Our vacation was awesome. The cabin is so tranquil and comfortable (and larger than it appears online). The place is gorgeous. What a beautiful spot! Saw a coyote in the yard our last day. We enjoyed Estes Park and RMNP, and can't wait to come back.

This is a wonderful, classic, rustic, cabin within walking distance of downtown Estes Park. The cabin is comfortable and clean with a great fireplace. Staying here takes you back to a simpler time. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Walked to town one night and went skiing at Eldora the next day, just an hour away. Would definitely recommend it and hope to stay here again.

I just wanted to tell you how much we LOVED your cabin. It truly was the best time we have ever had as a family. The Christmas decorations were beautiful, the décor was beautiful, the cabin was beautiful, and so on, and so on, and so on!!! The cabin was immaculate when we arrived and we appreciate how you supplied ABSOLUTELY everything a person could possibly want or need. My girls and I had a great time scrapbooking on the front porch. Whispering Pines is a magical place and we hope to visit again soon!

I stayed here while taking an art class in town. This cabin is absolutely amazing...a step back in time, but with modern amenities. It is just as described. I saw a bear walking up the hill. Loved sleeping with the windows open and enjoying the breeze. I ate all my meals here and found the kitchen well equipped. I rate this a 5 star!

We enjoyed every minute, every nook and cranny, and even the whole of the grounds, where all three big men played horseshoes as the little one watched in delighted fascination, at a distance. We did use the gas grill one night. Otherwise, we cooked inside, making wonderful dinners for ourselves, all of us, men and women alike, sharing the kitchen work and enjoying each other's cooking. We sure made good use of the kitchen, as we did of the whole house, which never felt crowded, even with the 8 of us, age 2 to 73. And how comfortably we slept -- two couples in the official bedrooms, those with the two-year-old of course taking advantage of the sleeping porch. Another pair slept in the maid's quarters; despite his 6'2" they were very comfortable and glad to be out of the hubbub. And I slept just where I'd wanted to, in the sleeping porch off the living room, a window open to the scent of pine and the sounds of birds and insects. Otherwise, we weren't around much, since we hiked most of everyday. On Thursday, however, little Ian, Mama, and Gramma went to the farmer's market, to provision ourselves with the local fruits, vegetables, eggs, jelly, even frozen beef. Our whole week, the whole experience, just couldn't have been more glorious. Your lovely cabin was the perfect place to gather, sleep, and eat at the end of every day. Thank you very much for the care you and your staff have obviously given it. I'll certainly recommend it to anyone planning to head your way.

We loved our stay here. The cabin has the appearance of being perfectly preserved since the 30s, yet has such modern necessities as copious hot water, plenty of electrical outlets, dishwasher, etc. The owners have stocked the place with practically everything you could need, from towels to toiletries to bedding; the kitchen, while not big, is very well equipped as well. The bedrooms are small, as you would expect in an old house, but comfortable. My kids loved sleeping on the back porch and waking up to the view of the hillside every morning, and we loved the mountain view and the sound of the river from the enclosed front porch. We had 8 people (two families) and there was plenty of space (though one of the four bedrooms is accessed by a separate outside entrance, which might be challenging with very young children). Location is very convenient to both town and the park, though I would not quite call it walkable to town (I did it in 20 minutes, but would not try it with children along a busy road with no shoulder or sidewalk). I would definitely recommend the cabin; my kids were trying to extract a promise from me to stay here on our next vacation.

Our stay in your cabin was great! The cheery, roomy, well stocked kitchen was fun four our family "chefs". We so enjoyed the park and the pretty little town, but always looked forward to returning to the cozy cabin. The fireplace is beautiful and was a huge draw! The plentiful wildlife was a big bonus. Thanks for everything.

My family stayed at this cabin in late March 2011 and had a wonderful time. It is located very close to town, but in a very quiet area. You will not see or hear any neighbors. The cabin itself was very large and on a big piece of wooded property. It was so perfect in every way. It basically has 5 bedrooms if you close the doors to the enclosed sunroom and use the completely seperate maid's room. The entrance to Rocky Mtn Park is only maybe 2 miles away. This cabin is so much better than staying at a condo because it has character AND all the modern conveniences. If you want a cool, large house rather than a cookie cutter condo, stay here! We can't wait to go back.

Fabulous home - warm and welcoming with lots of nice touches We stayed at the cabin in February 2011 with another couple. The pictures simply do not convey how warm and cozy the cabin is. We loved the huge table and played games every day there. The kitchen was so well stocked with everything we needed that we went shopping our first day and never ate a meal "out". The gas heaters kept the cabin nice and warm, but one night we did start a fire in the large fireplace - it was so romantic. Each morning we would read and drink coffee in the sun room and watch the sun light up the mountain vista. The heated tile floor in the bathroom was a nice touch on a cold morning. The cabin could have easily accomodated another couple and a few children - there's plenty of space. It should be noted, however, that while there are multiple bathrooms, there is only one shower. We look forward to our next trip to Estes Park and staying the cabin again.

In the company of the deer who wandered by, looking at us through the windows, the scent of the pines & the ever present rushing of the river, my family had a warm, home-like Thanksgiving in this fabulous old house. Thank you for this gracious hospitality.

A wonderful, delightful getaway. We saw a bull elk take a two hour snooze in the side yard on Day 1. We even saw a bear outside of town. Our family loved spending time in the sunroom reading and chatting. We also loved the heated bathrooom floor.

Spectacular... it is difficult to even explain how comfortable, warm, welcoming and enjoyable the cabin and our stay there was. The appointments are delightful and pleasing in so many ways, the kitchen was a delight to work in with numerous people, and that’s a trick in any kitchen! We loved the sun porch and spent a lot of quality time together there talking, sharing and enjoying the scenery. It was a sweet respite from the day to day, and stressful, concerns of our mundane lives, and we felt very connected to the space and the tenor of the cabin by the river!

More than I dreamed it would be! Everything about this cabin in the woods is amazing. When we opened the front doors the room took our breath away. A warm, inviting dining room that leads you to the huge rock fireplace cuddled by beautiful lodge furniture and a twinkling pine tree made us feel right at home. A gas wood stove was blazing in the dining room when we arrived. The front room is surrounded all three sides by windows to the creek, surrounded by trees. The back room gave us private views of the woods. The kitchen is large for a cabin, is cheery and authentic. There is a horse stable with a corral too! There were horseshoe games, cards and a great poker chip set that we also enjoyed. You can walk to town, the creek or just grill up you dinner, sit outside and enjoy a glass of wine and listen to the sounds of the forest. Beyond our expectations! · By Heidi from Littleton Colorado

The cabin was a perfect place to have a Thanksgiving gathering of friends and family. The cabin has rustic charm that was just perfect for an autumn get away. The sleeping porch was a bit awkward to get to because you had to pass through another bedroom, but the character of the place made up for it. The cabin was very well equipped. The cabin feels like you are out in the country, but it is very convenient to town and the National Park.

"Peaceful" We spent a week in your lovely cabin in August. We loved being so close to RMNP and took a few day trips into the park to take pictures of wildlife. We also enjoyed the proximity of the cabin to town, made quick trips to the store very easy. We weren't fortunate enough to get a glimpse of the bear that your previous guests commented on, but did see fresh tracks several mornings, so he was there, just hiding! A special thanks for having such a stocked kitchen - we had many memorable meals during our stay.

We spent our family vacation in this wonderful cabin July 5-8. It provided everything we needed. The location was great and we walked to town several times. The wildlife was so amazing. We see an occasional deer at home but having Elk in your front yard in the mornings was so much fun. We celebrated a milestone birthday and to our surprise we had a birthday cake waiting for us! How much more at home can a family be. It truly was a memorable few days, ones we will never forget.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this cabin. We saw so many elk walking in front of the cabin and even a bear! The cabin is more like a house and we loved the huge stone fireplace. The beds were very comfortable and with five people, we had plenty of room to spread out. The kitchen is large and well stocked. We also enjoyed eating with the french doors open and only the screen door latched. In the afternoon it was nice to drink a cup of coffee, relaxing in the cushioned rocking chair in the "sun room", looking out at the mountains, and hearing the Big Thompson river across the road. The location was perfect, set back in the woods a little ways from the road but within walking distance of go-carts for the kids and all the shops in Estes Park.

"Magical & Historic cabin" What an amazing time we had! We were chatting around the back porch and two female elk with their spotted babies passed just several feet from us on their way to the river. Later we saw a red fox looking for fun & supper. This was a wonderful gathering place for our family to reminisce about days long gone and to create new memories. The historic feel to this place brings you back in time. A very magical place to spend time with family and friends!

We spent three days/nights around the Thanksgiving holiday. This cabin was PERFECT. It had the most cozy, historic ambiance. The decorating was amazing. The attention to detail in every room was so special. We had five adults and two children in our party and it was plenty of room. I was also amazed at how well-stocked this cabin was. We cooked an entire HUGE Thanksgiving dinner and the only utensil we brought was the electric knife. There was plenty of baking dishes, serving bowls/platters, silverware, glasses, measuring cups - you name it, this cabin had it. There were also plenty of extra blankets, pillows, towels, wash cloths...We didn't want for anything. I loved the porch off the dining/family room. It was perfect for the kids to play with their toys they brought with them and not have them out where all the adults were. I also loved it for cuddling-up and reading my book and books to the kids. The sleeping porch was wonderful too. We brought our porta-crib and my husband, the two kids and myself were cozy and very comfortable. I think the antique, historical, charm of this cabin made it everything we dreamed in a special Thanksgiving. Even the glass in the windows is old! But all of it is quality, classy, and well-maintained. The "old charm" does not sacrifice quality. It was also very clean. It was such a wonderful experience for our family. Our boys are five and two and they were in HEAVEN. They slept wonderfully, played like angels, and loved cuddling every day and night. We loved it so much, we didn't want to even venture into town. We all just spent time playing games, reading, napping, and enjoying Thanksgiving dinner and the leftovers! It was relaxing and rejuvenating. We would love to come here again for any other occasion. It's something none of us will ever forget. The owners do an exceptional job preparing and maintaining for guests. Many thanks for the use of their cabin.

We met up with two other families to stay here. There was plenty of room for sleeping and playing. The kids loved the river across the road. They spent much time there. The kitchen is large and well stocked for cooking. Enough room for us all to eat at the same table. Everyone loved the large fireplace. Perfect for making s'mores! Estes Park is a wonderful town. There's mini-golf, bumper boats and the rainbow slide (fun for adults too!) A cute downtown and beautiful views all around! It was fun and relaxing! Can't wait to come back! ·
