I was bringing my son up for a visit with Coach Cosgrove and to watch some spring football practices. I initially looked for hotels as it was only going to be just me and him. But, decided to look at Homeaway just in case there was something nearby. I was in luck!! I found this quaint little cottage right on the waterfront. It had 2 bedrooms and all of the neccesity's of home.....plus now I could bring my daughter and husband too. The owners were very nice and went out of their way to make sure that we had a nice stay. I would highly recommend this cottage to anyone needing/wanting to stay in the Bangor area. If we venture up that way again, there is no doubt that this would be the place we would stay. Thank you Laurie and Tom, Sue

We had a great time on our ice fishing weekend. The cabin was so cute and had everything we needed. We caught 14 fish! The kids loved it!! The lake is literally right out the door to the cabin so it's very easy to run in to warm up and get some hot chocolate or lunch! :) We will definitely be back!

Over the past 20 years my friends and I have made Thanksgiving week in Maine a yearly tradition. When our camp was replaced by a wind farm, we found ourselves without a place to stay. After some research we found King Pine cottage hoping that we could carry on or start another tradition. We may have just accomplished that. Upon arrival the cottage was well prepared for our stay and we felt right at home. Pretty much everything that you need is there, and the commute to services is negligible for anything else you may need. We didn't have the opportunity to meet the owners, other than very briefly, but it was clear that they would have responded promptly if anything was needed. The cottage itself was very nice, as well as clean, and easily spacious enough for our group. The location is perfect right on the water, and out of the way enough without being remote. It must be a great place to stay in the summer...temps close to freezing cut down on the range of outdoor opportunities. All in all my friends and I would definitely recommend staying at King Pine Cottage. Mark Desrosiers

Stayed at this cabin several times. Our son plays football for the University of Maine and we travel up to the area for all home games. What a wonderful alternative to staying at a pricy hotel. Laurie is a wonderful lady and the cabin is perfect for all our needs. Will be staying here again next season. Loved it.

This was the most peaceful and relaxing vacation I have had in a long time! It took me a while to get used to the quiet, especially at night! It was so beautiful watching the full moon over the lake and listening to the loons. From relaxing by (and in!) the water to the concerts at Waterfront Park to lobster at McLaughlin's at the Marina to the day trip to Bar Harbor, there was no shortage of things to do. The cottage itself is great - it was clean and well-equipped with everything we needed including a hair dryer! My dog Holly loved it as well! I would recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a peaceful location yet convenient to all the area has to offer.

This was our second year at King Pine, and we were lucky enough to spend an extra 3 days there. Again, PERFECTION. We had our 10 and 13 year old nephews with us for the first few days and they were thrilled to be able to spend their days swimming, exploring and fishing from the dock. We spent our days happy to do nothing more than sit in the shade and read. We live in-town (Bangor), but King Pine feels like a world away. Everything we needed was on-site, no need to overpack things like soap and cooking provisions, and if we needed to purchase something, the shoppping centers are a brief, easy drive away. We can't recommend this spot enough, and your hosts are available but never intrusive. If you have canine family members, this is the place you need to rent as they will be as happy and comfortable as our two Saint Bernards have been. Next summer can't come soon enough for us!

My husband and I rented this very nice place and we want to thank Laurie for a great vacation. Loons, canoe rides, lobster @ 3.99 per # plus clams at the same price. Fireplace outside was very nice. Swimming was great, just a few steps to the water. The cabin was supplied with "everything you can think of" and even more. We are seniors and recommend it very highly for this age group but there is room for families too. Grilled on the gas grill 3 times. TV was appreciated too. We will recommend this to friends and family for sure. Thanks again!

Wonderful stay at Pushaw Lake. We were visited by several loon families and enjoyed relaxing by the lake. I loved hearing the water, even when we were inside the cottage. Laurie was wonderful and a great host. The cabin kitchen was stocked with more than we expected. It was great for the dogs who loved swimming. I was so grateful to have a rental that would allow me to have my two big dogs with me. The washer and dryer were so useful as well!! Thanks and we hope to come back again!!

Our group of 5 women from work stayed here to shop Bangor for a weekend while economizing on accommodations. This 'cottage' has a well stocked kitchen for all food preparation and really met our needs for comfort and convenience. It's situated close to shopping but in a totally peaceful country cottage environment. This combination makes it such a versatile accommodation, for instance, in a group where some want to chill and fish, canoe, explore or just rest, they can have what they want while others shop or visit attractions. Beds were comfortable and place was clean. Only met Laurie but she was great, very friendly. Only suggestion for improvement would be the bathroom door that needs a little adjustment to close easier.

If you're looking for a quiet, peaceful place for much needed rest and relaxation, look no further. This cottage, with all of the amenities of home, is close to Bangor yet you wouldn't know it. The cottage is clean with a great view of the lake and there's a great outside area to enjoy a fire and conversation.

We loved it. We wanted to get away and not just stay in a hotel room. This is just what we were looking for. The cottage was beautiful & clean. The view was amazing. We were able to have a BBQ & bonfire. It was a perfect getaway for the 2 days that we were there. I would definately recommend it. While we were still there my husband talked about coming back.

As written in our guest book at the cottage: "thank you for renting us your piece of paradise for our honeymoon. We absolutely love it here! The view is breathtaking any time of day. Thank you very much for being the only place we found where we could leave our "boys: while we were out on our adventures. It is so reassuring to be able to bring our canine family with us. We look forward to coming back."

The kids caught a seemingly endless amount of pickerel, and a few yellow perch. You could see the traps from the camp. Was a very warm and cozy cottage. Had a wonderful time. Was grateful that there was a TV, movies, and games; teenagers get bored easily. Great for families, and especially teenagers. There is everything you need in the camp. I could of used a larger frypan, but was glad that there was a large pot for lobster and the utensils to eat it also.

We loved it! We usually go on vacation to the tourist traps, but this year I decided to introduce my kids to fishing and my husband - to relaxed vacation. My mother enjoyed just reading on the porch and watching kids to fish or play in the water. The property is exactly as described, clean and private enough so we could feel comfortable and at the same time not isolated. Owners provided very good customer service, kitchen had all needed pots and pans and many utensils (I could use better frying pan, though, but the grill was there, so I grilled instead of frying, which is healthier!) Flyers to the local attractions and restaurants were also provided, we went to Bar Harbor a couple of times, long drive, but it was worth it. We also went to the mini-golf and the go-carts track in town, and kids had a lot of fun. For the last couple of days my family actually got the idea of relaxing vacation, and we stayed at the cottage, did some fishing, canoeing, played in the water, roasted marshmallows. This vacation might not be exciting enough for experienced and adventurous nature lovers, but it was just perfect for us! Would recommend it to some of my friends, especially to urban families with kids.

I stayed here from February 18-22. This was a great place. Tom and Laurie were very helpful and accomadating. The camp is in great shape and right on the water. I was able to watch my traps without leaving the camp. Everything was there that I needed for a great trip. I will return next year for sure!

Description was accurate regarding the location, layout and amenities and all that there was to offer. Property was excellent in the cleanliness department and well maintained except the little ramp that went on to the wharf that was not stable. Owner provided excellent customer service. Yes, I would certainly recommend it to anyone and hopefully we can go back again. We like all the activities, attractions and liked also the restaurants but actually cooked in most of the time. Can't think of anything that I disliked at all.

Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Owner response: We so appreciated the guests letting us know about the ramp feeling unstable. We have built a new ramp that is stronger and more secure.
