Wonderful Stay in a Beautiful House

My husband and I celebrated our one year anniversary in Costa Rica (calling it our Honeymoon) and had a great time staying at Casa Cielo. The home was just as depicted- very clean, well maintained and had everything we needed for the week. The washer and dryer came in handy too! We especially enjoyed the use of two bikes, which we used daily to bike into town or to the beach. Pavones is a great little town, and everyone there, from the local "Ticos" to the American expats, were friendly, fun and welcoming. There is lots to do in the area, and Casa Cielo was the perfect home base. Carolina and her husband Les were able to help us out with what to do and where to go once we were there, and we appreciated having the caretaker Miguel on the premises. BIG THANKS to home owner Paul, who went out of his way to answer our questions before we left to ensure that we knew everything we needed and that we would have a great stay. We arrived on Christmas Day and Paul and Carolina ensured that we knew where we were going and that we were able to get food and dinner on the holiday evening. We would stay at Casa Cielo again in a heartbeat!

Great Beach Get-Away!

Casa- Cielo was a great find! We rode bikes from Zancudo, a neighboring town, arrived hot and tired but were quickly greated by Carolina and Miguel. They took care of our every need! We could hear the surf from below and the howler monkeys from above. The Scarlet Macaws were amazing and the grounds and gardens were exceptional. After a month with no AC, we certainly enjoyed that as well. Great restaurants and great opportunities to explore. The nearest restaurant, La Pina, became a favorite hang-out!

Wonderful place

We loved staying here at the end of the road at the bottom of Costa Rica. The house and grounds are beautiful. We really enjoyed being able to use the bikes. The road along the beach is a great place to ride them. There are a couple great places to eat in Pavonnes (Big Turkeys) and along the beach. We rode our bikes to El Banco, which is another interesting "surf town" that is even closer to the Panama border. There are two friendly looking police officers in Pavonnes who ride together on the same motorcycle. We enjoyed watching a local soccer game there. Try the Chilean red wine in the grocery store, its great. Any hard alcohol you may want to bring with you. There is a good grocery store or two in Pavonnes and we enjoyed making breakfast at the house. Being able to do laundry was great too since we had come by bus from Golfito and before that by ferry across the gulf from Drake Bay. Golfito has a lot of interesting architecture and the nearest hospital. There is a very well run (very small) airport in Golfito and it only costs about $100 to fly back to the international airport (SJO), which is much easier and faster than taking the bus. There is a caretaker on the grounds at Casa Cielo who was able to keep the bikes in good shape and provide security. Our host arranged for a cab ride to Zancudo on the way out which is another great place to stay. We would definitely stay here again. Beaches are very deserted.

Beautiful, beautiful place! Costa Rica is amazing, and the house was such an awesome place to stay in. It was wonderful hearing the waves crash against the beach every night. The jungle is beautiful - we can't wait to be back!

Wonderful!!!! I cannot say enough about this house; very relaxing comfortable and clean. The property is beautiful, spectacular setting of garden and jungle. Great place to stay, I definitely be back! Pavones is so much fun and amazing experience.

An absolute joy!!!! We highly recommend this beautiful house. The location is great, the house is very nice, modern, well keept, well equipped, extremely warm and safe. Pavones is a very unique and great place, full of extremely nice and cordial people from around the world.

The house is beautiful, it has everything we need and more, because to see the finest and newest movies at the plasma TV and with the surround sound was perfect!! See an entered monkey family just at the back of the house, parrots at the trees was terrific. The lonely beach just for me and my wife plus the stars at the sky at night complete our visit. I am sure I will be back to Casa Cielo as soon as I can.

What a great place this is! I've never seen anything like it before anywhere. The house is very cool, both inside and out, and the location is perfect. We love Pavones, and we will definitely stay here at the Sky House in the future.

Great place! Loved stargazing from inside the house. All the comforts of home in the middle of nowhere. Pavones truly is paradise. Saw toucans, macaws, howler and squirrel monkeys, iguanas, sloths, etc. Take the horseback ride into the rain forest to the waterfalls. Unforgettable!
