We stayed 4 nights at MyHouse at the end of April. It was clean, well appointed, and very interesting. We have had good luck with VRBO rentals; haven't had a bad experience yet after about 15 or so, and this was no exception. Ann was also very helpful with advice on places to go and eat and drink. MyHouse was equipped better than average with all the utensils, glasses, plates, bowls, etc. we needed, and I even found an unopened can of peanuts to satisfy my late night cravings. The decorating was whimsical and artsy; we kept finding new little things we hadn't seen yet the entire time we were there. We really liked the open patio (portal?) in the front and the very private and sheltered back yard patio. We didn't use any of the fireplaces because it was so nice when were there, but surely would have appreciated them had it been chillier. The view of Arroyo Hondo was spectacular (although you have to walk across the street to really see down into it), and we much prefer staying in a place like this to being in town. This was a great base for the places we wanted to see, which included the trail up to Wheeler Peak from the ski area, Red River and surrounding areas, and the Wild Rivers recreation area on the Rio Grande. We didn't hike up towards Wheeler Peak because there was still too much snow, but took a very nice hike down into the Rio Grande gorge at Wild Rivers.

My boyfriend and I stayed at this property with our two dogs and had a wonderful time. The house is adorable, has a well-stocked kitchen, and beautiful views. Are dogs loved the huge fenced yard to run around in. We highly, HIGHLY recommend this place to folks.

I just returned home from beautiful Taos and had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful property for six nights. This home is warm and inviting (ex. great wood-burning stove) and my golden made good use of the enormous yard. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, cookware, etc. and if you forgot something the owner likely has it stocked there for you (spices, soap, etc.). The location is great - about ten minutes south to town or ten minutes east to the base of the ski valley.

Just got home to Oklahoma after staying 4 nights, my husband Max and I and our two little schnauzers Sam and Lloyd, felt right at home when we arrived, this place has a cool feel the minute u walk in, all the pics r exactly what u get, Ann was sooo easy to work with, always answered any questions we had within 5 min via email. We loved the privacy, beautiful views of the canyon, and such an easy drive to Taos and the ski valley. Can't wait to go back this summer and hang in the front garden area. Have already recommended the property to several friends. Also you must eat at Orlando's New Mexican food! Ann was great about recommendations, and this is one not to be missed, thanks Ann for a great stay!

"Ann, We had a blast this past week and the house was excellent. Mike and I travel so much and stay in VRBO or Home Away properties all the time and this was definitely one of our best picks. The yard for the dogs was so easy, and we met our neighbors and spent time with them which was nice. We hiked everyday and enjoyed the trip so much we are thinking of coming back this summer to hike Wheeler Peak. Again, thank you so much the place was just amazing!"

We had a wonderful 2 week stay at your adobe home! It was perfect for our needs... quintessential New Mexico. You have created such warmth in your decor, it made us feel at home. Diverse library collection , great for those snowy days. The yard was absolutely perfect for our dog, she had free roam in a protected environment. Location was great...paved roads a plus and very easy access to TSV and town. We will be looking forward to our next stay in your adobe!

"I can't wait to visit... Although I have not yet been there, I have been so impressed with your communication and willingness to work with me. Customer service usually reflects quality of product, and you are right up there at the top! :)" From owner: she's reserved for May, but the vrbo calendar wouldn't let me select that date!

What a wonderful treat! Ann's place is absolutely the colorful and comfortable home base that is shown in the pictures - better, in fact. First off, it's HUGE! The amount of space is just wonderful, and in the summer, it doubles with the ability to use the garden area and the area on the portal (porch) outside. Secondly, it is beautiful, with all the wonderful art (including Ann's own), a huge selection of books, and the fantastic, quirky pieces that let you know you're in Taos. It was quite cold in Taos while I was there, and it became a ritual in the morning to get up, get the coffee going and then work on the fire. Even without the fire going, the casita was warm and inviting - with the fire, it was wonderfully toasty. This chance to incorporate a simpler routine into my morning honestly helped me get a bit re-grounded, exactly what I needed. The casita is a little bit outside Taos, which means really clear skies at night and a 10 minute drive into town. Taos itself is, of course, a wonderful, art-filled place and a delight to visit. I can't wait to get back!!

One of the high-lights in staying in Taos,NM is being able to stay for a long week-end in this casita (small house). It's just far enough outside of Taos to have the views and serenity, but close enough to have access to the wonderful restaurants and galleries that Taos offers. Her artistic eye is evident throughout the casita. The old adobe walls lend a beautiful back-drop to her art and furnishings. Her attention to detail and style left nothing un-done. Our Great Dane, "The Sheriff" had a grand time galloping around her fenced property, while we lazily sipped our wine underneath the portal (porch). Truly a gem. Looking so forward for our next stay.

We arrived on a cold winter's night, opened the door to a bright, colourful room and felt the house settle around us like a warm, comfortable blanket. During our ten-day stay, we enjoyed the character of an old adobe, along with the conveniences of a modernized home. The addition of art, comfortable furniture and the coziness of radiant floors and crackling fires made the package complete. During the day, when we weren't exploring the many attractions of the Taos area, we watched a wealth of bird life visit the feeder in front of the picture window and through the same window, saw the weather systems move in and out, covering the landscape with snow one day and taking it away the next. It was beautiful.

Thank you Ann, for making such a welcoming and comfortable home available to us travelers! And thank you for allowing dogs! I stayed at the casita for 3 nights -- and loved it. It was exactly as described; clean, beautiful, comfortable, and with great views. My dog loved walking the road and the big yard. I loved the picture window. The house is quiet and in the country -- but without the feeling of isolation you get in some parts of New Mexico. There's lots to do nearby, hiking, restaurants, cafes, art, etc. The skies at night -- wow. Dark and lovely, I saw the milky way which is not possible in Albuquerque. Ann was the perfect host, called to see if I needed anything and that was it. There aren't a lot of crazy rules, just a home that has been treated with so much love you want to treat it as your home too. I will go back!

Thanks to the owner, for sharing her artistry with us! Fell madly in love with Taos and this house. I will cherish the memories of this magical place. What loving care was taken in the renovation and decor of this lovely home in its spectacular setting; eye candy everywhere. The photos don't do it justice. We especially appreciated the radiant heat (warm floors!) during our winter visit. Jazz the dog loved the huge fenced yard. Hubby loved the wifi. I was selfishly tempted not to post a great review---don't want to compete for a booking! Would like to return once a year to renew creative energy!

If you're looking for a relaxing weekend in Taos this is a wonderful place to stay. This place felt more like a home than a hotel. The owner is very sweet and accommodating. If you're bringing pets there are 2 large fenced in yards for them to play in.

Owner response: Well, one yard for each of our rentals unless you make friends with the other guests, in which case there are two!

We had a wonderful stay in June 2009 at MyHouse! It felt like we were guests at a friend's fully furnished house rather than at a sterile hotel. That experience is exactly why we use VRBO. Ann was available by phone if we needed to ask her a question but other than that we had the place to ourselves and really enjoyed the privacy. The dog-friendly house and fenced yards made it easy to bring our two medium-sized dogs on this trip. I would recommend this clean, well-kept residence to anyone that wanted to stay in the Taos area for a vacation. When we come back we will be staying here again. There is no need for us to improve upon our experience by staying anywhere else.

We loved this property-So much so we are coming back in 3 weeks! We were greeted by fresh flowers when we opened the door on this Traditional Taos House Jewel. If you want to stay in an authentic Taos House to capture the Magic of Taos, then this is the place. The Sunsets viewed from the large living room window were magical enough for a lifetime. The residence is extremely quiet. You can't hear a thing from inside these thick adobe walls, making sleeping so easy. Well furnished and lovely decorated with some of the artist's own paintings. The bathroom is awesome! Step out of the stone shower on the heated floor adds an ahhh factor to any shower. All amenities, Great TV and wifi ready. Views of mountains and the distant mesa from every window. Very private too. Although there is another guest casita that is attached there is an enclosed breezeway that separates the two properties and each points in different directions with different driveways off of different streets, so each one very private. We stayed in the winter and it was cozy! A small fire in the wood stove easily took the chill out of coldest of evenings. Easy drive up to Taos Ski Valley as it is located very near to the entrance of the 8 mile canyon that leads up to the best skiing in North America. Suspect the summers would be even more inspirational as the grounds green up and bloom forth.
