Casa Eva is located in the barrio of Jalatlaco, which is at the northeast corner of the Historic Center of Oaxaca City, in southern Mexico. This vacation rental includes the entire ground floor of Casa Eva, which is a complete home, with a front garden, a patio and a covered patio, a service area, and a roof garden which is the entire third floor and includes a small chapel. The two bedrooms are adjoining. Both have large built-in closets. There is a king-size bed in the larger bedroom and a twin bed in the smaller bedroom. One crib is also available.
(The second floor of Casa Eva is comprised of the home and studios and office of the artist-owner, Eva.)
The state of Oaxaca is noted for its ethnic and botanical diversity, its ancient cities and contemporary craft villages, its cuisine and its visual artists. Oaxaca City, its capital, draws many tourists to its celebrations of Semana Santa (Easter Week) and Días de los Muertos (the Days of the Dead), and students to its many language schools.
If you are new to the City, Eva offers an orientation day tour in English of the Centro Historico, as well as recommendations for restaurants, museums, tours, drivers, and trips to artists' homes. Eva can also guide you to the best local galleries, shops, markets, and health care providers. Only two blocks from Casa Eva is the ADO bus terminal, where taxis are available whenever you prefer not to walk. The ADO luxury buses provide comfortable trips to other cities and states.
