The Robins Nest is a cottage home surrounded by decks and a lovely flower garden and located in the heart of the Point Reyes National Seashore.

The Robins Nest was built as a hunting and fishing retreat in the 1920's when people came to the area by boat, train and stage coach. It is located in a residential area overlooking Tomales Bay in a sun belt. It is 3 miles from the Point Reyes National Seashore headquarters and the park trail system. It is 2 miles from the town of Point Reyes Station which is the regional center(although only has a population of 500) with restaurants, an excellent grocery store and various shops. The Point Reyes lighthouse is approximately 15 miles out to the coast and provides an excellent vantage point where the whales pass by twice a year .

Inverness Park and the Robins Nest are 38 miles north of the Golden Gate Bridge so it is readily accessible to San Francisco. Because it is located in the National Seashore and along the coast line, it is in a protected zone so the surroundings are rural even though so close to the urban attractions of the Bay Area.

The house has a living room, dining area, den(with a pull out couch), kitchen, bedroom and two baths. A second bedroom and bath are located in a separate smaller building behind the main house. The two buildings are totally surrounded by approximately 900 square feet of decking which allows for taking full advantage of the outdoors.

There is a sauna and one of the bathrooms in the main house has a steam bath, so getting the ache out after a long run or hike is no problem.

The house is well equipped with a gas grill, cable TV and VCR, sound system and comfortable furniture and art work reflecting the Latin American travels of the owners. The kitchen has necessary cooking equipment, a new self cleaning electric stove and basic cooking condiments.

The house is heated by a Vermont castings wood burning stove and there is plenty of fire wood. Electric heaters are available to supplement the wood stove while it heats up.
