It is alway difficult to judge anything, because the result based on where you are from and what do you expect. In this case the condo was OK, nothing was wrong. If you have not a 'Ritz Carlton' standard, than this condo is almost perfect. The most positive aspect for me was the existing A/C. But be careful, if the A/C is running, don't use the Micro, because the fuse is not strong enough and you will stay in the dark.

Recommended for: Age 55+

Owner response: As an owner it is always difficult to hear that there is any kind of issue. We visit our unit often to upgrade, update, and replace items. Having been there in all seasons, I must admit we have never used the A/C. We love open windows & island breezes which have always been enough, (along with the overhead fans at times). High-end hotel chains are no comparison for Hale Kamaole and I don’t think anyone is looking for that when booking a unit at Hale Kamaole. We offer a condominium with a fully stocked kitchen & ammenities at a very reasonable price. Some hotel rooms are priced higher than a fully furnished condo at Hale Kamaole. All that said we will be checking into the fuse situation. Mahalo & Aloha!

Aloha Marcia & Anthony, My wife and I have recently returned to NZ after visiting Oahu , Hawaii and Maui where we spent a very enjoyable 10 days in your condo. It was by far the nicest condo we stayed in, both from the outlook and cleanliness point of view. This was quite apart from the friendliness and efficiency of the staff. The facilities provided are excellent and we wanted for absolutely nothing when it came to equipment for either the kitchen, the beach or the furnishings. The floor is wonderful and so much nicer than tiles. Quite coincidentally we met another couple who have stayed in your condo and share our view. We will recommend it to any friends contemplating a visit to Maui and will most certainly try to stay in it should we return to Hawaii . We thank you for sharing your condo with us as we recognize you are taking a risk, doing so with people you do not know but be assured we left it in the same condition we found it. For further information, apart from location, the King size bed and Wifi were what attracted us to it in the first place, Mahalo,

Marcia and Anthony, just wanted to let you know how much Sandra and I enjoyed your place in Maui. We had such wonderful weather, we spent every day at the beach. Your condo is so nicely decorated and well-equipped, it was like staying in a welcoming home. Unit 205 is very close to the large park adjacent to Kameolole beach 3 (2 minutes from the door to the sand!). The complex managers and staff were always ready to help and answere questions, this is a first class facility.

Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Don't Hesitate to Rent This Condo

My wife and I stayed here for 10 days in February 2012. This is a well kept one bedroom unit on the second floor of a quiet building just across the street from a public ocean park. Every morning we ate breakfast on the lanai, taking turns spotting the whales that perform offshore. I can't think of one thing that we needed that the owner did not provide. Just buy your groceries and move in! We will certainly be back.

Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

New Years at Hale Kamaole

This was our first experience working with VRBO and am happy to say that everything was as expected...no surprises. The property was spotless as was the condo itself...very well maintained. The grounds crew were present every day raking up leaves, transplanting etc. We made use of the concierge and the on-site office staff, both of which were most helpful. The owners worked with us on our needed dates. I was impressed at their communication and how well everything went. Kudos to Marcia and Anthony for sharing their lovely home in this way. The photos were up to date and exactly as presented. Very light and airy feeling, extremely comfortable bed, new appliances and the view from the lanai spectacular. We were right across the street from a sloping green grass area, stepping on to beautiful Kamaole Beach #1. The building is very soundproof and we did not hear neighbors below or next to us at all. The location is low key while being accessible to many restaurants and additional beaches. We were within walking distance of the Five Palms Restaurant where we enjoyed several meals in their open air restaurant on the beach...most pleasant. One of our favorite excursions was driving the Road to Hana, the magical little town on the most eastern side of Maui. Like going back in time. Fabulous. We also enjoyed a cruise, seeing whales breach in the distance and a Luau at the Grand Weilea. I would gladly recommend this property to anyone wanting a laid back vacation in Paradise that is also affordable. We will definitely use VRBO in the future and would return to this location again if it was available.

Aloha Marcia & Anthony, Mahalo for renting your home in paradise to us. Your unit is very modern & has all the things to make it another enjoyable stay at Hale Kamaole. Hope to rent again. Views from your lanai include seeing whales with the naked eye & closer views with the binoculars. All breakfast & dinners could be eaten on the lanai even while it was raining. No rain No rainbows. Fabulous Condo and location

We love this condo! The location couldnt be better. Views of the ocean & sunsets, directly across the street is a lush green park which is the entry to a wonderful beach. Everyone gathers at the park, for a wonderful sunset showing. Kihei is a fun town with many ammenties. The condo complex is very clean, with green lawns and great pool. The unit is light & bright, upgraded and very spacious. We will return soon! Kathy & Amber

Came from Maple Ridge, BC Canada (near Vancouver) to attend our granddaughter's wedding at the Grand Wailea. Your condo was perfect:- close to the wedding, shopping & beaches, etc. Went to see the lava flow, and up to the "crater". Next time we will do the Hana drive. Just a retired couple from Oregon, decided to come to Maui without reservations. We read S. Kihei was the best to stay. We zero'd in on "Hale Kamaole" and was shown 205. Needless to say we decided it was just what we were lookn' for. Your color scheme plus decor is perfect in your condo. The view also is just what we needed. Thank you for an enjoyable stay. Oregon

Our fifth time to Kihei - 3rd to Hale Kamaole - But 27 years between our 45h & 5th trips. We're not going to wait more than 1 yr before we come back...hope to stay longer then, too. Loved your unit...the view, decor & location can't be beat! Really hate to leave, but that just means we'll be back sooner. It has been fun seeing the changes to Kihei, but it still has its charm & peaceful feeling. More golf courses close by is a great change. Mahalo for your special unit. Lake Oswego, OR

Aloha! Upon arrival found the condo very clean & beautifully funished. The bed is EXTREMELY comfy!! We've been to Maui many times & generally always stay at Hale Kamaole. The view from your unit is breathtaking - a great spot to keep an eye out for whales! We've visited Whaler's Village (Kaanapali), Lahaina, Iao Needle & Mama's Fish House for lunch. Other great places to dine are The 5 Palms & Sarento's just a short distance from here. The Wailea Beach is lovely - if a little hard to find. Big Beach (Makena) is wonderful but kinda scary for swimming - waves are HIGH! Went to a Luau at the Wailea Beach Marriott - just beautiful! Fred's Mexican Cafe (a short distance) is a very casual, fun place to "hang out" and so, our visit to Paradise comes to an end. Thank you for your hospitality - till next time Winnipeg Mb

Thank you for a lovely stay! Maui Revealed especiallly appreciated - though note that the hike north of La Perouse Bay is currently closed by the park service. This unit was great! Lots of fun provided - Bocci, Boogie boards, flippers, beach mats, chairs - CRIB (cribbage board/cards). Great location! Had a fantastic time! Blowing the conch @ sunset with the "Conch Gang" Ha! Pretty funny. Hopefully we can come back again before long. Lots more surfing and snorkelling to do! And last, but not leat - got engaged here!!! We came to Maui for our Honeymoon, the Hale Kamaole units are beautiful. We stayed in 2 units and this one is furnished beautifully and well-equipped. Highlights were: 1) Snorkeling in Molokini, 2) Parasailing in Lahaina, 3) Road to Hana - don't be scared of the unpaved road (unless it rained). Happy New Year! It was our 1st visit to Maui. Excellent accomodations!!! Hale Kamaole came highly recommended & now we know why! We were very lucky to get #205 - everything we could possibly use/need was here. LOVED the lanai!! (the coctails were so much more tastier with the view) We are truly sad to go home ..... do we really have to??? From +80 degrees to 40 below - here we go - back to Canada-EH? Thanks Marcia & Anthony!! The Hale Kamaole units came highly recommended & we were so lucky to get Unit 205. WE LOVE THIS UNIT - IT HAS EVERYTHING YOU COULD NEED. It was a treat to be here. Next time we come I will stay a longer period of time as we have fallen in love with Maui and want to come back. For the guests that follow our stay ~ you will enjoy this condo unit & the people and atmosphere here. In our short time here I managed to wear out my husband shopping in Lahaina, we snorkelled at Molokini Crater & saw the coastline with Blue Water Rafting. We won a sunset cruise from Julie @ the concierge and the food was great & cruise worth going. Today we got up at 2AM and saw the sunrise & did the non-guided bike trip back (highly recommend breakfast at Hula Lodge up there) Bike Co = Haleakala Bike Co. We leave now for a week in Honolulu and very SAD to leave here. St. Albert, Alberta, Canada

Loved your condo, we followed the owners and the place was exceptionally clean and so organized, everything has its place (I like that). Was very nice to meet Marcia, very nice lady. We've booked for next year to come back, unfortunately we could not get this same condo, we will keep trying for some other time though. Sarento Italian Restaurant, turn left on exit and it's on your right ... walking distance ... really excellent. Drive to Hana and take in all the sights - to do it right, spend all day going. Then, do a Helicopter ride & see it from another angle. In a word ... Spectacular. Anthony & Marcia, congrats on a Fab Condo & thanks for the extras ... Deck Chairs, Cooler, etc etc. Austin TX

It's been wonderful to be back on Maui and in Unit 205! We've been away for 12 years, but are already planning our return next year!

Aloha and welcome to our little piece of paradise. Whether you're inside, on the lanai or strolling the grounds, you'll enjoy the ocean views and all that goes with it. Our first visit to Maui was in March of 2003 and we vowed to go back. On our second trip we knew we would eventually purchase something in the Kihei area. We've realized our goal and are excited about the possibilities. Our remodel is fresh with new carpeting, tile entry, kitchen & bath, new stove, dishwasher & refrigerator, new cookware & kitchen furnishings, new patio set, and much more. Think of 'Unit 205' as your place to stay when you visit Maui. Hale Kamaole is a small oasis in a beautiful and often magical place. We hope you find our place to be warm, inviting, and so comfortable you'll want to make this your place to stay.
