As advertised, good location, good people to deal with and no major negative surprises. Would have been a solid 5-star if BBQ had been clean and filled with gas, shower curtain around tub/shower a little less precarious (would be better with handle to support getting in and out), tub drain been quicker and kitchen stocked a little better. All in all, a pleasant stay and well suited to our needs.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway, tourists without a car, families with young children, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you so much for your helpful hints. We have added a shower bar as suggested. We are terribly sorry the BBQ hadn't been left as it should, it was an oversight that our housekeeper sends her apologies for. We hope this never happens again and we were very pleased you found the extra gas tank on site. On a positive note, we have replaced all of the pots and pans with a new complete set of Langostine Stainless Steel and will continue to provide kitchen basics such as coffee, tea, salt, pepper, olive oil, balsamic vinegar and a few basic spices. So glad you found everything else as it should be, clean and comfortable.

and nice top notch customer service" My family and 2 young children stayed at the Trout Lake apartment for about a month and a half. The location is a nice neighborhood very central to shopping and parks and downtown is just a few minutes away. The apartment is tastefully furnished and well equipped and very clean with a beautiful garden and view of the mountains. The staff was responsive and helpful. The stay was part of an international move for us and it really made a difference for the children and our whole family to stay in a place that felt like home. The only thing I didn't like was leaving - felt more sad about leaving the apartment than our last house in Chile!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Our group of four stayed on the upper level of this house (The Trout Lake Apartment) and we loved it. The place itself was very well-kept and we were amazed by the location - Trout Lake Park is beautiful! Also, it didn't hurt to have the mountains constantly looming in the background. We would definitely recommend this place strongly to anyone travelling to Vancouver.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

The Trout Lake apartment was gorgeous, spacious, well maintained, a beautiful view of the park with the backdrop of the mountains, with everything you needed close by. I could walk 10 minutes to the skytrain, grocery store, and the Commercial Drive strip which has everything you need. If I were to visit Vancouver again, this is where I would want to stay!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

A group of us visiting Vancouver rented the Trout Lake Apartment which is really the top floor of a large bungalow just outside of the downtown core. It is a large nicely renovated space with easy free parking. There were restaurants and grocery shopping within a five minute drive and the property was clean and well maintained inside and out. We would definately stay there again on a return trip to Vancouver.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers.

"Home from home" Janet and Cecilia who arranged the let couldn't have been more helpful and considerate. And the house was lovely, equipped with everything you might need and very comfortable. It was situated just across from the park at Trout Lake. You can even bathe in the Lake if that's what takes your fancy and there's a great Farmers' Market there on a Saturday morning. We were a short trip by Skytrain from the centre of Vancouver which I liked as, wonderful though the city is, it was good to escape to a quieter location in the evening. The only downside? It was a bit of a walk - maybe 15/20 minutes to the nearest supermarket- but you just have to organise yourself a bit. Walk just a little bit further and there's a fabulous array of foodstores in Commercial Drive. Highly recommended. As to Vancouver itself, don't bother with a map. Just ask directions and you will invariably be escorted there! Wonderfully hospitable people.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

"Great Home in Leafy Vancouver Neighbrouhood. My friends and I stayed in the Trout Lake apartment for the 6 months to March 2009. The apartment came as a fully formed home, with everything we needed already right there. The kitchen contained all the necessary appliances and utensils and the bedrooms contained ample storage space and incredibly comfortable beds. Moreover, any problems or concerns we had were dealt with swiftly, and our request for a faster internet connection was met without any additional charge. The view of the North Shore mountains from the back of the house is truly epic. The apartment is located in a quiet, leafy suburb of Vancouver and is literally a stone's throw from John Hendry Park and Trout Lake. Right around the corner is a coffee shop and a community centre with gym and ice rink, and the hustle and bustle of Commercial Drive, with its array of transit links, is within easy walking distance. All in all, highly recommended for anyone planning an extended stay in Vancouver."Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

"Great furnished place! We used the Trout Lake apartment as our "home" for the first 2 months after moving to Vancouver. Perfectly located near Trout Lake, Commercial Drive and the Skytrain. Accomodations were beautiful, well-kept and reasonably priced. Highly recommended!"Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

"The location of the Garden apartment was perfect! 10 minutes walk to both broadway and nanaimo sky-train stations, accessing both train line routes, meant getting anywhere in the city simple! The apartment had everything! From every kitchen appliance and utensil imaginable, to towels, sheets and spare blankets. We arrived with little more than our bags and had to buy nothing. Everything was included in the price, with internet, phone, hydro, refuse, and a full monthly mandatory clean, it was great value for our group. The big sunny garden was impeccably maintained, and with Trout Lake park a minute away, the apt was perfect."Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0
