to sit outside on the deck and grill under an almost full moon. Peter was great to work with during the entire process - he is prompt, responsive, and professional, and the security system on the house makes it very easy to check in and out. The pictures are accurate, and I would only keep in mind the following: it was the perfect size for two people, and it was would work really well for a couple and their children, but it could be a little cramped for two couples. Doable, just a little tight, but the deck is so big it might not matter. Did I mention it is right on the water? And that the sunsets, people watching and dolphin sightings were spectacular? Rent this place!

We couldn't have been happier with our recent stay at your condo! We had three solid days of sun and two cloudy days. Not bad! There was ample space and linens for our party of four adults and one child. If we were at the condo, we were on the deck people watching and enjoying adult beverages. Can't wait to return! Nice Place Weather did not cooperate

It rained every day. At least I was not stuck in a hotel room looking at a parking lot. I could watch the waves roll in from in the family area and kitchen. When the sun poked out for a few moments people quickly rushed out onto the boardwalk only to have the rain return in a hour. The place was clean, very functional, had a nice TV and DVD player. I did not have a car but did very well for myself. I never opened the garage. Cab fare was about $26 to and from the airport. I walked to Trader Joe's for grocery bought too much food and took a cab home $9. One evening I walked North along the boardwalk to "World Famous" the place had great atmosphere and seafood. One thing to note is that the street is one way going South. It made it a little tricky for cabs to find it. I found it easier to have the cabs drop me off at the boardwalk by the roller coaster.

Watched the dolphins play every morning

You can't get a better view than this - every morning we watched the sunrise (we have young kids) over the water while we drank our coffee... soon after we got a show featuring 5-10 dolphins playing in the surf not far from shore - really incredible. This location would be ideal for someone without a car - you are walking distance to the beach (obviously) - restaurants - shopping - even a roller coaster!

An excellent vacation

We stayed for a week with my husband and two kids. Our family stayed at a hotel down on Pacific Beach. Every evening we all gathered on the deck, had a barbecue and watched the sunset. We saw many dolphins from the deck. It was the most relaxing vacation. There are great breakfast places within walking distance. Walking the boardwalk every morning was a great way to start every day. Thank you Peter for your hospitality. We hope to come back next summer.

We recently spent 4 days at the condo and had a wonderful experience. Peter was prompt in answering all questions prior to our visit, and the location was perfect. We have small children and we were able to go back and forth from the beach as we pleased. It is also a wonderfu location if you are planning to go to SeaWorld as it is only minutes away. We LOVED the patio. It was perfect for small children, and also for adults. We are even making plans to return next year!

My husband & I had a wonderful time with out children & grandchildren. Peter was very helpful, answered all our questions. The property is clean & close to everything. We loved the deck where we spent most of our time watching the kids on the beach or people watching on the boardwalk. We decided to take a family trip to San Diego with our 2 kids who are 2 years old and 5 years old. We came across Peter's property and loved it right away. We wanted something that we could relax at while we weren't visiting the parks that are so close by or weren't at the beach. We were able to lay our little one down for a nap and relax on the huge deck and enjoy the ocean breeze and sounds. Having a full kitchen and a grill made our stay that much more relaxing because the kids could run around on the deck or inside and they didn't always have to be constrained to sitting at a restaurant....which is a big deal with little ones that are full of energy. The condo was extremely clean when we got there and we were able to use cleaning supplies and such to clean up after ourselves if/when we needed to. We felt very at home there! We have stayed at other places in Mission and haven't returned to them. We will definitely return to this property! It was so convenient for anything you wanted to do! It was the best family vacation spot yet!! Thank you Peter!!

Our family spent a wonderful 8 nights at the condo. We've stayed in Mission Beach before but the location of this condo, its cleanliness and wonderful deck can't be beat. Our 1 year old loved playing on the deck and people watching, while I was able to get out for a surf. Peter was very helpful and even made sure some items we left behind were returned to us. This property was ideal! The washer/dryer; internet; and big screen TV made our stay even more enjoyable. Morning coffee and evening wine on the front deck made the stay here prefect for me. The condo was in a prime location. It was so close to the theme park and obviously the shore too. The deck was huge and impressive. We saw dolphins a few times, which was a bonus. We had no problems whatsoever and would love to come back another year.

We really enjoyed our stay on the ocean front...we couldn't get the kids to do anything but play on the beach...no lines at SeaWorld, no drive to the Zoo....just boogie boarding on the beach! A dad's dream. Couldn't ask for a more relaxing vacation for the whole family.

I honestly can't think of any reason to stay anywhere else in San Diego. Peter's place is clean and beautiful. The deck facing the ocean is amazing and we spent many happy hours out there soaking up the sun. This was our second stay in this condo and if we return to San Diego, we'd love to stay there again. We really enjoyed staying in Peter's condo in San Diego and taking a break from Minnesota weather the week after Christmas! We were fortunate to have nice weather in the upper 60s and lower 70s. It was nice to have a garage for the car and since both the garage and the condo could be opened electronically, we had no keys to lose. The location is awesome! We loved people watching and hanging out on the deck. Great sightseeing - not far from major attractions. We can't wait to come back.

Staying at Peter's made our trip the best it could be! It is right on the beach, close to Sea World, Belmont Park(roller-coaster, wave house,games), and downtown San Diego is 15 minutes away. My daughter loved the bunk beds, my wife loved having a washer/dryer and a dishwasher in the unit, I loved parking in our own garage. I will stay here again for sure! Just stayed at this beach house. I live in Pacific Beach, but I wanted to rent a place on the beach for my family when they came in town to visit. The apartment is exactly as described. The deck outside is huge and the views are amazing. The area is perfect. The roller coaster area is only 2 blocks away, so everything is very convenient.

Peter was very accommodating to us and made our stay a pleasant one. The house was nicely kept, had everything we needed and the best part was waking up and having breakfast on the deck every morning while we watched pods of dolphins swim by and surfers crash in the waves! I brought my daughter and Two of her girlfriends (all age 14) and the Four of us had the greatest time. The girls passed up a day at Sea World just to keep hanging out at the place. Our stay at Peter's was wondeful! The deck and views are magnificant and the location was ideal. In close walking distance to shops,coffee and restaurants. Our two boys really enjoyed the close walk to the Belmont Park roller coaster too! We loved having our own living space to cook, relax and watch movies and of course having breakfast on the deck every morning. We will definitely stay here again when we come back to San Diego.

This is a beautiful condo with everything you need. The view is wonderful. Having a garage to park in was great - you never had to worry about finding a parking space. Peter was a friendly and helpful host. We will stay here the next time we are in San Diego!

Thanks Peter, we enjoyed our stay. The location was wonderful, the accommodations were as described, the place was clean, and the spectacular views were never taken for granted. It was a nice bonus having a small garage to park the car in as well. The sports bar around the corner had great fish tacos and next to that was another shop where we were able to rent/buy items for the boardwalk (skateboards, surfboards, etc). Definitely would stay here again.

Where can I start!! What a great vacation, waking up and having my coffee on the deck, watching my husband and daughter right in front of the condo play in the water while my one year old son took a nap in the clean, well kept condo. We took the kids toys and spend 75% of our time on the deck. Grilled at night and made the friendly neighbors jealous.. We had a wonderful vacation at Peter's place! His condo is better than described - very clean, comfortable and has everything that you need for your stay! We also have an Expedition and it very well in the garage. The location is the best - right across from the beach...perfect for my surfer husband and our two active young children who love playing on the beach! Plenty of activity from the Boardwalk, but not right in the thick of things. It's also very close to Sea World, Old Town and the Zoo. This is our second time renting this unit. OUTSTANDING VACATION RENTAL! Peter is a great host. Everything is shiny, clean and like new! Can't beat the HUGE private deck (Hello Slo-Mo). It's 15 feet to the the beach. Great private garage (with remote control). The location is close to anything you'll need. We visit Mission Beach annually, and this is where we stay. This is a fantastic condo. You can't get closer to the beach than this! The deck is enourmous and the view can't be beat. We have stayed twice and it's been wonderful both times. Very convenient with kids. Peter is terrific.
