Perfect Kiahuna Kauai
Perfect Kiahuna Kauai
My husband and I spent a relaxing, wonderful week at the Kiahuna Plantation. The owners of this unit have obviously spent considerable time and money to furnish and decorate their apartment. The unit is very beautiful, tasteful and comfortable. The location is ideal - a three minute walk to the beach and a six minute walk to the pool. It is also within easy walking distance to the Plantation Gardens restaurant, and the mall for additional restaurants and shopping. We took a Napali coast tour out of Port Allen which was a lot of fun and also toured the Waimea canyon from this location. We also saw monk seals on the Kiahuna beach daily. The ground floor location was perfect for enjoying the large grassy yard (a great place for kids to play) and quick access to the BBQ. The owner of this property is very easy to rent from with excellent communication and also has a gazette of information to ensure guests are aware of nearby activities. We would highly recommend the Plantation Gardens restaurant (especially the Passionfruit cheesecake) and Josselin's Tapas Bar. Overall we had a perfect, relaxing week which was just toooo short!! We highly recommend this rental to other vacationers.

Kiahuna: Great bungalo and great time on the South Shore of Kauai
Kiahuna: Great bungalo and great time on the South Shore of Kauai
Just got back to reality after the time of our lives in Kauai. We’re both well traveled, but this was our first time in Kauai and we are SO glad we went the route of a comfortable 1BR condo unit with the breathtaking location that Kiahuna Plantation offers. And this bungalow is a treat. Spacious unit with high ceilings … well decorated, and offers a fully equipped / accessory stocked kitchen. The rear opens up to an endless lawn adorned with flowering trees – a space our 2 year old loved to frolic about upon. The pool at the swim / tennis club and the public beach at Poipu are also terrific for little ones. Location is super: a short walk to the breaking waves, Eating and shopping are a brief stroll out the back door. The owners maintained a self-published "Gazette" -- a guidebook of local resources, activities and sights to see -- which they keep up very to date. This corner of Kiahuna Plantation feels quiet and peaceful, well shaded with lush vegetation and tall trees. At night all you hear is the wind through the trees. If you do a pre-dawn stroll down to the beach, you feel like you have the island to yourself. We look forward to going back!

Owner response: Thanks for the great feedback! Glad you enjoyed Kiahuna Plantation and Kauai as much as we do. We will keep adding to our Gazette to enhance our guests' vacations. That endless lawn off the lanai is one of our favorite features of the condo. Hope you can stay with us again! - Denise & Alan
Everything I expected and more!!!
Everything I expected and more!!!
Kiahuna 80 was a great place to vacation on Kauai! The condo's beach was very accessible-- a short, pleasant walk through the well-manicured grounds, and Poipu Beach (guarded beach, with facilities & great snorkeling) was also a pleasant, 5 minute walk away, or very short drive (plenty of parking there). The condo listing description was very accurate, and I was more than pleased with the accommodations, as well as the price. I was a little hesitant about renting at Kiahuna, because of some of the negative reviews I read, but clearly they were written by people who are disgruntled by life in general! The trade winds make air conditioning unnecessary, and the proximity to Poipu Road was not at all disturbing. The pool is across the street, but who goes all the way to Hawaii to swim in a pool, anyway? The Sheraton (next-door) didn't seem to care if we hopped in their beachfront pool (not that the owners probably can endorse this plan, lol). The place was very clean, supplies were more than adequate, and the condo's furnishing were very complete, right down a curling iron, blow dryer, and travel coffee mug!! The owners were very helpful in answering all of my numerous questions, and made lots of helpful suggestions. Plantation Gardens has excellent food for fine dining, and Keoki's Paradise across the street is a great atmosphere, with solid food choices. The Sheraton's appetizers were so-so, and their drinks were weak--instead, I'd recommend watching the sunset from Poipu Beach, and getting a drink at the Marriott's outdoor bar. Sheraton did have a very extensive & tasty breakfast buffet, however. As far as activities go, if you have the physical ability, I would highly recommend hiking the first two miles of the Kalalau Trail--what an exhilirating experience! Napali Seabreeze catamaran tour was great, and the captain was not only informative, but safety-conscious. I would highly recommend this condo rental!

Owner response: What a great review! This guest mentioned so many of the wonderful amenities that Kiahuna Plantation and our condo have to offer. One of the main being that the beach is easily accessible through the beautiful Kiahuna grounds. We purchased new furniture in May and we are getting a lot of compliments on our new decor, glad to hear that the guest liked our new furnishings. This guest was very active and did a lot of activities that the island has to offer. One of our favorite hikes is the Kalalau Trail, we usually do the first 2 miles as the guest mentions, the views are spectacular. She also went to 2 of our favorite restaurants, Plantation Gardens and Keoki's. Thank you for staying with us and taking the time to write not only this fabulous review but a wonderful description of the activities that Kauai has to offer. Hope you can come back and stay with us again. Aloha and Mahalo Denise and Alan
Best Island Vacation
Best Island Vacation
Aloha! Where to start? We just got home from an amazing 8 night trip to Kiahuna Plantations, unit #80. We found our condo to be very welcoming, tastefully decorated, stocked with the essentials and in a great location. The grounds of the Kiahuna are amazing. Fully mature plantings, flowering trees everywhere and the wonderful aromas of a tropical isle. We used Denise and Alan's "Gazette" for most of our adventures and found their recommendations to be spot on. We ate every breakfast/lunch in the condo and grilled a few dinners of fresh fish on the BBQ. The weather was sunny the majority of our time there. Of course, there were a few obligatory rain showers, but it's necessary to maintain the lushness of the island and worth the short wait under cover to be surrounded by such beauty. While we were there, the local paper had on it's front page that Kauai had won the "Best Hawaiian Island" for the second year in a row. I would have to agree! It was my favorite family vacation thus far! It's perfect for families or couples looking for a laid back, relaxed vacation in a beautiful setting. Mahalo to the owners, Denise and Alan!

Owner response: Such a great review. So glad you all had a great vacation. You were some of the first to see our new furniture and decorating, glad you liked it. Loved how you described Kiahuna's spectacular grounds, they are truly amazing. Alan spends a lot of time writing the "Gazette" it is good to hear that it helped you with your activity planning. Perfect Condo and Location in Kauai!
Perfect Condo and Location in Kauai!
This is the 2nd year my family has stayed in the condo, and let's just say we plan to come back every year. It's the perfect condo! The lanai opens to rolling green hills, tropical plants and a nearby BBQ. The unit is towards the back, so it makes you walk the few yards to the ocean but this was one of my favorite parts - makes you slow down and enjoy the tropical landscaping every day! The unit is stocked with everything you need. The bathroom was recently renovated and beautiful. The sofa bed could be more comfortable but I recently learned they have new furniture including a sofa bed. Can't wait to come back!!!

Thank you for staying with us and thank you for the wonderful review. Aloha and Mahalo, Denise and Alan
We just got back from a fabulous week's stay at Kiahana Plantation #80. The condo was nice, clean, and best of all..a short walk to the beach! It's on the south side of Kauai at Poipu Beach which was a big plus because it was always sunny, even when the rest of the island was rainy. The plantation resort itself is really nice and well kept. We ate in almost every meal, and the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. There's a BBQ just outside that we definitely utilized. The condo had a bunch of fun beach toys.. boogie boards, inner tubes, etc. that were also convenient to have. The furniture is nice, new, and well decorated. Denise was helpful and gave a lot of information on Kauai and places to go. We ate dinner at the Planations Garden, which had some of the best, fresh fish around! Driving to the north side of the island around Hanalaei Bay only takes 1.5 hrs, and is definitely worth the drive! We also kayaked up the Wailua River where you end up at a waterfall you can swim under! It's only accessible by kayak, but if you rent your kayak at the Hawaiian village, its only a 10 min kayak paddle versus a 45 min kayak ride from other places further down the river. There's also a swimming hole with a rope swing that's really fun! Would recommend! All in all, we did exactly what we wanted to do on our vacation.. relax!

We so enjoyed our stay at #80 kiahuna Plantation. The condo unit is so pleasant but the bed was absolutely heavenly, especially after the long flight from the mainland. We hiked the Kalalau trail on the Napali Coast. We made it to the Hanakoa Falls and then retreated back to our car. Outstanding hike. Resting up the next day around the plantation and then a sunset dinner at the Beach House, was a great finish. We'll be back.

We had a wonderful vacation. Thank you for sharing your place! We spent a lot of time right at Kiahuna – tennis, pool, and hours at the beach! We had a great dinner at Keoki’s and other than that we used the bbq’s. We stopped at Costco on our way in and got beautiful fish and meat and enjoyed bbqing in the evenings. We explored the island more on our last day. Saw Wailua Falls and drove up to the scenic look out at Waimea Canyon. Stopped at the Waimea Brewery/Plantation for drinks and appetizers – very good! We had a wonderful time and are definitely hoping to return! Thanks again!

We stayed here from november 29 untill december 6, 2009. We very much liked this Condo, because of convienience and wonderfull location. The huge open area ( lawn, trees and flowers ) in front, and visible from the groundfloor Lanai, made us feel we are in paradise.Easy and nice walk to the beach in a couple of minutes.A very quiet place with the only possible sound from a lawnmower. It was worth 34 hours in the air( to Kauai and back home ) Great service from Denise and Alan Heart.Thank you very much. The best service we had during our 4 week stay on Kauai. ( 3 different places )

Our stay in Kauai at the Kiahuna Plantation was one of the best vacations we've ever had - and we had our 1 1/2 year old daughter with us! The resort is set up beautifully to give visitors a sense of privacy and tranquility. The rolling lawns were a wonderful playground for our daughter who loved chasing the birds. Most days we strolled down to the beach or pool. The unit itself is immaculate and decorated beautifully. We couldn't have asked for more pleasant or convenient accomodations.

About the owner: Alan and I honeymooned at Kiahuna in 1997 and we fell in LOVE with Kauai and Kiahuna. We are both runners and we love running on the path by the ocean up to Spouting Horn. Such beautiful scenery. We kept coming back year after year and on our 10 year anniversary we decided we had to have our own piece of paradise. We love our home away from home. We are sure you will LOVE Kiahuna and Kauai as much as we do and want to come back again and again.
Why the Owner Chose Kiahuna Plantation:
The proximity to the ocean was ideal. We had stayed at other locations and you just can't beat the fact that Kiahuna is located right on the beach . The weather in Poipu is perfect, that is why they call it 'Sunny Poipu.'
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
One of my favorite things to do is swim in the ocean at Kiahuna beach. Often I will be out there with turtles and monk seals. Alan loves to spend his time on the 'Great Lawn' reading under a coconut tree. Both of us love to run to Spouting Horn.
