I spent many childhood summers on the Hood Canal, swimming in the wonderful warm water, picking up shells, finding starfish, and eating crabs caught fresh that day. I wanted to recreate this experience for my grandkids so we chose to stay at Seabrooke for our summer vacation. It was just wonderful. The owners were very accommodating, and welcoming. They made us feel right at home. The grand kids played on the beach and in the water until they were tanned and exhausted, ate clams, oysters, and crab for dinner, and then stayed up late playing video games on the huge TV screen. The videos weren’t part of my childhood Hood Canal memories, but all the rest was! The adults in the family enjoyed gathering in the kitchen (room for all!), having a cold one on the deck, grilling steaks on the BBQ grill, and taking in those beautiful colorful summer sunsets. At night we all had king beds, which were very comfortable, and the rooms were decorated very tastefully. In the morning we woke up to a beautiful view from right from bed across the canal to Twanoh state park. The home was very clean, and well appointed. We left with wonderful family memories. Thank you for making all this possible and we’d love to come back for another stay, and more great memories!Recommended for: Families with young children, pet owners, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We spent our summer vacation at this vacation rental in July of 2011 and had a wonderful time. The beach is a wonderful place for the kids to paddle around and play in the amazingly warm Hood Canal waters. We enjoyed the kayaks and brought our boat as well. We brought our crab pots, and the crabs were delicious, and we harvested a small fortune’s worth. Enjoyed eating them every night. We pulled the teenagers around on the tubes behind the boat, and had a great time in the water. The upper beach is made up of large and small round pebbles, perfect for the little ones. At low tide, the oysters and clams are abundant. The bonus cabin made a great hangout place for the teens. They enjoyed watching movies in their own get-away space. At night, we roasted marshmallows right at the beach in the large fire pit, and had a huge bonfire. The sunsets were gorgeous! The house was very spacious, and nicely furnished. Bathrooms had lots of towels, and were very clean. We’d love to come back next year!Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers.

What an awesome time we all had together at SeaBrooke. This house fit all our requirements, and then some! Lots of extras, and thoughtful touches, and VERY clean. It was wonderful to have room for everyone, especially in the kitchen, where everyone could have a hand in the meal prep or have a glass of wine and chat. There is every imaginable piece of equipment, from a powerful Kitchen Aid pro mixer, to a Cuisinart food processor, waffle irons, huge crab pot, baking equipment, lots of sharp knives, and plenty of dishes for everyone in our large group. And we LOVE to cook! There are so many cupboards in the kitchen; I don’t think we even discovered everything! In the evening, we enjoyed the many games and puzzles, and an old time movie on the huge TV screen. The comfortable leather furniture is fabulous for lounging on. The house also has WI-FI, for those in our group who just have to stay connected. All in all, very clean, comfortable, and we had a very good time. We would definitely consider another stay in the future, and recommend this vacation property to our friends and family. Thank you, SeaBrooke WE WILL BE BACK!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We came for a stay last April and had a WONDERFUL family time at this fabulous vacation home. The house is large and roomy, with comfortable seating for all. The kitchen and bathrooms are sparkling clean. The bedrooms are generously furnished with king size beds with comfortable mattresses. We all had a wonderful sleep after spending the day beachcombing, kayaking, and having a cold one on the deck, while taking in the fabulous view. The deck is comfortably furnished and outfitted with a huge BBQ. We enjoyed taking in the views across the water, and enjoying fresh oysters in the shell right off the grill. The home is well maintained, and outfitted with a huge kitchen full of appliances, dishes, and utensils. There were plenty of towels even for our large group. The home comes with a bonus beach cabin, right next to the water, and we enjoyed many hours relaxing and watching the kids play on the beach. In the evenings, we roasted marshmallows for smores at the beach fire pit. The owners generously provide a rowboat free of charge, and we rented the kayaks. What a blast. The kids (and adults!) spent hours paddling around exploring the local area. There is a lovely babbling stream behind the house, and the cool lush woods are fun to explore. This was our second trip to this lovely, fun, clean vacation home, and we will be coming back again for sure for another enjoyable stay.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, families with teenagers.

My family and I have stayed at SeaBrooke on numerous occasions, and needless to say, this is one of the only houses that we choose to stay in. The house is just so spacious, able to accomodate to everyone's desires. The huge kitchen is a cook's dream! Room enough to prep and cook with room to spare. The best part has to be the couches in the living room. Perfect for lounging around watching tv, or taking a lazy Saturday afternoon nap. We even bring OUR OWN Nintendo Wii console along, and the living room provides plenty of room for our family to enjoy a lively game of tennis or Just Dance on the Wii :)The views at night from the living room looking out to the canal are spectacular to say the least. The house is just so warm and comforting, a nice little home away from home. The house is always sparkling clean when we arrive, the sign that it is well taken care of by the owners. The owners themselves are accomodating to all of our needs. We have never had a problem staying here, and the owners have been nothing less than curteous and kind to us, which in turn makes us want to return even more. The cabana provides another little get away from the group, and gives us the ability to view the water up close. We have seen seals playing in the water from the cabana and the deck. All in all, our stays have always been memorable, and we look forward to many, many more.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We rented this house for mother's day weekend this past weekend (May 11-13, 2012. Some of us got there earlier and some came a bit later, but all of us put all day of work on Friday. First sign of bad customer service: the owner gave us the wrong house address (and a correct key code to the house), so naturally we went to the wrong house. We could have gone inside if renters of the house weren't there to let us know they were occupying it for the weekend. It would have been very awkward. When we got to the correct house, first thing we noticed was a structure on the property that needs to be demolished for the safety; broken and boarded up windows, rotten wood, etc. We ignore the structure and went into the actual house we rented. The furniture and the whole house was totally outdated, very strange layout, but we switched our mind to “roughing it” mode, not a luxury vacation rental house in any way. Some of us (a crawling baby to be exact) found a dead mouse on the floor. Insects came out of living room furniture and bit another. We called the owner and she came over. By the time, it was around 10pm. Since we took ferry over there AND spent money on the shellfish license AND we had so much food that needed a refrigeration, we thought we could spend a night in one of the rooms at deeply discounted price, refreeze all the blue ice we brought and leave as soon as the morning came. That way, we could spend all day Saturday in the beach. The owner simply refused to accommodate us with our counter-offer. She was asking us to pay for a night in full AND we should be thankful she let us stay for one night even though “the policy” says 2-night minimum. Ended up, she kicked us out in middle of a strange town, middle of the night. Her comment: “Let’s keep this less complicated by not having you here.” Other strange behaviors of the owner that you should look out are that the house can accommodate 12-14 people, but she will charge you extra if # goes over 10 people AND she will stop by and say “hi” to you during your visit. I should have known better to pack my tent and stayed in nearby state park. It would have been more sanitary. If this is a restaurant, Department of Health will shut it down, no question.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 5/6

This is one of our favorite places to meet up with the family! Super roomy, beach house, fun adventuring time for the kids right out the back door. Not to mention delicious oystering! The owners are very helpful and great to work with. We have stayed here plenty of times over the past few years! We'll be back!Recommended for: Families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, families with teenagers.

We stayed here this past May in 2011 for a weekend. The home hasn't been updated in probably 20 years and is in need of many repairs. The carpeting is old and beaten down, furniture is 'frat house' style and pretty work out, and the deck and the kitchen is very dated. The 'beach house' is akin to somewhere you'd stick a boarder who you don't want in your home and hasn't been cleaned in some time. It smelled pretty bad. On the upside, the views are great and the kitchen is well equipped. The oyster and clam digging is tops as well. If your expectations are low and you need a cheaper place to spend a weekend then this will be fine. If it's a big family vacation where you are expecting amenities and an updated home to stay in then go elsewhere. This is an old place and it's obvious the owners haven't spent much on repair and updating in a very very long time.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers.
