  We've stayed at this home on two occasions now and have created some great memories. It is a very comfortable home and is well equipped with everything that is needed for a relaxing getaway. The location is close to the lake and there are great views from several rooms and the deck. The house stays very warm in cold weather (both our visits have been during late fall). It is decorated nicely, has many amenities (several TVs, satellite, pool table). The fishing and hiking are within minutes and the town of Julian is just a short drive away. My highest compliments go to the owner, Ray. He is very friendly and makes your stay easy and worry free. He provides great instructions and you can tell he wants to make sure you have the best experience possible. We've stayed at a few other properties over the years and this one has been the best value. As a side note, the breakfast at the nearby restaurant on the lake is excellent, especially if you order from the Austrian selection of menu items.

  The house was roomy and we enjoyed looking at the lake from the deck. Julian and the surrounding area is quaint and quite interesting. There was plenty of info about the area provided in the house. Sadly, we were disappointed that some of the amenities listed were not functional: main level fireplace (looks to have been previously gas, and now used for wood) was not functional (note on doors said not to use); remote for main level TV did not work (had to use the one from the upstairs family room – making that TV unusable by others); TVs in the bedrooms were not equipped for cable or satellite – DVD only; gas grill was not functional (propane tank not connected – no info as to why); two meager pillows per bed (not sure what would have happened if we were using the pull out couch or air bed). Overall the property seems to be neglected (dusty, musty and bathrooms only superficially cleaned – probably by other renters). We had brought groceries for the weekend --- and couldn’t put the perishables in a cold refrigerator as the owner turned the fridge on once we got there and he showed up. The financial portion of this transaction was handled well and our cleaning deposit was refunded within two days. We would have felt that the price was reasonable IF the property was really as advertised. Overall, we had an enjoyable weekend, but this was not the property we expected.

  Recommended for: Sightseeing.

  Owner response: Most of the issues listed were a result of the guest's unfamiliarity with certain operations, and could have been resolved with a phone call to the owner. We strive to answer any questions or concerns to ensure your visit is most enjoyable.

  This rental was perfect for a romantic getaway. Great views of the lake and the house was very clean and accomodating! I will definately be back.

  We spent a full week at this awesome home overlooking the lake. The house itself is warm, inviting and comfortable with all the amenities that anyone would want or need! Sitting outside at night on the second story balcony was perfect for watching the sunsets and then looking at the stars. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful and we definately feel totally relaxed and renewed. We can't wait until next year when we repeat this wonderful vacation.

  We stayed four days and 3 nights at this lovely home. The house is beautiful, the lake was wonderful and we didn't want to leave. Everything we needed was there and the pool table in the family room was so much fun. The communication with the owner was outstanding. We will most definitely stay here again.

  Love Love Love this place and will definately be returning! From the reservation process and checking in to check out everything was perfect. The house was very clean, comfortable and spacious, and had all the ammentities you could possibly need. The atmosphere was very peaceful and outdoorsy with the lake walking distance from the house. Such a perfect place to relax and get away without any worries that the accomodations wouldn't suit yourr needs! Thanks Raymond!!!!! ~Laura O.

  It was a girls weekend for us Mom's. We could not have asked for a better location! The house is a block from the lake's trails, Fletcher Island, and just a quick drive to downtown Julian. The listing details are completely accurate and then some! We planned to cook most of the meals and you never know how the amenities of a rental will be. This place even had spices, oil, and coffee filters! The kitchen was completely stocked of everything you could ever need to make a homemade meal, bake, cocktails. The house has an abundance of clean sheets, towels, blankets, pillows. It is a new house, and the inside is completely furnished and comfortable! The upstairs is a great place to have the kids in the family hang out with the tv, fold out couch, and pool table. We spent most of our time on the wrap around deck, overlooking the lake from sunrise to sunset. The communication between us and the owner was fantastic. I commend them on their attention to details in regards to all matters of safety. The only thing I would suggest they have for their guests is a guest log for all to sign. We will be back with our families for the outdoor activities, and will be sure to recommend this to all of our outdoor enthusiasts & scrapbooking friends. We plan to make this a twice a year tradition. You have quite a gem here! Thank you for having such a wonderful spot on the lake. It was a very memorable time!
