Great vacation. The home is beautiful. It is just like advertised. It has been recently remodeled and updated. The rooms are clean and well appointed. The beds are very comfortable. Each room has a dresser and end table. One room has a queen and the other has 2 twins. The kitchen has everything you need to cook any meal. A few spices, not many which is understandable. The kitchen was very clean and easy to work in. No dishwasher but that's ok. Granite countertops and smooth-top range. Never saw a bug in the 5 days we stayed. A few flies but we let them in. The view is beautiful. You can see the ocean from the kitchen or sitting area and the larger bedroom. It is amazing. Walk a step out the back door and the ocean is right there. You can hear the crashing waves with the window slightly open. Very peaceful. Unfortunately you can also hear the rooster early in the morning. We saw many on the island so it must be a common thing. You get use to it in a couple days. The PCC is literally across the street. Great place to see the culture, eat Polynesian luau and see an evening show. The north shore had lots of places to surf, swim and snorkel. We went on the beach in front of the house and it was ok. The tide was up so not much sand during the day. You have to go thru a gate and down about 12 steps to get to the beach. Its not tough. Our 86 yr old mom made it fine. If the tide is up then its mote difficult to see the big rocks at the bottom. There was a seal that came up one day. The water is pretty calm but also shallow unless you go over the reef. Martha is so nice. She helped us with anything we needed. She had lots of ideas for us. We didn't get to meet Keld so maybe next time. Mahalo Martha. The BBQ is a weber style not gas so you have to buy charcoal if you want to cook outside. They sell it at foodland up the street so no big deal. The movie theatre was showing the Avenvers movie on opening day so that was cool especially since it was raining during the day. We would recommend staying here. The blue house is great for 3-4 people. It took about 45 minutes to get here from the airport. Beautiful drive along the ocean and really easy to find. We felt very safe as 3 women staying in the area. Victoria was very helpful in booking the home. Everything she said was true. We were refunded the security deposit in a couple days. Glad we choose this home after reading reviews for days trying to find the perfect spot. Mahalo

We just returned home from a truly amazing week and made memories of a lifetime. We chose this home, in part, due to all of the great ratings of previous guests and we were not disappointed! Victoria contacted me immediately after I inquired about the rental and you could just hear the pride she had in her home. She had great follow-up and provided us with a lot of information. Martha, the property manager, greeted us our first night with such a warm Hawaiian welcome - we felt as though we knew her for years! The listing was just as we had anticipated, however, I don't think pictures could ever do the view justice. I was simply amazing. We loved the location - we never had more than a 45-60 minute drive to some of the attractions we wanted to see - but we were always so glad to get back in the afternoon and evening. It was so quiet and serene and relaxing! I loved sitting on the bench and just soaking up the wind, the ocean, and the view of the mountains. As the previous guest mentioned, we too laughed at the rooster. It was at times annoying but didn't really bother us overall. It actually reminded us that we were away from the hustle and bustle of Honolulu. I am so glad that we found this little piece of paradise - I would definitely recommend!

We couldn't have asked for a more relaxing vacation.The place was very clean.and has all the basic stuff you need .Martha was wonderful,the Polynesian culture center was Amazing! Best part all you have to do is walk across the street the show is wonderful.The beach was great to snorkel in...saw some great fish.even had one in the party who doesn't swim or snorkel but she felt comfortable to attempt to snorkel in the bathtub beach...she did pretty good too. The only negative thing is there is a rooster who crows at 4:00 a.m but you get used to it and joke that he wants everyone up to see the beautiful sunrise ! My family really enjoyed our stay. The house was central to the attractions we wanted to visit (North Shore, Turtle Bay, Kualoa ranch, Pearl Harbor, etc. No more than an hour drive to any thing. What we really loved about our stay was the quiet at the house. Every night we slept with the window open and listened to the waves against the beach. No traffic noises at all. It was just the right blend of quiet and convenient. Thanks!

Loved our stay and enjoyed walking the beach each morning. Would recommend this place to anyone wanting a private beach, convenient tourist attractions, and a warm and friendly environment. We loved the bathtub beach and taking our little one. Safe, warm and beautiful clear water. Our bedroom faced the ocean and the beautiful sunrise greeted us each day. At night we could go to sleep with the sound of the waves out front. The newly remodeled kitchen and bath were awesome. The house was spotless. We especially like the kindness of the owner and the warmth of the property managers. We hope to return again. It was a long flight from the east coast, but well worth it.

The house is spotless, welcoming and comfortably appointed in all the rooms. The kitchen and bath are great and are stocked with some basic supplies to start you out. In both the bedrooms the beds are comfortable and cozy, nice to fall into at the end of a long active day. There are plenty of towels and beach mats, boogie boards and water toys are all there for your use. Your lovely host Martha is handy and stops by to see if you have any questions or needs, but is not intrusive. It's great to have a knowledgable local so handy. Farm stands and beach parks are not far down the road and many conveniences and attractions are nearby but the set-up of the houses makes you feel removed from the activity around you. A quiet cup of tea and some farm fresh pineapple on the lanai watching the sunrise over the ocean or an evening barbeque with the same view is priceless. The beach is quiet and beautiful with only a handful of homes having access because of the geography, it also has a natural break water to create a calm swimming area in the afternoons. If I am lucky enough to go back to Oahu, I’ll certainly come back here.

Just stayed for a week and it seemed like it wasnt enough. It is away from all the hustle n bustle of the city life. Beautiful beach and views. Couldn't have asked for a better place to stay on the island at all!!!

We enjoyed our stay at the home. Our sleeping situation was a little tricky, but we made it work. Because it was our first time there, it is hard to compare it to any other place. It was nice being able to go right out the back door and enjoy the ocean. I was surprised at how windy it was though. Martha was very friendly and helpful. It was also great for when we went to the PCC - literally right across the street from the entrance. The beach was very quite, never saw another person there.

We just returned from our stay and had a wonderful time. First of all, there are three 'cottages' on the property. A 2 bdrm, studio and one 3 bdrm home. They all share the same grassy yard and beach access. We rented the 2 bdrm house and the other two were empty so it was really nice to have the entire place to ourselves. The house has been remodeled with beautiful granite countertops and glass time surrounds in the kitchen and bath. The master bedroom has a window that faces the ocean and a queen sized bed. The window faces the ocean, so you have nice breezes coming in all day, especially at night. There is no air conditioning, but you don't need it. There is tile throughout the home and nice bedding. You are located on a beach that is very calm in the mornings and as the tide comes in in the afternoon you have some good waves. There are sand toys and boogie boards for your use as well. The house in located directly across from the Polynesian Cultural Center in Laie. Please make note that just about everything closes on Sunday, so you will need to plan ahead. The house has internet and a phone for local calls as well as a nice TV in the living room. The house was also immaculately clean and we didn't see one bug. Martha and Keld are the managers and they live next door. They were very nice and accomodating and helped us out with anything we needed. We can't wait to go back and are even thinking of renting all three properties for a family get-a-way. If you rent this, you will not be disappointed! If you are looking for a place away from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki, where you can truly relax and feel at ease, this is the place for you.

First time in Hawaii and we couldn't have asked for a better home base. The house is exactly as described...not huge but more than big enough for our family of 4, including two teen boys. The beach right outside your door is great - especially for those who want a calm place to swim and snorkel. If you want big waves for body surfing there are lots of beaches within a 20-30 minute drive, including the public beach "Pounders"...which is literally around the corner. It soon became one of our favourites. If you don't want the crowds of Waikiki this is a great choice. We did day trips to Honolulu for Pearl Harbour, Diamond Head, etc. Less than an hour's drive down the beautiful east coast and you're in Honolulu to do all the touristy things. 20 minutes in the opposite direction and you're in the heart of the big waves of the North Shore, including Haleiwa. But at the end of the day you get to come back to your little house on your private beach - and it really was private as we literally saw about 10 people on the beach the whole time we were there. The property is shared, as other reviewers have mentioned, but that wasn't an issue for us. The people in the two other units were very nice and we rarely saw them. Our sons pretty much had the run of the yard for playing catch. Martha and Keld right next door were very helpful with any questions we had...and gave us free run of their yard to retrieve stray footballs that went over the fence :-) Oh, we were lucky enough to see the Seal that others have mentioned. He or she is amazing, and massive!! All in all a fabulous vacation in a fabulous location. We definitely would go back and recommend it to our family and friends. Paradise with a beach!

My husband and I visited this lovely get-a-way the first of February. We wanted to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life and the cold of our home state on the mainland. We found this delightful little bungalow very relaxing and peaceful, warm and definitely away from busy life. The kitchen and bathroom have been upgraded. The calm beach with small waves protected from the big surf by two reefs that was actually just outside the backyard was perfect. We are thinking of taking our grown children and their children there and renting more of the units in the complex. The manager was friendly and helpful, even leaving a key ring with a discount card for the local Foodland supermarket just half a mile down the street. The unit was clean and orderly with everything we needed, including some beach towels and a cooler! Being just across from the Polynesian Cultural Center was convenient and within a half hour of pleasant drive to Haleiwa and Waimea Bay where the great surfers show their stuff was a highlight! If you're looking for a peaceful, private place to relax and recuperate from real life, rent this place! Way better than a high rise condo in busy Honolulu or a condo in a big, impersonal resort. All you're giving up are the crowds and hassles you planned to get away from!

Great stay

This was my first time renting a place for vacation and I was a little apprehensive but Victoria ( owner ) was easy to contact and all the key points were easy to address . We spent a week at the property and it was fabulous close to all amenities ,15min from northshore ( big waves) quaint shops and restaurants. We explored a new beach everyday , the beach at the property is beautiful its truly like described ( bath tub ) perfect for small children , good snorkeling white sand , its called the windward side for a reason but on our stay there was perfect weather slight wind perfect ocean breeze. I spent many mornings watching the sunrise with a coffee in hand, one would think you would hear traffic noise from the Polynesian cultural center but you don’t atoll . The house is clean throughout nice new kitchen no AC you don’t need it, at nights it’s perfect temperature the caretaker was very friendly and took care of any issues. Its not really a detached house it has 3 units one 3 bedroom and one bachelor suite all shearing the same 100ft of ocean front lot , now this was not a issue for us we had no problem with that , we enjoyed the other family in the 3 bedroom unit but if we were a signal couple with no kids it would be, having said that the property was perfect for us . We would with out question stay again and recommend it to others.

Loved the view and the Home

Traveling with family is always a challenge. Although we made reservations for 3, we had 2 other family members join us at last minute. The beach was our perfect hang out. No one really was around. We tried to go to the famous snorkeling beach but couldn't even find a parking spot, so we turned around and came back home. The views from the house are fantastic and don't even seem real. The water is so clear and the mountains so green. Martha was the perfect host, bring us 2 extra set of sheets. We'd love to return again. Oh yes and the rain shower head was unreal!!! I must buy one for my home.

The place to be if you are coming to Laie. This beach was the BEST, we went down the street to another and it was so crowded, we left. We loved the bathtub area right out front. Our kids 10 and 12 had such a great time. The best part, we could walk across the street to the Polyesan Culture center. Thanks for the discount grocery card! We had tons of dishes, pots and pans and a FULL sized refrigerator. THe weather was cool and breeze, we didn't need any air conditioning. In fact, we had to wear light weight jackets at night.. Martha you were the best, we loved you and Keld. We plan to come again.

Our younger son is 14 and the older one is 22 so we wanted a last family reunion as the boys are growing up so fast. We found the perfect place, wonderful set up and great views. The house had a brand new kitchen with a beautiful granite kitchen island. It was such a fantastic remodel. The bathroom sparkeled and was new as well. We loved the high end luxury look. This was truly a spectular place for us. The patio was wonderful to be able to sit out front. No one was at the beach! We had it all to ourselves. If you are thinking of coming to Laie, this is the BEST place and I would highly recommend it. Martha was wonderful and Victoria the owner made our arrangements so easy. Thank you

Paradise in Laie, loved the beach

Traveling to Hawaii with 2 small infants, 3 yr and 5 months is tough. The house in Laie made our stay so easy and FUN. We didn't have to pack up the kids to go to the beach. We just walked out front. Bathtub beach is perfect....NO ONE. We had the beach to ourselves. We had everything we needed in the unit, a high chair, and a packnplay. We loved the weather! It was perfect and we didn't need any air conditioning. Thanks Martha for being a wonderful, warm and welcoming hostess. You were great.

Perfect Famly Vacation - Views and beach were beyond compare!!!

Loved the vacation and escaping from the Nevada heat. Our children 11 and 9 won't come in from the beach even to eat. It was their perfect place to be. Loved the boggie boards and the beach to ourselves. After going to some other crowded beaches, this was the BEST. Just us. We loved having such a wonderful kitchen and full sized refrigerator -- saved us a lot of money. We could even walk across the street to PCC. What a great show. Victoria recommended that we drive across the H3 to Laie. We are so glad! What a spectular drive. We were even more pleased when we got to the home. Martha was the perfect hostess. I would highly recommend this home and this side of the island for the most unreal, green, tropical forest...it was like another world. Thank you so much for the great family vacation.

Is this Laie or Paradise?!

Is this Laie or Paradise?! If you are looking for the lights people and excitement of the big city then this place is not for you, but if you are looking for peace, quiet and AMAZING views this IS the place for you! The incredible sunrises—come on, you may not get up that early at home but your body won’t be on Hawaii time for a few days so enjoy it!! The air is so clean that you can really breathe! The sound of the waves crashing on shore outside your window is like the best lullaby you can imagine and the views of ocean and mountains will stir your soul! The Polynesian Cultural Center just across the road is a “don’t miss” if you want to have a real picture of the cultures of the Islands. We have never rented a vacation home before but this experience has changed that forever! Victoria (the owner) contacted me right away when I requested information and she and Laurel (her assistant) were very helpful. Martha (the onsite host) was there to greet us when we arrived and made us feel right at home! The house is clean, well equipped and very well maintained (rust at the beach is a constant battle!) and the beach right outside the living room and first bedroom is lovely for anyone who isn’t looking for a place to surf—you need to move to a place with fewer rocks for that, but it’s the North Shore—those places are not far away! Our daughter had a blast finding different fish just off the beach! We can’t wait to come back! Mahalo, Victoria and Martha!!

We rented the home for our 2 children because of the beach. We are glad that we did. After driving to other beaches we came back here. It was the BEST beach and the least crowded. Our kids loved it. Perfect for swimming, snorkeling and just sitting in the water. Wonderful beach and just as the pictures showed. Perfect weather and views.!!! Windy and cool. Glad we stayed here. The set up worked perfect for us. We'll be back....for sure...

A wonderful, relaxing, completely beautiful retreat! From the reservation process up until we pulled out of the driveway was seamless...everything was perfect! Beautiful Ocean Front Location

The location is breath taking and the owner was very easy to work with. We had a monk seal sunning itself on our beach one morning. The evening breezes made sleeping a delight. We were visiting our daughter at BYUH and the location couldn't have been more convenient. We went to the PCC twice (bounce back opportunity) and hiked to Laie Falls as well as snorkling and body surfing at our and other local beaches. We would definitely rent again if the opportunity rises.

Semi- secluded beachfront home, far from the madding crowd, but right across the sreet from Polynesian Cultural Center. Very clean and well maintained . Friendly care- taker lives next door and is very helpful. Downtown Hono-lulu and Waikiki pretty accessible, just over and through the pali. We'd go there again in a minute. JFH. We had a wonderful time at your beach side cottage in Laie! From the start the booking of the vacation rental went very smoothly. Once at the beach home we found it hard to leave. We had everything we needed right there. The view was gorgeous and we enjoyed sitting on the red bench gazing out into the ocean blue. Martha was very helpful and greeted us when we arrived and was available to answer any questions. We hope to return sometime soon! Thank you, again, for a perfect vacation stay in Laie.

We have been to Hawaii several times in the past 10 years. Mostly staying at the big name hotels and touristy areas. However this time we decided to do something a little different. We stayed in a beachfront house in the small town of Laie. What a treat that was!! Off the beaten track but close to the north shore for some great snorkling. The house was excellent. It had everything you could ask for. Kell and Martha were so nice. Our 19 year daughter had her own room which she just loved. From the front bedroom you can see the ocean and hear the waves on the shore. Plus a nice breeze. I just wish we had more time to spend. It goes by so fast. Thanks Victoria for letting us enjoy your house on the beach. It is one of the best vacations we've had.

wonderful beach house for families

Most everything was accurately explained and shown. Do know that you share backyard with another rental house. (3 dwellings altogether). We had everything to ourselves so it wasn't a problem. Everything was clean the owner and onsite manager were both very helpful and kind. It was like having our own private beach. FYI: Not a lot of "beach" after 5ish because of tide coming in and no beach in later evening. We went all over Windward to try another beach and ended up at the best beach for kids which was back at our rental house. LOL Would give 5 stars if it was updated a bit more. The home itself has no stairs so easy to get around, but there are stairs to beach. However, there aren't many and there is a hand railing. We had a blast looking at the sea life on the reef, and playing with the beach toys that were all provided. North Shore is the best place to stay unless you want to shop everyday and hang out on the beach with thousands of other tourists. If you want a more private, quiet, and economical vacation with or without kids I highly recommend this rental. I have already recommended this house to all my friends and family. I for sure hope to return!!! Thanks for such a much needed R & R vacation.

Great location and views...would recommend it to anyone. Very clean and wonderful management. We live in Laie and it has been perfect for our family to visit us. Love the new queen bed and the twin beds. Great views and the beach is wonderful.

Wow! What a view, the ocean is just out the door. The sunrises are fantastic. The location is wonderful, just a walk across the street from the PCC. The Unit was clean and well cared for. The Kitchen is well equipped with everything you need, even beach towels and boogie boards. The manager was very concerned that we had everything we needed. And the owner was great to work with. We are bringing our family back 3 more times this year.

Right on the beach. We had a memorable time and the property mangers were more than helpful. The views were great and the home was wonderful. More than enough room for the two of us and the house was very clean and guest friendly. What great views! We enjoyed sitting on the lanai and watching the ocean. What a great experience.
