Great place to vacation on Emerald Isle

We just got back from renting this house. When we walked in we were pleansantly surprised at how cute everything was decorated. Really beachy. The house was the perfect size for our gang. We loved having the downstairs bedrooms so that my mother in law who doesn't do steps well could have a convient place to stay. The bedrooms were all really nice sized and the bedding was perfect. We could have used a couple more pillows but other then that they were clean and cute. The kitchen was really well stocked. It had more pans and gadgets then I do at my own house. We did have an issue with the kitchen light but called the owner who sent her handyman over that afternnoon and got it working for us. The shower outside was nice it had hot and cold water so we were able to wash the kids down outside before entering the house. We really enjoyed our vacation in this house and the owner was really good about answering all of our questions for us. It was really clean with the sofa looking like it was brand new. There was a washer and dryer there to use which was an added bonus. I want to come back to this house next year for our vacation. Would highly recommend.

Recommended for:Romantic getaway, sightseeing, tourists without a car, pet owners, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children.

Well, we just got our deposit back so now to tell the story behind this rental. After a 12 hour drive we arrived at this house around 10pm. When we walked in we were totally surprised!. very little cleaning had taken place from the previose guests. The beds had hairs all over them, one bed had what appeared to be small blood stains. The toilet would not hardly flush, The TV in the living room was the only one that worked.(Thank God for Netflix and laptops) The kitchen lights had short in the ballasts and we had to constantly adjust the bulbs to keep them on. The couch had stuffing coming out of the seat back. The deck had broken boards as well as numerouse cracks in the sheetrock. We immediatly called the owner. She sent the cleaners back out and they were really upset because "owner" would not supply them with the resources to clean the home like it should be. The sweeper wouldnt even work! Needless to say that "the owner" would not let us out of our contract so we could find an appropriate place for our 6 month old granddaughter....Well, we made the best that we could for the week (kept the baby out of the floors). but it was not a good experience. Linens were not provided like they were paid for the downstairs queen bed had a huge sag in it, the city had to repair the septic leak in the driveway. And to top it all we were a week longer getting our deposit back like we should have. From what we gathered from the cleaners was that the owners "friends" had stayed there before us and that they had the run of the place. Please take this notice for real......DO NOT STAY HERE UNLESS THEY DUMP SOME MONEY FOR THE REPAIRS!!!

Owner response:To respond to this lady.. Nothing pleased her. We called the maid right away and the maid went down there with her husband. The maid said that there was no hair on any of the beds it was the mattress pad had been washed and there were fuzz on them. She did say there was a little blood stain on one of them however, when she called to complain about them I had my maid go purchase and bring down there all new mattress pads even though I had just replaced them all in April like I do every year. she never called to tell me about the toilet but the next guest did and I had a plumber come in and install a brand new toilet. Also, when I found out about the couch being ripped in the back and the stuffing coming out we had a brand new couch brought in. There was one broken board on one of the benches that we found out about and our handyman went and replaced it. The cracks in the wall. Really? there are probably 5 cracks in different walls but this is due to the house settling and moving with the wind. All the homes down there get them. It doesn't do anything to the structure of the wall as the cracks are small. As far as my not supplying my cleaners with resources. In my contract with her her cleaning company supplies all the cleaning supplies including vaccuum cleaner although I have my vaccum there. The cleaning lady told me that the lady complained about everything and that even her husband told her she was never happy. She also told me that when she was there the baby was eating goldfish all over the floor. The linens provided were all brand new, had never been used before. WE have never had any complaints about our beds and a huge sag. The city did not repair the septic leak that was a company that had to come pump it out and we actually had to replace the septic and the field lines as soon as she left. We put in over $10,000 in repairs in the last month. We don't let our house go , if a renter has a complaint or finds something that needs to get fixed we fix it. So, in closing some people you can't please and she was one of them. I blacked balled her from my house and all of my friends oceanfront homes as well

We took our family along with our dog to this house for our family vacation. It was perfect! The house is decorated so cute and the color's were perfect. We were able to cook alot of meals at home because the kitchen had everything we needed. This was our favorite vacation. The kids were able to shower outside so not to bring the sand in the house. There were enough beds and bathrooms in the house for all of us. The house was clean and the view was unbelievalbe. We even got to see the dolphin a few times. We have never been to Emerald Isle but already booked this house for our next vacation. It was that much fun. The aquarium was really nice and highly recommended as well as this house.
